By diehard Go To Postso there is still a possibility that seeds 5, 6, 7 and 8 in the East don't have winning records.putting a team in the playoffs under 500 in the west makes this a rare year... for the east it is just another Wednesday

I'm going to believe this conspiracy theory for the entirety of Fultz's Suns career.
The only major argument in favor of Harden is team record.
Even if he doesn't win, people will still look back on this season and remember Russ's performance. The same can't be said of Harden, mainly because Russ's play has blotted out the sun.

Monty Williams is a good dude. His late wife, Ingrid, is amazing.
Harden lost 2 years ago to Steph in MVP race because of basically team record, and harden got that squad to number 2 in the west. But now in this situation WB might win it and his team is the 6 seed?
So does team performance and a mix of individual dominance matter more or are we just now going to go strictly by stats? If Westbrook wins it outright it's going to set a precedent moving forward.

For me the clincher is that we would be worse without Westbrook than Houston would be without Harden.
It's been a LONG time since it has happened but it has happened before oddly enough the last player to win an MVP and not be on a top 3 or 4 playoff team was a Rocket..
I don't care what that chart says
Anybody with eyes knows that the rockets are not a goddamn 50 win team without harden especially in the west u srs breh

By KingGondo Go To PostFor me the clincher is that we would be worse without Westbrook than Houston would be without Harden. The better a team as a whole is, the less impact a good player will have on it. The argument brought up by that chart is a great way to devalue the accomplishments of someone on a better team.
Like, you could use that same argument to say that Jrue Holiday is better than Durant. It's lunacy.
I think a vote for LeBron in any year is totally fair, although his supporting cast is also better than the Thunder's. The Cavs have just dealt with their fair share of injuries and post-chip hangover. They can afford not to give a shit and know they'll be fine when the playoffs come around.
The consensus is that it'll come down to Harden and Westbrook though. That chart is some nice ammo in Russ's favor.

And based on the way the Dubs have played without him, you could make the argument that Jrue is more valuable to the Pels than Durant is to the Warriors.
The Warriors don't need Durant. If he's out the rest of the season they're still favorites to win the chip.

I don't really know how you argue the opposite. The Warriors dont need KD in any capacity.
With him they win 60+ games and go to the Finals, without him they win 60+ games and go to the Finals.
With him, they're league best in offense and defense

He's an all season human victory cigar to them.

I still have a hard time believing the Lakers could lose their pick even though it's more likely than not at this point.
By KingGondo Go To PostThe real kicker is losing their 2019 pick.

Harsh but true
The outlook feels worse for them this offseason than it did last. Not many would have predicted that.

I don't see why Rubio is so disrespected. The dude is barely coming into his prime, having one his better seasons and since Thibs stopped running constant Wiggins ISO's and let Rubio run the show he has been putting up career numbers.
What the Wolves need is a defensive wing and a coach who knows what the fuck he is doing. I can't stand watching Wolves games because all you hear is Thibs barking like a clown on the sidelines. Shit is grating.

Because Rubio can't finish at the rim or shoot off the dribble. He is a nominal spot-up threat from 3 and mid-range. They still have other issues to address that are more important than him, though.
We know the Lakers keeping their pick. It is what is.
Suns don't have a winnable game....Holy Shit..I'm scared.
Lets go Magic/Bulls!
