Spectacularly crap "music" that, by the way. Though the surrounding history around the black metal movement and its subsidiary is morbidly interesting.
Euronymous was a right cunt. Vikerness is even worse.
I never really got into black metal either. Just not my thing at all, and dressing up with corpse paint and fake blood is just silly.
By WoodenPapangu Go To PostIt's hard to hear anything but noise from a shitty live recording like that for sure. But it's extremely organized chaos, with some fairly silly time signatures at times. Easier to hear without vocals.I understand that it is structured chaos, if the band members aren't in sync it really would sound like a disjointed mess. With the irregular time signitures that would be even more difficult to get right. We did a bit of jamming yesterday where we tried something where the bass line and drums needed to be hit at the same time. You could tell right away if one was late or not. So I'm not saying they're not good musicians.
Quite clear structure to it, even if it changes all the time. Many who are into metal aren't into it at all though, even if most recognize they are pretty fucking good musicians. That part at 1:40 so good.
It's just that whatever they're doing up until the bit that starts at 1:40 really does not sound like music to me. I guess there's a rhythm and a melody, but the overall tone and sound of the instruments just sounds bad to me. Just a case of you like one thing and I don't and that's fine.
I can see why people would go crazy and mosh and beat each other up and gigs and just generally have a great time.

Yeah that's fine, as I said, they tend to even be hated by metal heads. Hell, it usually takes many listens of new material from them, for me to really start appreciating the new album/song whatever. So it's obvious why it would be off putting to people not even into the more extreme genres.
By WoodenPapangu Go To PostI never really got into black metal either. Just not my thing at all, and dressing up with corpse paint and fake blood is just silly.Nah, it's definitely not for me. I had so-called friends who were deeply into it at one time.
Almost everybody from the initial surge are either dead and/or batshit insane as well.
Darkthrone does make decent enough tunes since shifting genres to crust punk a decade or so ago. Fenriz is a cool bean too.

Don't like linking the Mail but even this article ripping into our season under Moyes is just dull and depressing instead of half amusing.

"It was around the same time that defender Van Aanholt - their second-top scorer with three goals - was allowed to force through a move to Crystal Palace, a relegation rival, no less. We understand he told team-mates he would feign injury if he had to stay."
What a pro.

God, Januzaj. What a failure that's been.

Hate it when English players go down easily.
It's an "exclusive" from The Sun, so they're probably just making it up, but they claim that Leeds's owner will sack Garry Monk would he fail to help them reach the play-off spot(s).

Somehow when I opened Safari this post was staring me in the face.
By Scum Go To PostThat's just…I don't even..They've bottled it pretty badly lately, I'll admit to that, as they were 3rd not long ago - but that decision would surely see them relegated to League One.
In other words potentially catastrophic. Then again maybe that's what such a club deserves.
By Oddinho Go To PostSomehow when I opened Safari this post was staring me in the face.Brutal. Now mathematically "safe" from not finishing below them too.

The Mail are going in hard on Moyes, but what is he supposed to do when players are that unwilling to put in the required effort? Obviously I'm not there in the training and it's only a feeling I get but it seems like he inherited a squad that just never wanted to be a team in the first place.
Oh baby, Jürgen
"A centre-half for a top team is playing with a lot of space at the back. That’s how Tottenham act, how City act and sometimes how Arsenal act. Manchester United are for sure a bit different."
