By inky Go To PostSurprise of the season: West HamWell, they are, but not in a positive way.
God, I'm an idiot.
So you're technically right.
By rvy Go To PostBeautiful.
I can fuck with this.
By OneTwoTee Go To PostWho would be considered Breakout POTY?
Idrissa Gueye?

By rvy Go To PostIt has been up for debate.:)

Why are my jokes being attributed to others
what is this 😡
Marcos Alonso has been the biggest surprise for me at Chelsea. Most improved is Victor Moses. Not sure either count as "breakout players" though.
I couldn't get behind the split Joycons for Zelda due to the complexity of the controls, but fuck it's good for MK8.
The Switch is such a fantastic bit of hardware.

I wrote Xhaka as breakout player. I'm pretty sure it was some attempt at banter that I've since forgotten.
By Bungie Go To PostBreakout Player of The Year shouldn't be a thingWhile I agree with this, I also think you shouldn't be able to win Young Player Of The Year twice. I can't really explain why, just don't feel right. Being bought into the team at 18, and still being eligible for it 5 years later is a bit weird.
Not really sure where I stand on Lovren. Think that Palace match is the first game we've lost with both Matip and Lovren starting, but would probably prefer that he's our third choice CB.

By Hitch Go To PostWoodburn is the breakout playerBravo
Worst flop is pretty difficult.
By Xpike Go To PostBravoYeah, that's probably right
All the others I either expected nothing from, or their impact has been limited by the quality of player ahead of them. Bravo has just been terrible though. Impact somewhat lessened by Caballero having a decent season, but still.
Hey guys! Being a lurker for quite a long time but decided that its time to start posting since Berlusca and Galliani are out.

By Willkiller Go To PostWelcome, who do you support?
Milán of course :)
I would say Tom Davies is my breakout player this year.
Can a manager count as the worst flop? Because Pep was hyped to bring City to greatness. Instead he's at fourth without any trophies.

Pretty sure you used to post in the GAF thread innit.

Never had an account at GAF :O. Better to just lurk over there.
Jesus cost too much and has played too little to have had the best breakout, surely. Obviously his goals put him front and centre, but I'd say Davies is a better shout. Came out of nowhere (for me), has played pretty much every game since coming into the team, and has helped revitalise Everton's season when it looked like it was going nowhere.
edit: do we have an il_diavolo and a Diavolo?

Ah, that's it.
Bravo is absolutely the biggest flop of the season.
Tom Davies is a good shout for Breakout POTY. Pretty much a regular in that Everton side now.

"Sunderland AFC Limited has filed its annual accounts for the year ending July 31, 2016. The figures highlight the period from August 01, 2015 through to July 31, 2016.
During this period, which featured a 17th place finish in the Premier League, the club had a turnover of £108 million. This represents an increase of £7 million on the 2014-15 figures and shows a small operating profit of £1.5 million. These figures do not include player amortisation and trading costs however, which saw a commitment to gross transfer fees of £38.3 million during the 2016 summer window.
The period saw a reduction of £23 million in the club’s net debt, from £133.2 million, to £110.4 million."
Incredible.
We need to bounce back straight away. At worst we need to go back to being a 'yo-yo club'. At worst.

Jordan Pickford is the breakout POTY. Would also argue for this being Zaha's breakout season. Both have been a lot better than Davies
Edit: also there are loads of players signed for £10m+ who have had crappy seasons, lot of competition for flop. Slimani, Perez, Sissoko, Boufal, Pogba, Ayew, Berahino, Batshuayi, Baston, Success, Townsend, Ibe, Mason, De Room. You can pretty much pick out the biggest transfer for any team and find a flop, pretty astonishing awfulness

Forgot about Pickford. I'll say its gotta be him until someone inevitably reminds me about some 16 year old whose scored 30 goals for Bournemouth.
It's Pickford and anyone who says otherwise is a strokey anime nonce.
We'll sell him for half of what he's worth to Everton as well.

Also forgot about Pickford. Agree that he'd be best choice for the title. Sunderland could easily get at least £10m for him.
Don't think Zaha has been consistent enough to get it.

A lot more than that I think
By Willkiller Go To PostA lot more than that I thinkYeah, I think it'll be a fair bit more. He's young, has PL experience and comes with English tax. Think Sunderland's relegation status will cheapen him a bit though. Guess it all depends on how much the club is holding out for and how many other clubs are interested.
