About as uneventful as it could get with a keeper going down injured and a straight red being the highlights. United were well outclassed but City just didn't do enough.
Very good defensively again.
Would have taken a point before the game considering we still have it in our own hands in the league.
Still think EL is the best chance. Need players back and fit for that game.
Hopefully we get to see some now Fosu on the weekend!

Genuinely embarrassing performance from Man City, they couldn't even score one goal past the walking dead skeleton team that Manchester United have left at the moment. Pogba needs to come back from his injury asap.

Well outclassed? We were more successful with our gameplan than they were.
Not suggesting we weren't negative, but they didn't threaten too much did they? Most their possession was anaemic. Outclassed is extremely generous, let alone well outclassed.
By Auto Simeone Go To Postis it fair to say Fellaini has been one of the best players for Utd?
Yeah overall he has been, but two or three ridiculously dumb decisions from him brings his overall grading down.
Good result for us with both teams dropping points. Think a City win might have been better to get us a CL place but can't complain.
Not sure what to think really, happy with a point but this was a game we sort of needed to win, now we really need to beat spurs let alone Swansea.
Still all EL personally.
Still all EL personally.
Appalling performances by Darmian, Mkhi, Martial and Fellaini in particular. They all just hoofed the ball into touch or dribbled into trouble even though they had plenty of options around. Occasion completely got the better of them and our counter-attacking game plan was utterly defunct as a result.
I'll take that. Shit offensive performance, quite decent defensively. Aguero is a joke, Fellaini is a joke. City were held reasonably tame, feel like the defence is really getting into it. Bailly easy MotM

Best case realistic scenario for me:
Beat Swans, Saints, Palace. Draw with Arse/Spurs. Leaves us on 75 points. Think that was enough to get second last year... might leave us on fifth or sixth lol
By inky Go To PostIf Pep gave Jesus 10 more minutes he would've killed United. Glad he didn't.Agree. He was dangerous.
Martial and Mkhi cant seem to function in teams that rely on them to be the difference makers, they arent leaders.

We didn't have the quality in the middle of the pitch to make more of the counters and the wingers were too deep.
Shame we don't have another CB avaialble as Mou would have probably gone for a 3 at the back and played 2 up top as we did Chelsea. Wingbacks would have been enough to cover the wings and 2 up top would have given us more on the counter.

By subtles Go To PostSad that if they win their games in hand we'll be fifth :(With Spuds and Arse away still to play, unable to win at home. Temporary position at best.
By Punished Go To PostHell be so happy when we rest half our team sunday for the EL
By Xpike Go To Postbut he gave him a lotDefinitely should have brought him on for Sané. Jesus is an absolute difference maker. Hopefully he starts the next match.

what a lad he is.
By n8 dogg Go To PostEnough in it to justify the red. Fellaini shouldn't have risen to it.FFS I was trying to create a narrative.
By MC Go To PostMartial and Mkhi cant seem to function in teams that rely on them to be the difference makers, they arent leaders.I told ya all about that. He can be a great player, but he needs a working team on order to do so. Also he is as soft as you can imagine. A couple of misses and the drought period follows.
By n8 dogg Go To PostWell outclassed? We were more successful with our gameplan than they were.I don't know. 19 shots to 3 from United. Neither side did much to threaten goal. I suppose I'm swayed because of the massive 70/30 gap in possession. United in the second half were West Brom'd.

We have to win all of our games i think.
We have some tricky ones with Spurs away, United home and our boggey teams Stoke and Saints away.
Embrace the thursdays bud.

Luckily, we're playing them at the time of the season where we're "good" again, and they have nothing to play for.
All difficult fixtures, but all very winnable. Would worry more about WHL but they're too far away from Chelsea to reach them at this point. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a frantic, high-scoring affair like the 4-4 at Anfield however many years ago that was
Ander still had the best chance of the game.
Mostly though our defensive plan worked and our offensive plan... was probably the right idea but was executed appallingly.

Good point.
Hope youre right.
But atm, if i could choose, i'd rather win the FA Cup and stay out of the top 4.

Why? To force Wenger to leave?
By Laboured Go To PostAnder still had the best chance of the game.Pogba was missed in the middle. Would've been more confident on the ball and helped transition defence to attack. Don't think the mids did that well going forward today.

Kompany praising Rashford and Martial. Hope they can both kick on next season.
By jtb Go To PostWhy? To force Wenger to leave?
I want a trophy.
And if it makes Wenger to leave, even better. If we get top 4, Wenger is 100% staying.
He is staying anyway innit. But i prefer a trophy. And spending one year without getting humiliated by Bayern/Barça is not a bad thing.
