I think Mou is looking for more than trophies now. He is looking for a home. For love.
He'll never find it.
He'll never find it.
By Wedward Go To PostI think he has clearly lost a step.
Don't think he is incapable of winning trophies though. I think almost any top manager given enough time and money can win a league title.
(Except Wenger.)

Harder in the EPL.
By Hitch Go To Posttbf if City were in the EL and fell behind the top 4 in the league reasonably early on, they'd probably have gone farProbably, but City's underachievement in the past 2 seasons has gone under the radar because they are achieving the patented Arsenal minimum and I would argue it's just as bad for the team they have.
They got top 4 last season on point difference alone. Over LVG's United... let that sink in for a minute. The manner of their cup exits and their 0% chance in the league this year are not that flattering either.

We will love him in Copenhagen, like we loved Roy Hodgson.
By jtb Go To PostRelated, but unrelated Q: do you guys think Zidane is a good manager?
Everything I've seen is pretty uninspired. Perez's attempt at his own poor man's Pep.
And yet Roman didn't think he was the right man for the job. Sad!
Not sure. He's arguably good at reading the game, makes good subs, but then look at their bench. Must be good motivationally due to the amount of late goals they score. Don't think there's any great tactical nous, they kind of just brute force results.
I genuinely think Pochettino is one of the very best coaches working today but he needs to win something to take that extra step. Same with people like Sarri, Jardim, Tuchel. All wonderful to watch but they need something for the legacy.

Not really. Conte got it this year.
Pep and Mou will probably each get one. Poch maybe.

So when Zidane wins, it's "brute force" but when Mourinho's players time and time again orchestrate coups to get him sacked, he's a ~motivational genius.~
kidding
To me, it's interesting that Zidane has struggled in La Liga. Seems like after their dire run in Europe (Arsenal-esque, tbh), their fortunes have flipped and the league is the new "test" of whether a manager has really gotten the most out of their squad at Madrid.

We might cross them in next year's Europa tho. Looking forward to that innit.
Mourinho will end up at Portugal at some point. One more club stop in him though. Maybe by Euro 2024.
For fucks sake Hazard, this is what we're saying when we say be selfish. That would have been good selfish!

There were so many factors for last year's Chelsea's absymal position that it's hard to pin it all on Mou.
Most Chelsea fans here agreed he wasnt THE problem from what I remembered.

La Liga's really stepped up in quality the last few years I think. Was always good with two superclubs but Atleti, Sevilla, Bilbao, Celta, Sociedad, Valencia all proving they can hang with the big boys when required, almost as if they improved due to the sheer challenge of bestig the hegemony. Think missing that nous can fuck things for Madrid, but ultimately their squad is just too strong.

Clearly, something happened that caused the players to turn on him.
Pls
Porto were a good team back then, Leicester are Championship tier. What Ranieri did is unprecedented.

That would've been some way to end his goal drought.
I always enjoy an overhead kick, whether failed or successful. Never not entertaining.

Ranieri also bought all those Chelsea players that Mourinho used to make Chelsea great again.
Truly the master.
Sack Conte and hire Ranieri pls.

By Auto Simeone Go To PostPlseh, they had a stronger squad last year (Kante) and still managed to go to Top 8 CL. The strengh of Leicesters' squad is definitely not championship, even last year

Costa came to the team fat after his holiday
Matic who was a rock the past season became absolute shit. So did Hazard
I'm not saying Mou was entirely blameless but fuck, last year the players probably were too relaxed after finally winning the title.

I agree.
The new TV deal distribution model is clearly working, however there remains more work for it to be deemed a complete success.
I'ts no fluke that mid-table clubs are taking points away from Sevilla, Barcelona and Madrid. Teams are able to afford better players and keep their talents instead of selling.
