I like Beer
you like Beer
let's talk about our favourite beers.
(apologies if this is the wrong place for this btw!)
Anyways here are my favourites
Augustiner Helles Lagerbier. Crisp, refreshing and delicious
Anno 1417 Kellerbier. Amber hazy but drinkable and then some.
Saltaire Pale Ale. Hometown brewers, but one of the most delicious ales i've had.

I'm pretty thankful to be in Oregon because I love beer.
Some of my favorites include Fort Gorge Vortex IPA, Deschutes Black Butte Porter, Terminal Gravity IPA, Occidental Brewing Dunkel, Julius Echter Dunkelweiss, Boneyard IPA. I'm probably missing quite a few and my mind is on local right now, but you can't do wrong with any of those imo.

I'm Belgian. I love our beers. Haven't been able to trie Westvleteren yet but it's supposed to be the best there is. I can confirm Westmalle, Duvel, Chimay, Rochefort, Orval and La Chouffe are all really good though.
Oh baby, Belgian beer. Probably the only thing you lot are good at. ;)
Kasteel Donker
Sweet, strong, dark. Just how I like my men.
Duvel
Strong golden pale ale.
Hoegaarden
Witbier. My favourite beer for warm spring and summer days. Sit back, add a slice of lemon and enjoy.

I've been on a huge Founders kick since they came to my state (Oklahoma) last year. Virtually everything they make is exceptional. Centennial IPA, Founders Porter, Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale, Breakfast Stout... yeah. They're awesome.
My best local brewery is Prairie Artisan Ales, based out of Tulsa. They were only founded 5 years ago and they're already listed on Beer Advocate's list of the world's top 100 breweries. They specialize in intense stouts and refreshing sours. Very good stuff if you can find it.

Haven't tried the Kasteel but of the other two not a fan of Duvel but Hoegaarden is reliably drinkable
Speaking of Belgian beers been right into this recently
Lovely stuff.

By ApolloI've come to realize that stouts are the best.
I had the Black Rabbit Stout from McMenanim's last night. Was pretty good, a little on the soft side.
This weekend, I'll be visiting a few breweries in the San Diego area. Can't wait for dem tastings. It might even re-spark my interest in homebrewing again.
By reiloTonight on the menu: Fort George Vortex. Boneyard Double IPA.
I can't rave about the Vortex enough.
Does Portland have Mac n Jack's??
Their African Amber is my favorite beer ever
By reiloNot that I've seen it or had it but I'll try to keep an eye on it.http://www.macandjacks.com/beers.php
They from Redmond WA so thought maybe you might get it down there
I absolutely adore Augustiner Helles.
It's a beautifully crafted beer and certainly my favourite from Germany.
I used to be big into my ales, but I've mostly been drinking lagers recently.

SMH. I mean, really.
As the resident alcoholic, YEY.
There is also this thread by filler, about drinking in general
And ... I haven't had a beer that's excited me in a while. The new Mikeller desert beer was good though. The new Evil Twin stout was ~~~
I think i need to rotate back to scotch :|

There's nothing wrong with a decent lager.
By XunThe only people who do genuinely good lagers are the Asians (Asahi, Sapporo, Yebisu, Kirrin, Tiger) and the Czechs and their Pilsners.By giririsssStarts beer thread, posts a lager.Hey now, don't you go disrespecting Augustiner!

Out side of that most others are pretty average really. I will say, a euro brewed Carlsberg is pretty easy to drink though.
Tried a few new beers recently
First up;
Fruch Kolsch: Crisp, clean with a dry and I thought fruity finish. Alreet, would probably have again
Munchner Gold: Big fan. Hint of bitterness but still right up my alley in terms of drinkability. Great beer
Atkien Landbier Dunkel: Darker, fruitier lager but still right drinkable. Liked it but not sure if i prefer it over other landbiers.
Anchor Steam Beer. Enjoyable beer this. Lager taste with a hoppy-ness to it.
Saltaire Celebration Ale: Bradford brewery so I am biased in favour of them but my word do track down some of their stuff if you can. Caramel hints to this but they are easily my favourite brewery. Never had a bad'un from them

I haven't tried anything new in the past two weeks. Right now I am drinking Gingerbread Beer by harpoon and Blue Moon
Now, that powdered alcohol has been approved for sale within the USA let's talk about it. Who's taking bumps of Bud Light lime before the party? I'm not trusting anyone that pulls out a bag of allegedly powdered tequila. How does one get powdered Tequila through customs without getting arrested for drug charges?
Let's talk about powdered alcohol that includes beer.

I'm giving Delirium Noctorum a try right now. It's pretty damn good, but I wish the notes would hit on more of the banana side rather than the apricot side. Just a personal preference but good nonetheless.
Last night I gave Basecamp S'more Stout a try and that wasn't bad. Kinda your standard stout.

I'm coming over to the various stout sides myself, though my tastes are pretty broad. I had a long oatmeal stout phase, but I've been branching. Had the Smuttynose Rye Stout recently and oh my gosh. But it was a one-off at a local bar and I can't find it. Dude at the store actually argued with me about rye stouts existing. I mean, you work in a store that sells many varieties of beer. You have one job, man.
By DortmundIs Chimay as good as people say it is?It's good. Maybe a bit overrated because it's perhaps the most widely-available artisanal Belgian beer, but worth giving a go.
Duvel is also very good in that same vein, although it's a very different style.
By PizzaBy Robot1-XThe only beer I like is Hoegaarden. Is there anything else similar?
Blue Moon?
Blue Moon so good with an orange.
Goddamn Nitro And Golden Monkey beer sooooo goddamn good.
So I am drinking this tonight watching the Grizz. Anyone else ever had it? Its interesting to say the least.
lol fucking no. Rogue is local to Portland, too, and I've avoided ... whatever that is.
Their Dead Guy Ale and Chocolate Stout are delicious though.

Bell's Oberon would be your jam.
Ommegang Dubbel and Witte are good too.
Yeah I like all their other stuff and like sirarcha so i figured what the hell. It isn't terrible but having the spicy aftertaste is something I am not used to with beer.

No, but I've learned to avoid rogue. Their quality has dropped significantly over the years.
Just finished a 4pack of
... over 2 days. I'ts good without being amazing. more IPA than pale. very dry. good stuff.
I bought a 12 pack of Oculto. It is a beer aged on tequila barrel staves. It is very unique. Sweet smell. Tastes like a watered down ginger ale with tequila. Not very good but I got to finish the 12 because I bought it. That is coming from somebody that loves tequila.
Ispwich Oatmeal stout so good
Tried this rocket ale beer, didn't like it.
The past two weeks I been drinking the ommegang Games of Throne beer. Shit is amazing.

Nice I have to check it out o e. I know my city (Boston) has an amazing beer scene as well.
By KumaJG Go To PostFor the weekend I got Dead Guy Ale by Rogue and Goose IPA with Heineken on the side.Don't rate the dead guy at all.

Didnt like the dead guy ale at all. Goose IPA was good though
Recently had Lagunitas Sucks and Jack Abby's IPL(India Pale Lager). Shit was marvelous.
Whoa, just saw this thread. I think I will be here a lot.
I brewed two batches over the weekened! One was a Brett Saison that I added cucumbers and lemon to. The other is a Russian Imperial Stout that I'm throwing some cinnamon, cocoa nibs, and vanilla beans into. Really pumped for the second one.
Going to pop open a Westbrook Gose right now and play some Bloodborne.
