Going to take a break from Odyssey post game and try beating Zelda since somehow I'm actually finishing games. Haven't played in 2 months and I keep expecting to jump around like Mario lol. And I'm gonna have to remember falling from heights will kill Link.

Today, I just 100% Mario and Rabbids (Fuck that Ultimate Mission is a pain in the ass, and the perfecting Bowser's fight, the rest were OK), and was wondering if I should get the DLC. I love the game way too much, but £20 is a bit steep for essentially a bunch of Challenge maps (which I am ok with since I really like going through them) and an unknown piece of story DLC.

Golf story patch came out and it fixed my fucked save file but I can't really get back into the game now. Took too long of a break.

Been playing FE Warriors, but bought Doom to break it up some. That game plays pretty good, but looks really blurry on the TV. Nice to have portable though and looks pretty good on the small screen. Will probably beat the game again, and try out Arcade mode. Also want to open up all the original Doom levels, since I didn't do that on the PS4.

Doom is just outrageously good fun. Currently playing campaign on a 5 hour train ride

I am a wuss when it comes to horror and claustrophobic games. I would have gotten Doom, but I can imagine me not enjoying it consider the dark aesthetic it got going.

I don't remember it being too claustrophobic. There is air duct walking and some corridors, but a lot of the action happens in bigger areas. The dark aesthetic could still be a turn off, and there is a lot of blood and guts, but if you get the chance you should give it a shot. The game is really fun and frantic, lots of good tense firefights and the game uses melee kills to help balance health and ammo in a cool way.

It's more of a comic representation of a very classic idea of demons, with fangs, horns and hooves. It is quite gory, but at it's core it's an unrelenting high octane action shooter. Not really a horror game.

Konami has updated Super Bomberman R again with a new 3x3 online mode, a new world for Story Mode and 9 new characters including Dracula, Anubis and Jehuty from ZOE and Goemon.
Never expected that one of the games with the best post release support would have come from Konami.

All the fighting happens in areas that look like they belong in old-school arena-style multi-player pvp maps. Not really horrifying at all. Can get really damn tense, though.

Can I ask why not? Heard it is a decent port, is portable, and HD Rumble is used to pretty good effect. I'm not a huge fan of the game, played on 360 when it came out for a few dozen hours, and have been thinking about getting it as well.

I am also interested to know why I shouldn't grab the Switch port of Skyrim. Never played the game and the portability aspect is a bigger push for me than any graphical bells and whistles of the PS4 version.

I'm not Dipro, but generally getting a version of an Elder Scrolls that doesn't allow mods is a losing proposition.

Well that cuts off pretty much every version besides the PC one, right? Xbox and PS4 are going to charge for them if they add them I thought?

Odyssey is a great Mario game, but Zelda is a once in a decade masterpiece that is truly transformative.

I thought they had limited mod support now like Fallout 4 on PS4/X1? Can't say I was a fan of Fallout 4 mods on PS4, although they were better on X1, the way they were limited meant all the types of mods I was into (full gameplay overhauls) were neutered across the board.

Mods can really transform Skyrim into basically any game you want it to be, but if you've never played the PC version and experienced the modding scene it has, then you can't miss it by playing any of the console versions.

It's good game, a bad RPG, could be better but still enjoyable without mods.

legit think odyssey is a better game, but thats because it has more of what im looking for in a game.

Anyone get Fire Emblem Warriors?. Ended up getting it thanks to the TRU glitch and it 's pretty damn fun. I loved what I played of Hyrule Warriors Legends and this is pretty much a sequel to it with a different franchise. The QoL improvements are great like how the ai is actually useful when you're not controlling characters.

Additionally, Nintendo will be announcing a partnership with Devolver Digital to bring many of their titles to the Switch. The Japanese stream will also announce the localisation of several of their untranslated titles.

Beyond this the Switch's paid online scheme will be a major focus, along with the reveal of a new Game Pass/Origin Access style system for playing old Nintendo titles. You can subscribe to a specific system's titles, download, and play them freely so long as your subscription is active. It will launch in tandem with the paid online service and will feature NES and SNES titles only at the start, all from the Classic releases. Netplay will be enabled for specific games. There is no option to rent a game individually or permanently purchase any of them currently.

A system update for the Switch will also be coming in January.

I love the game. I've put about 40 hours in and have finished most of the history maps. Haven't unlocked Celica yet, but almost there.

Picked up gear club on Sunday. Its no Gran Turismo or Forza but it's a competent racing Sim. I really like the garage stuff so far. Biggest problem with it is the sound. If you got a nice sound system; in docked mode cars sound like the playing card in a bicycle spoke.

She really digs Shantae, but it's kind of complicated for her, so she mostly just ended up watching.

I really wish that virtual console existed/was up, since I think some old style platform new a perfect fit.

Kirby and Yoshi will probably also be great fits, but they are a ways off yet.

Just looking for something that's not too complicated, and not especially violent. Shantae level violence is fine.

Mario Kart 8. Its the only game my little cousins play when I bring my switch over. You can turn on assists so she can't fall off the track and there's auto accelerate. And maybe Mario. There's an assist mode and you can do co-op with the 2nd player controlling cappy. I personally haven't tried it though.

Yeah I play Mario kart with my 3 year old with assists and motion turned on. She loves it.

How is the online play for Doom, for example? I haven't played on Nintendo consoles since GameCube, so I have no idea how Nintendo online system works and if it's any good. Just thinking if there are players and are the connections ok.

Mario Kart 8 is perfect for children and less experienced gamers, it has a driving assist that helps the player not go off the track.

Can't speak for Doom but MK8, Splatoon 2 and ARMS all work well online in terms of connections and amount of players.
