FWIW: Fifa 18 on the Switch seems pretty good to me. Haven't played a Fifa game in years and I'm honestly terrible at it so don't burn me if it doesn't compare well to other versions.
I went into it looking for a football game on the Switch that's two player and that's exactly what I got.

You are in for a treat ;)
Don't forget to check the demos available in the e-shop. Octopath Traveler's demo is stellar !

I thought Nintendo fixed their account issues. Whats missing?
So I finally caved on FIFA 18 on the Switch after going backwards and forwards on it constantly since it came out.
+ Looks really nice on handheld
+ Online seasons works great. Smooth and quick to find games
+ UI is very quick and snappy. Love how quick matches load
+ Ultimate Team is more feature complete than expected. Was lead to believe it was a shell, but surprised to see the objectives and squad builder challenges here, alongside the usual modes
+ Plays a decent game of football, albeit noticeably more arcadey
- I didn't think there had been that many changes to career mode, but this feels noticeably bare bones compared to PS4.
- Looks pretty bad docked. Some performance hitches too during pre-match scenes
- Quick subs are sorely missing here
Overall though I'm impressed! This is objectively worse than the PS4 version yet still manages to feel fairly strong in it's own right, and is undoubtedly the version of this game I'll play the most. What's surprised me is that for the first time ever I can feel myself getting in deep with Ultimate Team. I dunno, something about it feels like a good fit for handheld play. Maybe it's the breadth of stuff you can toy around with and idle within that mode even if you've only got 10-15 minutes to spare.

Yes, the purchases are now tied to your account. I am even fine that you can only play the games on one device at the same time (though others do this better).
You have to deactivate your purchases on one console before you can play it on another. You can only deactivate your purchases yourself on the Switch directly though or you have to contact the Nintendo support.
In this day and age, it's just silly that Nintendo is still lacking behind literally everyone else.
By Xpike Go To PostFinally beat Zelda, ending was a bit…anti climatic?
Oh well, my Switch is ready for Mario
Thought it was a solid ending. A nice positive and uplifting end to the story.
The final boss was a little tame tho.

Can't wait for Mario!
Just looked through my digital games and I have 39...and yet, they will all take a backseat once Friday comes.
Currently playing Spelunker Party. Played the Japanese demo a few months ago and fell in love with it so a purchase was a no brainer.
I gotta give a shoutout to Death Squared. Great puzzle game that had me stumped on a few levels. I beat all the single player levels and I may eventually go back and try the co-op levels (that you can play solo).
A few other worthy mentions:
Slime-San
Implosion
Namco Museum (if only for Rolling Thunder lol)
Has Been Heroes

Some shit bugs (like player faces not loading in career mode) but it’s a solid Fifa game. I would say it’s my favourite since 12 and I put about 120 hours into that version.

By Sir_Caffeine Go To PostWhich one should I go for, SteamWorld or The Mummy Demastered? Can't decide, guess SteamWorld is bigger…but maan I do like the look of The Mummy…Personally I’d go with SWD2. Mummy Demastered sounds really short and frustrating at times from the few critical reviews I read. SWD2 is very polished and fun to play.
I’ll wait for a sale on that one (~$30 CAD for a ~5hrs game compared to my ~15hrs spent on completing SWD2).
Blossom Tales: The Sleeping King is coming out on Switch this winter:
Never heard about this game, but the trailer looked really good.
Another one to buy and put of playing because I have too many Switch games already! lol

Still don't have it, but will eventually pick it up.
Honestly not much software that interests me, which isn't already on ps4.
At the moment only Mario interests me.
Might get one early next year unless there are insane xmas sales.

Whoa this looks pretty awesome. One thing that stood out to me was the movement speed. Seems slow, but maybe game is like that for a reason. Love the 2D Zelda vibe though.

There's a Sonic Forces demo on the Japanese eShop but it's a strange one. You have 3 levels but you can only play each level for 1 minute at a time.

I'm not sure I've ever enjoyed a 2D Zelda clone. They usually feel like they are missing the little, intangible something that makes the Zelda games so special. This does look good though, so if I hear good impressions I might check this out though.
The Sonic demo is bad. 60 seconds for level is so dumb. You get one "tradicional" 3D level with side scrolling sections in a Green Hill type level, a side scrolling boss battle and a level with a custom character where you can choose what weapon/tool to use.
Game doesn't look great, tons of pop up.

Anyone here play Phantom Trigger or have any outstanding opinions on it? $7.49 is kinda tempting, but I dunno if it's enough to pull me away from Stardew and Mario in a couple days.
Last night I finished the main story of Fire Emblem Warriors on my TV. Today i went away on business so on the train journey started the history maps in handheld mode, then when I got to my hotel room I placed it in tabletop mode and continued where I left off.

i wouldve liked to at least be able to finish a single level in the sonic demo

A few criticisms for the Forces demo:
-60 seconds ain't enough to play these levels
-This might just be me but every character felt stiffer than any other boost game
-The modern level was really just boosting in a straight line. I only had to jump twice
-It seems like modern sonic may not have a drift, this may just be due to the level section though
-The oc character feels like they need an air dash or some other way of building up momentum quickly
-Classic sonics physics feel awful after Mania. His jump has too much weight to it and there's a delay to jumping after doing a spindash.
Overall though I still enjoyed what I played. Modern sonic still feels fun to play and the oc character has potential,I guess I'll just have to tolerate classic sonic.
Also my FC for the op: SW-4986-7188-8772
Edit: After playing the demo a bit more I actually have a few compliments for it:
-The graphics look great on handheld mode, really crisp and colourful
-The soundtrack is pretty good. Not as good as Generations, Colours or Unleashed but still great. Fist Bump is still awful though.
-I like the references to other Sonic games like the giant worm from Desert Ruins being in Green Hill

Yeah these were my two main criticisms. I didn't like the CaC controls they felt a bit er, off. I thought Eggman had a great model in the boss fight section but otherwise it's just a bit like... why structure the demo this way?

Had to return a Switch to Game as it arrived with scratches on the screen and was new. Very annoyed. Apparently the thing is prone to scratches as well and I never have had any luck with screen protectors.

I highly recommend the Orzly screen protector, available on Amazon for £9 (for two sheets).
I normally HATE screen protectors and have bodged up every single one I've ever tried to apply.. prior to this one. Honestly it pretty much fell into place and was a perfect application. Kinda felt foolproof actually.

I bought them and they arrived with blemishes that rendered them useless. I got a refund and have now bought amfilm protectors and will see how they go whenever a new switch arrives.

I don't really know what I want out of the Musou games, so I always question my purchases of them after a few hours, hopefully with everything else on the system I don't wear myself out so fast. Haven't played one since Fist of the North Star, so should be well refreshed.
