By Chie Satonaka Go To PostThey released a firmware update for the joycons recently. You'll need to go to system settings, then controllers and sensors, then update controllers. The joycons will need to be attached to update. Is this happening with the joycons attached or disconnected? or both?Just applied the update, thanks for that tip. It seems to only be happening while disconnected. I'll have to test it later.
Here is my friend code for the list as well.

By Method Go To PostSo how do you guys find yourselves using your switch? I've already taken advantage of handheld mode way more extensively than I thought I would. Wifey was watching TV and instead of not playing the console (which is usually what happens with my xbox one if she's using the main TV since that's where it's hooked up), I just undocked my switch and got an additional 2 or 3 hours of Zelda time and that was just fucking amazing. The screen on the switch is great and I can definitely see myself playing way more handheld / table top than i thought i would
I've probably used it docked once or twice since buying it. I overwhelmingly use it as a handheld.
I just realized no more GAF means the thread about $7 for $10 worth of eshop credit deal thread is gone. Anyway I'll bookmark it but if I forget to make a thread check here. About twice a month pcgamesupply offers $10 of eshop credit for $7. They're legit have bought like $50 worth of credit so far.

By doctorwashington Go To PostHey everybody!
Anyone picked up Wulverblade yet? It looks amazing for co-op fun, but I just picked up Mass Effect for a song. I need something to get away from that for a bit. Thoughts?
I purchased Wulverblade when it came out but sadly I haven't played since. Got caught up in other games but from what I've played, its a good game.
The developer really went out of his way to research history and capture pictures from the real world that were the inspiration for this game. You can see some of these pictures and videos in the history and story menu.
A ton of concept art to unlock as well as 56 in game achievements.
There are leaderboards but sadly it looks to be local only.
As far as game modes go, there's Arena, which is wave based. You can choose what wave to start on as well. 7 different environments to play on.
There's a Normal campaign, where you have checkpoints and unlimited continues. Then there's Arcade, where you get 1 continue and that's it. In both modes, you have 3 lives.
There's a 3rd mode which is locked. That's probably DLC for a later time.
Of course, all 3 modes are playable in local co-op.
You can earn a rank after each level depending how well you do. Rank 3 is the max.
There's a timer for each level but this timer only affects how much bonus score you get at the end.
In terms of moves, you can look at the picture I posted above to see the basic moves all characters share.
Once per level, you can use a special move where you call wolves to attack the enemy. You can also earn "Rage" by hitting enemies. Once the Rage bar is full, you can activate it to attack faster and you won't take damage for a few seconds.
You can dismember enemies, pick up their head or arm and throw it at other enemies.
I haven't played beyond stage 1 so I can't comment on how the difficulty or quality is later on but from what I've played, it fun. Co-op should provide a good time.

I might not even get a tv for my new place lol. Not sure what do to with all the blu rays and ps4 stuff tho. The sleep mode of the switch is god sent. It's so much easier to just jump right back into any game.
By Chie Satonaka Go To PostI have 18 physical games, I'm the one with a problem, lol.
Ahaha.
Most of mine are digital. There’s too much to play. I’m finished the Rayman Legends & the Splatoon 2 SP campaign & now I’m working on Mario + Rabbids, Stardew Valley & I picked up Fire Emblem Warriors. Plus, Super Mario Odyssey is out on Friday ... so yeah.

To quote gaf... Something starved.. only game I regretted picking up was the fate night warriors game just because fire emblem warriors is a much superior game in almost every aspect.
I've been playing almost exclusively in handheld mode. Sometimes I like just stretching out on the bed, resting my beat up old man body, and playing some Zelda. Also my TV is only 720p, and my bad eyesight makes it difficult to read any text. I'm old and tired.
By francokid10 Go To PostIs there a Xenoblade 2 JP twitter thread? I liked following that thread on GAF
Yeah that thread was super informative.

By John Rabbit Go To PostJust applied the update, thanks for that tip. It seems to only be happening while disconnected. I'll have to test it later.Hmm. Do you have a clear line of sight between your joycons and the Switch itself? And it's only the right one? Hopefully the update addresses this. If not, you can contact Nintendo and get them to fix it. If you've just had it for a week you are easily under warranty. They're pretty quick about getting it back to you, and for free of course (I've not had to send anything in for repairs, but this was the impression I got from people who had repairs done on their joycons from GAF).

I have a Mario Odyssey bundle on pre-order and I have to say I had no idea that Nintendo was still using friend codes until I saw all of you listing yours. This is definitely disappointing. Not as disappointing as the saves not being transferrable to the cloud or to a memory card, but disappointing none-the-less. Still looking forward to getting it. Gonna retire my PS4 until Spiderman.
By joefu Go To PostSerious lack of Golf Story talk happening in this thread….Ok, on a scale from Wacky World of Miniature Golf, to Ninja Golf on the 7800, how good is it
By Bumhead Go To PostYeah it would deffo be one or the other. I'd likely trade the PS4 version.Sorry for the late reply. When you say sliders do you mean like this:
How about the gameplay sliders? Are they in the Switch version do you know?
If yes I'm pretty sure it does.
By VendettaRed07 Go To PostOk, on a scale from Wacky World of Miniature Golf, to Ninja Golf on the 7800, how good is itUh I've never played any of those, but it's a great game

Superb - thanks for the feedback mate.
By joefu Go To PostSerious lack of Golf Story talk happening in this thread….I bought it the day it came out and haven't even been able to play it yet.
Way too much stuff to play and it's only getting more and more crazy.
I'll have 14 physical releases by the end of the week. Maybe 15 if Tiny Barbarian DX shows up as well.
And I don't know how many digital games I have at this point. All I can say is that it includes every single Neo Geo game. :D
And I'm going to get every Psykio release the moment they get released.
edit: Speaking of the devil, my mailman just rang my doorbell.

Nice to see this game do well. Played around in the phone version. I remember reading that this would get physical controls someday? Still waiting on that before I pick it up

Really hope for a good OT for this game. Still surprised that they managed to release it in 2017. What a wonderful year for gaming
Genuine question. Been considering a switch or a 2ds (xl?) for my niece.
I regularly end up having to look after her for days at a time, and i think it would potentially be a good way to get her to focus on something for more than 5 seconds at a time.
Is there a clear leader in the choice? I lean towards the 2ds purely so she can take it back to her mums also...

Well if you intend to game with her the switch is a simple choice. Lack of style savvy on the switch tho...

We're also going camping soon (with powered sites ) ... and i'd like to be able to have a few quiet beers in the afternoon.
It's not entirely a un-selfish present :P

Well to be honest if she is a younger kid I believe 2ds will suit her well due to the vast library of games that's already out Not to mention Ds games. Stuff like Nintendo dog, style savvy, elite beat agents etc

Probably the 2DS since it has a larger library and cheaper.
If she's heavily into that then consider the Switch as a gift down the road.
... you just had to pull the "go catch Mewtwo and I'll be right there" tactic while getting drunk :P
I' ve never interacted with Nintendo gaf community but followed them extensively.
Hopefully I can change that with SALENT.

Made some progress in Mario + Rabbids yesterday. Got to World 4-5. Hoping I can beat it before Odyssey comes out.
I'll add all of your Friend Codes to the op later today. Welcome!
By joefu Go To PostGD. SMTV teaser looked good. Kinda sad gaf dead. Switch exclusive would have brought meltdownsYea it totally would have but.. Oh well. Maybe we are better without so many meltdowns all the damn time a game is announced as an exclusive lol

By joefu Go To PostGD. SMTV teaser looked good. Kinda sad gaf dead. Switch exclusive would have brought meltdownsHmm, I must be out of the loop as I always pegged this game to be a Switch exclusive.
The bigger surprise for me would have been if it did get a PS4 port. seeing as how SMT was focussed on DS/3DS for a while now. So continuing the series on Switch is only logical.
By meppi64 Go To PostHmm, I must be out of the loop as I always pegged this game to be a Switch exclusive.Lots of people were like "it gonna go multiplatform, makes no sense for Switch only" despite the game being shown during the January reveal lol.

Every time I see a game announced for PS4 that I'm interested in, I wish it would come to Switch as well. ;)
And that's coming from someone with 140 physical PS4 games and countless more digital ones.
It's also why I tended to pick up games like Toukiden 2 on the Vita instead of PS4. Portability really started to become a major advantage for me over the past 4 years or so, even though it never bothered me much before.
So getting a system with the best of both worlds has my it my preferred system, even in such a short while.
Now get me a Switch EDF game and Gundam Breaker 4 as well already! Oh, and Nuclear Throne while you're at it! ;)
Should i buy Fate/stay Extella?
And Gundam Breakers 4 would be great. Along with Enter the Gungeon.
Im juat happy the switch is getting the attention the vita lacked.

Just started Fire Emblem Musou and it seems like it has a bunch of refinements so I'm enjoying it a lot.
Been a while since I played my last musou game though, must have been last year already. But I'm ready for the onslaught that's coming.
Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires
Samurai Warriors: Spirit of Sanada
Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate
And I'll gladly double dip on them. The only one I haven't played yet is Spirit of Sanada.
I'm just hoping they get a physical western release...
Speaking of which, we're not getting Dragon Quest Heroes over here, are we?
It's still up on Base for preorder, but as 2 separate games for some reason. Yet I can't find any new info on a western release. :(
Oh and I'm right there for Enter the Gungeon! One of my favourite PS4 games. So glad it's coming to Switch before the end of the year.
