For a while now my Switch was kinda collecting dust but ever since Stardew dropped I've more or less resigned my life to it. I'd already put 50-ish hours into the PC version last year but having it in a portable fashion is a game changer. Only my boy Mario can free me from these farming shackles now.
So I'm posting from what once was the general nintendo community on neogaf. Are there threads for specific nintendo games here on this site or do we talk about all games in this thread? Like OTs and stuff?

I have trolled Nintendo for their consoles for the last decade (had both the Wii and Wii U but hated both). I LOVE the switch. Only have BOTW so far but can't wait for Mario. So difficult to go back to PS4 after the Switch. The pick up and go is just so seamless and good.
It’s also nice to play games on a system that doesn’t feel like it’s prioritizing other stuff. Don’t get me wrong, media stuff on PS4 is fine, but sometimes I just want to zone out and not get swarmed by THE INTERNET MEDIA LANDSCAPE, and Switch just cuts the bullshit.
I am starting to doubt we will ever see a Virtual Console on the Switch. We will see some NES games and that will probably be it, at least for a while.

Like, we got nothing but the NES versions of games like Donkey Kong for 12 years and pretended like your arcade era never existed and ... now your just going to give us arcade titles and ditch VC... ok..? Lol

I'm aware of all the differences between the two versions and already own it on PS4. But remarkably few of the missing features on Switch would bother me, and for single player career mode (my bread and butter) I can't help but keeping thinking I wish I was playing on Switch.

Looks likes Slaent already has a good sized Nintendo community, awesome. About to start playing Stardew Valley again, I'm at 32 since it came out earlier this month. Been meaning to play more Fire Emblem Awakening and Mario+Rabbids before Odyssey comes out, but my farm is calling.

The Limited Run stuff is really iffy to me and I was hoping they wouldn't get into it but I haven't had too many problems buying stuff from them in the past. I got Wonder Boy, Night Trap and Ys Origin at least but I think the Switch stuff will be more difficult. I guess we'll see what their stock numbers look like and the console's popularity when they finally get stuff out. I will destroy everything to get a physical cart of Golf Story though.

So I'm about a week into owning a Switch and I'm not sure what the deal is but does anyone else have issues with certain buttons on the joy-con (seems like the right one mostly) just not responding/doing anything?
It's especially noticeable in something like Steamworld Dig 2 during wall-jumps. The button just stops working for a few presses occasionally.

Well, seeing as this place is basically a fresh start from gaf I might as well try to be more active than before. FC is SW-4214-9969-2785. I'll add those listed in the OP later today. Thinking about trying to get some MK8 races in before Odyssey drops on Friday.

Yeah it would deffo be one or the other. I'd likely trade the PS4 version.

They've also patched games that had egregious issues.

You'll need to go to system settings, then controllers and sensors, then update controllers. The joycons will need to be attached to update. Is this happening with the joycons attached or disconnected? or both?

I ordered the 8bitdo SFC30 to play 2d games on the switch. Does anyone have experience with these controllers? My pro controllers d-pad isn't very good and I hope this one works better.

The emulation on the nes/snes classic is done by NERD (Nintendo European Research and Development), a small studio Nintendo owns in Paris.

The metal slug games are a lot of fun, I have the 3rd one on Switch. Right now 1,2,3, and X are on the eshop. I would probably recommend staying away from 2, it has a lot of slowdown (and X is just a remixed version of two with less slowdown). All the Metal Slugs have a bit of slowdown (which was present on the original hardware). As far as other Neogeo games, I would heavily recommend Neo Turf Masters, it's a really fun arcadey golf game, played it the most out of all the Neogeo games I've played on Switch.
