Might switch my ropecaster out for the War Bow
Never use the ropecaster, and could do with being able to freeze enemies in a pinch instead of relying on the slingshot

By NinjaFridge Go To PostQuestion for someone who has finished the game.Nope.
I'm about to go under Sunfall and Sylens is telling me to get all my errands and shit sorted. Is this the end?
Use the Tallneck to disperse an EMP to take every bots HP down by half, then pluck off some Snapmaws with double fire arrows. Easy.
Am I free to sell Ancient Chimes, Toothpicks, etc or are they for trading as well? Ditto for Machine Cores.

I love the war bow for just hitting exposed canisters though. Also, when shit hits the fan, corrupted arrows do work.
Ropecaster is ace in the right situations. Brings the ho out of certain machines.
Yeh I constantly switch out. Shame they didn't have a system where each quad on the weapon wheel was a weapon type that you could cycle through in gameplay. Messy going into the menu to switch around
Yea ditto, that'd be nice.
Getting to the meatier parts of the story. The story seems to be fleshed out quite well.

Ok I'll admit it the game was good
I still hated the first five hours but it's gotten better in gameplay and story the further it goes.

How are the differences between performance and visual quality mode?
This game came out of nowhere to amaze me. I hadn't followed it since the reveal trailer.
8 hours in, it's definitely my GOTY so far (and I have Zelda BOTW)

This game keeps on giving. Just running errands in new areas so I can purchase some weapons because I'm missing some Watcher/Trampler hearts, climbing Longnecks, figuring out cool new ways to defeat these bots. Love how varied each zone is.
By DY_nasty Go To PostI'd rather fight 10 sawtooths than a single rockbreakerfought two today... #nope
Also really regret not getting a shadow sniper bow sooner
Took on some Sawtooths and a Rockbreaker joined the fight. From half a mile at that. Was wondering WTF these giant boulders were coming from lmao.
The corrupted zone with two rock breakers is fucking absurd. You think you're doing okay then glinthawks fuck your shit up.
Glinthawks suck, too. I just wanna jog to a save point and all the sudden I'm getting pelted with ice.
So can you aim with gyro in this game? That shit needs to be standard. Especially on PS4 exclusives.
Is there any DLC planned at all?
Very nearly finished it, and as much as I like it I see very little replay value in games like this.

By DY_nasty Go To PostAlso the witcher comparisons make no sense to me
Its got more in common with dragons dogma and even the arkham series than TW3
I can't speak to DD but the melee options are more wonky than Arkham. I compare the dialogue to Mass Effect because of how awkward and unnatural it is.
Did my first core or whatever. Good game so far. Have not had a "holy shit" moment yet. This game really needs an encounter with a character I give a shit about. Actually, that woman who interpreted everything that AI says after the Proving as something from the All Mother was amusing. Fitted armor dude who hunts bandits for fun is post-apocalypse Casey Jones. The war chief is Ms. Hard Ass.
Give me something that isn't a trope, plz.
I'll be putting more hours into this. Won't be able to play Zelda again until Friday, so Horizon it is.
By Phoenix RISING Go To PostGive me something that isn't a trope, plz. This irony just murdered all other irony.

If you were really trying to be a smartass, you could have said "Good guy quests to defeat evil," implicating practically every mainstream video game (to stay within genre), but you ain't that sweet.

What a great game. Time for the Platinum clean up
I actually got it soon after completing the game. The trophy set is no nonsense, you pretty much get them all playing normally.

Has anyone made a story timeline yet? I like how Faro's twattishness actually makes sense, he's not evil just for the sake of being a villain

Sounds like an entry to add to the ad-hoc TOS.
I need to sink about7 hours into this game over the next 17 hours. Accumulating evidences talk a guy down the cliff of giving this a 10. I'm at the part where you find Olin.
Man I wish I had mad time to sink into it.. I get at most an hour of play in here and there. Then I get sidetracked by hunting for parts and shit.. lol

To be honest, considering your account status is it wise to picking at this scab?

I don't know what you mean by "account status," but if we're speaking in metaphors, wounds heal, but scars remain.
I do find it interesting that yall find it good sport in provoking me, but when I knuckle up, yall start threatening me with weapons. I guess yall ain't seen Friday.
I finished the Olin quest. I was expecting to have to fight some kind of big bad, or meet some tough, high-ranking NPC, but no. It was a random bandit camp where his family was held, with a basic heavy gunner as the "boss." LOL!
Did a couple other sidequests and...it all feels like busy work. The only "payoff" I seem to get are from cauldrons and long necks. I would have just powered through the story if the next two stages (homie knows his sister isn't dead; I gotta to someplace where the woman who looks like me might have been seen) were not 2000+ range away and I didn't have to go on foot because striders are so far away.

Got the platinum today, which was pretty easy. I decided to do some exploring and found a few things I missed on my playthrough. I missed the guy who drinks the machine blood and the area that used to be a wind farm. No reason to go there but it's pretty neat all the same. Also the end scene when Aloy finds Sobeck's body made me feel like a real dick for picking the metal flowers.

Iknow what Zero Dawn is. Roll Credits?
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostTrading this in today. A bit sad to be doing so. It was a good game.Same
Think I'm done with keeping games I have no intention of replaying. Great game, but can't see myself playing it again, got everything out of it except for the random datapoints and glyphs around the world.
Just got to the section with (2) sawtooths for some side quest rescuing a partying in some ancient ruined buildings. I found the fight to be easier than the lone sawtooth earlier in the game because the door ways in the building were easy to lay traps while the previous sawtooth was out in the open.
