By reilo Go To PostHuman combat is Garbo lolBullet time all day
By FlutterPuffs Go To PostCombat and controls is the best thing about the game.Unless you're trying to climb something or melee another human lol
Controls are almost perfect. Responsive and tight.
Also think the fov is a bit off...
Other than that? Outstanding.
Early days for me, but getting a very Witcher 3 vibe, right down to the Witcher sense and commentary.
So ugh, I was pretty blown away by the early stuff, but now that I proceeded more in the story and got out of the comforting confines of the beginning area... holy fucking titballs. My first Longneck 😳🤤
I think the inventory is good its just the stupid decision of having multiple versions of the same weapon with different ammo
By reilo Go To PostTalking with DY a bit about this, but the inventory menu needs a complete overhaul. It's not good. Not only the menu, but Inventory is pretty useless by midgame. You can easily get all of the items you need, making rare loots pointless.

By Dark PhaZe Go To Postthe banuk rewards are awful lmaoall of them are, flowers, vessels, banuks
they gave me like 6 boxes of resources
trash
You'd think you'd get something half decent for collecting all of them, but nope.
Bit strange to get the best in class weapons and outfit like a tenth of the way into the game, hoping there's another tier to come (done all the available sidequests, not sure how far into the story I am) but doubt it
Really like the way the main story is split between the mysteries of the past, and emergencies of the present. Just done the mission where you find out how (probably don't read unless you've finished it) the apocalypse happened, and am about to meet up with Erend to identify his sister's body. (In fiction, the words 'the body was unrecognisable' make me about 95% sure that there's some fuckery going on.)
Hope there's more to it than Aloy being a result of in vitro fertilisation, they're teasing that far too obviously for it to be a satisfying answer. Can't wait to see how Rost and his banishment from the tribe folds back into the story.

Game needs to add anti freeze components in the taint of all the bots to prevent the game from being too easy and make heavy weapon components unable to be picked up
I've taken to initiating with tearblast, then freeze slingshot, then whichever arrows suit the occasion between normal, hardpoint and precision. None of the robots have an answer to it.

she cute
^^not necessary
also, if horizon 2 has melee combat, rideable stormbirds, better human combat, cool loot to find by exploring and is better balanced then it'll be amazing.

Ah yeah, coop would be dope, hell they could add it in as dlc and it'd work perfect.
Dragons dogma should have been coop too.

Opened the game last night and got a couple hours under my belt. Excited to dive into it more this weekend.
I will say one thing I love about the game design. Seems like they made a lot of the game with the idea that you could play the game in 30 mins stints of 5 hours stints.. missions are like the perfect length. (sometimes the fetching can get OLD but hey... )
can't stop taking pics. the in game models(same as cutscene) are the best ever. I didn't think UC4 would be beaten so quickly.
I didn't think that foliage denisty was possible this gen, uncharted's impressed me as well but Horizon takes it to another level. I remember when FFXV was first shown and it had tons and tons of lush grass but then they downgraded the fuck out of it so it so there were only a few patches of grass. Horizon has me looking at every dev sideways.
they definitely should have added an animation so that Alloy just doesn't phase through all the foliage except for the stealth grass.

Couple of things I'd like to see fixed in an upcoming patch:
1) Inventory overhaul. Just a terrible idea to present items in a chalk-drawing icon that all look too similar from each other and the only way to identify them is by selecting them. No bueno
2) Sorting/filtering of inventory. Kinda obvious
3) Better equipment comparison
Things that'd be dope in the sequel:
1) More human-to-human combat options. If you're gonna ape other open world games, then you might as well ape MGSV's human-to-human combat
2) Provide me with a slingshot that shoots tiny pellets that explode on impact and sedate humans, which you can craft from harvesting certain plants. Think of it as an equivalent to a tranq gun
3) Being able to choke and drag a human, or kill them with a small knife. The "stealth" human kill isn't stealth at all lol
4) When facing a larger group of humans, it'd be dope if one or two of the humans in the pack carried Focuses and were able to track your character and coordinate the other enemy combatants towards you. The challenge would be to take out these one or two Focus enabled humans first
Basically, fix the human combat by taking a cue from MGSV in that gameplay department with the introduction of more stealthy maneuvers.

I think they will fix the human on human combat if there is a number 2.. Seems like it wouldn't be too hard. A lot of the problems come from the camera I think... Fighting mechs you need the screen, even when zoom aiming, to be wide. It doesn't adjust when fighting puny humans..
There;s definitely going to be a number 2. Dev budget was only 45M(crazy) and the judging from the reports, sales seem fantastic.
Sony gave GG five entries for Killzone, they're surely gonna give them a second for a game receiving high praise lol.

Pretty much, lol. Merida still looks better with a line for a nick and a perfect circle for a head.
Sat down with Horizon Zero Dawn up until Alloy is grown. The 30 fps is really irritating me, especially because the developers rendered people with photorealism,. I remember not linking The Last of Us as much as I could have due to he 30 FPs lock. But yes, the game looks great on PS4. I have not experienced the "can't put this down" feeling of BotW, event...yet? It's gonna be an uphill fight to be a Witcher 3 killer tho.
By blackace Go To Postwhy?because its absolutely ridiculous
swan dive
half turn
major league arm to throw the hook straight against gravity like that
barehanded slide down
da fuq did I just watch

Also the witcher comparisons make no sense to me
Its got more in common with dragons dogma and even the arkham series than TW3

Its actually got more in common with DD than I thought now that I think of it...
The openworld layout is remarkably similar

Man, that corrupted area with TWO rock breakers had me die like 5 times before I realized I could break their arms and legs so they couldn't go underground and that they cant actually see me and detected sound.
Question for someone who has finished the game.
I'm about to go under Sunfall and Sylens is telling me to get all my errands and shit sorted. Is this the end?

By Hitch Go To PostReally like the way they're building up the story around the apocalypseYeah, it's really fucked up when you think about it.
Edited because my phone made me look stupid
