By s y Go To Postimo the face nidels might be the best i've ever seen. and the variety is insane!but they all look like chubby teenagers... It's not a knock on the game
The gameplay this far is engaging too. Some bad wheel of dialog stuff but whatevs this game is real.
I'm very early (3 hours, made it to Mother's Heart), but this game is... everything. It has some minor quibbles that I hate about this genre, and that's the dialog wheel and cliche character interaction between Aloy and the NPCs. The VA is ok, a bit stiff and unnatural in those scenarios. Side quests are your whatever side quests, can't be arsed about them beyond the EXP.
But everything else? My fucking lawd did they nail it. It being the atmosphere and the world and the combat and the sense that this world is alive and breathing. I absolutely detested that about the last Elder Scrolls game: everything felt barren and dead and the characters and enemies were ugly and not satisfying to fight. I ran around for hours feeing lonely and isolated, but not here. But most importantly with ES, the plot didn't hook me at all. This however has me intrigued and wanting to keep progressing while at the same time giving the freedom of this lush world to explore.
But like I said, it's early yet. I'm curious to engage in human combat because that doesn't sound fun as some of you reported, but everything from crafting to fighting beasts and the gorgeous graphics is just top notch. I can't believe this was made by Guerilla Games and I feel like I haven't truly hit the wow moments yet. The music, BTW, might be some of the best I've heard in games.

By Dark PhaZe Go To PostWhat's the best armor psyAncient armor, but you cant complete that quest until you're well late in the game.
Same with the heavy shadow carja armor.
Other than those two, its a toss up. I just use the Nora protector medium because it looks the best. So mod which ever one you like.
The shadow and ancient armor are the best though with the ancient armor kind of breaking the end game with how OP it is.

I mean you can stealth your way through alot of human encounters, which is enjoyable to some degree.
In the end, it's just not that exciting and you're used to fight all those gigantic robots with a variety of weapons, while you mainly use your bow and get some headshots done on humans.
The only way to truly enjoy human combat is to go completely rambo. Bust through the gates with blast sling, slo-mo headshot and slides all over the shop..
Try it!

Not sure how many studios they have but they need to expand if they only have one. I like Horizon but Sony needs a great exclusive first party shooter badly. So I'd like to see another Killzone that's hopefully good this time.

By Smokey Go To PostPhaze how that thang looking on the ks8000
its aite, I aint really tripping over it like everybody else
don't get me wrong it's definitely a looker but I don't think you would be blown away--if you're thinking about moving up your TV purchase date based on the hype I'd definitely hold off

def not just for horizon lol
Ofc these console plebs are blown away, just curious from a PC player perspective

You can attach multiple tripcaster cables to a detonating blast trap: when one tripwire is triggered, the D.B. trap goes off and triggers all the other tripwires attached to it.:o
You can also string a single tripwire between two detonating blast traps.
You can make over-elaborate, over-engineered traps with this. It creates a lot of boom.

I meannnnnn just because it's CoD....doesnt mean he's wrong. The game looks pretty good in SP.

if it was a sony exclusive there would have been a thread dedicated to gifs from the campaign on the other site
Infinite Warfare looked generic af in most parts. I saw enough SP gameplay videos of it to judge it. Just because it had a scene or two that looked great doesn't mean most of it is a generic corridor/small room shooter.

COD: "Play 8 hours of shit to capture 10 minutes of good moments. Give us $60. Plus DLC."
The game has more than 10 minutes of good graphics. I didn't claim that IW was the better game nor did I talk about gameplay. From a graphics standpoint the IW campaign is a must play visually for anyone who cops a 4k OLED or KS8000 + Ps4 Pro.
And half the game is space dog fights both on planet and in space + zero g shooting but aite I'm sure it was just another corridor shooter

😏
By DY_nasty Go To PostCoD had some good set pieces but that's faaaaaar from the technical display in other games.Seriously, that's what I'm trying to get at. Most of the game is the same shit you see in MP.
And it's not like I shit on other premier FPS like what DICE does with Battlefield. BF1 looks impressive in ways that COD does not.

we're starting to get into thread derail territory, but if you're also looking for a game to show off your TV RE7 is pretty good for 4k HDR--very immersive experience if you can deal with the horror
By Smokey Go To PostWho's playing this on a 4k TV + pro? Just phaze and DY?Yeah.
I'm thinking Faze is just jaded tho lol. I don't agree at all about RE7 either. That game only shines in VR imo... it just doesn't set itself apart really.

re7 aint great graphically, but its a great title for testing out a new set given 4k + HDR + the necessity of having a TV that can do good blacks
One thing I love about Horizon is the performance. I can't remember a single time the frame rate has dropped and there are a ton of explosions and situations where you'd normally expect slow down.
Tearblast arrows are op as fuck
Trivialise the fights against lone robots, even thunderjaws and stormbirds
Kinda wish they'd nerf them tbh

By blackace Go To PostThis type of face popped up a lot so farReally? I don't see that at all. It's one of the most impressive aspects, unlike, the witcher or bethesda games, I've yet to come across two of the same NPC faces and I've seen that being praised too. They all seem unique and hand modeled. It's especially staggering considering the amount of sidequests & errands.
I both love and hate how destructive the heavy weapons are
"yall fucked up" whenever I get my hands on one, but tying down a thunderjaw as he watches me pick up his doom gun is just unfair

Controls are almost perfect. Responsive and tight.
