reilo vs bbb
who you got?
By giririsss Go To PostHe certainly under valued nurk. The Nuggets improved by leaps and bounds once they gave up on playing Nurkic big minutes and handed the show over to Jokic.
But at the same time, toxic locker rooms can ruin good players.
Early in the season, Denver played both bigs and it was terrible. Jokic came to Malone and asked to come off the bench to see if that was the issue. They tried that for a while and it was a marginal improvement, but the minutes with him and Nurkic on the floor together were still terrible.
So they then flipped who was starting and who came off the bench. Results were fantastic. The more they reduced the minutes Jokic played without Nurkic while increasing the minutes and role of Jokic, the better the team did.
Behind the scenes, Nurkic was angry and pouty.
The Denver GM should have made a better trade than he did, but I don't know what the market for him was at the time. He may have hurt his own value by being the only guy on the Nuggets who didn't play well with Jokic and also with his response to coming off the bench.

I mean one of the most explosive bigs went for Buddy.. Okafor was out there as well..

Seems like they got what they could for him... but giving up a pick as well was dumb..
seeing dumbasses put tatum above fultz on their draft lists

im not a hater, but how does this dude go to 4 different teams, suck at all of them - then get a guaranteed deal?
By DY_nasty Go To Postand now george hill is about to get paidI like Hill but i kinda hope we don't pay him.

Like i don't know what the alternative is but dude is going to want like $25 mil a year or some shit

By DY_nasty Go To Postim not a hater, but how does this dude go to 4 different teams, suck at all of them - then get a guaranteed deal?He did his role as well as could be expected for the Pels. The only reason they cut him is because *shock* he got injured and they had too many other injured players and needed the roster spot to get a 10-day guy in.

There probably is, but this isn't the time of year when anybody wants to fuck around with acclimating guys to the big league. At least you know Lance knows what to do and can still annoy somebody for 5 minutes in the playoffs if it comes to that.

Nostalgia and as we seem with Howard a few years ago (when it failed) and D Jordan (when it succeeded) sometimes FO grab a players friend in hopes they will be able to pull a Clippers/D Jordan FA and guilt them into staying.

So, this came up in another forum I talk NBA in but did you guys know James Harden is better by far than anyone else in the league at drawing fouls on 3pt shots?
Yes. I did know that because I follow 538. Dude baits 3pt fouls like nobody else. The NBA even instated new rules a couple of years ago to discourage it, but Harden still gets them called in his favor.
nic batum tries to bait more than he tries to make 3s so i'm not shocked at all he's that high on the list
kemba tho
to go from being completely disrespected behind the arc to people falling over themselves trying to stop him.... gaddamn that's my pg

The fact that Curry has the most attempts (+35) and has only 22 (-86) of those called in his favor is astounding.
By s y Go To PostYeah I posted that earlier, everybody was too much in-awe to really discuss it though.I couldn't remember if I had seen it here or on my twitter feed. A Heat fan had noted that Dragic was real good at drawing that type of foul and was wondering if anyone else was good at that. I remembered that article existed and grabbed a couple screenshots from it.

Yeah, that is what makes those numbers for Harden particularly astounding. He throws up so many 3pt shots and still has the highest rate of drawn fouls on them. It's very impressive.
I still hate watching his foul baiting ways, though, despite their proven effectiveness.

But that's on two things - Kerr's love affair with that motion/pass the ball all over the place nonsense and the fact that Curry was raised better
By DY_nasty Go To Postthe fact that Curry was raised betterSo what you're saying is that Curry isn't a dick?

Despite bouncing around, the guy's shot .474 on the season. And even though he's another guy who you'd swear has been around since the malice at the palace he's still only 26. I'm sure there were 2-3 teams who were desperate for warm veteran bodies who could play D so it took a real offer to get him.
All that said you're right, it's a pretty pointless move that ties up a roster spot for a couple of years with a flawed player and won't move the needle.
By reilo Go To PostSo what you're saying is that Curry isn't a dick?Curry's a dick, but at least he intends to see who's better at basketball...
Harden is that guy who always hands his friends the controller with the short in it before playing any fighting games
Reading this article, and oh my god the shade:
Consider the Knicks in New York, where for years the mere thought of a European big made fans cower in painful remembrance of Vince Carter savagely dunking on a Knicks first-round draft pick, the Frenchman Frederic Weis, in the 2000 Summer Olympics. But whatever future there is under Phil Jackson, whose presidential approval rating is worse than Trump’s, rests on the baby foreign giants, Kristaps Porzingis and Willy Hernangomez.http://sports.yahoo.com/news/with-the-rise-of-euro-big-men-has-the-nba-actually-caught-up-to-the-european-game-175315716.html
