Everyone should be prepared to be disappointed by any non Cleveland team in the east playoffs. They can't be trusted
By livefromkyoto Go To PostEverybody loves to hate on the Clippers but there are 25 teams in the league who would kill to have their sustained success. Too many fans out there believing their management's stories about how they're not like those other teams that settle for becoming good, no, they're building for a championship!Everyone loves to hate on one of the douchiest teams put together that regularly underperform and regularly shit the bed finding fantastic new ways to lose games from unlosable positions? (Brewer / Josh Smith stand up!)
when people say treadmill they mean a team that barely makes the playoffs and when they do, they are either swept or nearly swept. And there is nothing that can be done to change it. That is the death sentence.
The Clippers are beyond that...even if just slightly because they have the talent to at the very least put up a fight in the second round every year and had chances to improve just based off of having actual talent.and not role players masquerading as go to scorers.
Which is also why the everyone who isn't the Cavs or Warriors should tank motto is a bit overstated but close enough because a lot of teams have doomed themselves into being pretty treadmilly. The Pistons bet heavy on Drummond and Jackson taking that next step...and welp they didn't. Now it is easy to say well just blow that shit up...but that means giving up on two guys not even in their prime....which is hard to do. So they'll keep hoping against hope for a few more years instead of potentially giving up too soon. Shit is hard.
I've seen both sides of the tank or not debate. Tanking sucks. Having to hope some random 18 year old can save your franchise and having to get mad when your team wins...only to quickly find out they either can't or won't for a while is some soul crushing shit. But I am not going to act like having to watch Andre Miller violently pumpfake us into the playoffs only to get bodied and pick up more role player level dudes was fun either. I don't think its championship or bust that would make me enjoy it again...but rather just being apart of the race, having a chance (even if small in reality), having a guy who can be built around and might even attract actually good players for 7 years is well worth it.
so I'd gladly be Clipper good. I think most teams would...

Clippers can't be the douchiest team when Douchemond, Beta, and the Dubs exist.
Also, I am in Kyoto right now... so far from Tokyo. :<

I saw the Warriors make the playoffs once in 18 years, I'd agree with this.

His game is kobe'esque too because he is great at creating space for himself..... but thats not meme worthy

I actually like the Celtics.... Toronto is aight I guess too.
I mean 32 (or is it 33?) year old Lebron, whole season the cavs are not really healthy so no opportunity to gel...... I expect the Cavs to work in the ECF and say both those teams have a "chance" as much as any non-warriors team has a chance out west. Maybe even more considering the warriors are really that stacked......
By reilo Go To PostAdam, you're not gonna win this argument.
Saying that the Clips are the douchiest team is about as reasonable as saying that the Blazers are a relevant team.
Aka, something not true.
See, look at that Adam. The Clippers are so douchy that it made our Resident Good Guy™ act like a douche. You weren't like this pre-CP3/Griffin.

They are probably going to let KCP walk because "fool me three times...." is not something SVG does. Also I think reggie gets shopped pretty hard. Drummond is the only one there who is All-Star worthy the rest are starter worthy at best
I get the feeling that most people are apathetic to the Clips more than anything, especially their user base. To be truly hated you have to be a great team, which they aren't.
The days of people displaying schadenfreude with them are over, since most people know that they ain't s*** and are going to flame out in the first or second round as usual.

By s y Go To PostWIzards are my dark horse.
Oh yeah Wizards got a chance too, but their young. I feel like that core next year is going to be a problem
I feel for what the team went through in 2014, but that doesn't give them an excuse to act the way they do. I mean I didn't want to say anything but our players don't sexually harass and punch staff members in the face, or put a team member under house arrest because apparently they aren't close enough to stay together otherwise, or harass their former significant other for wanting an abortion, and not counting the other antics that happen by the team on a every game basis. Having a coach that enables that sort of culture just makes the issue worse.
I think our owner is a piece of shit and all, and our power forward has a lot of behavioral issues, but let's not act like that's anywhere near the same realm as that.
Since purging their garbage, I can't even hate Houston that much anymore other than Harden's game being ugly as fuck and being terribly irresponsible.

Well, beating women is okay with your small forward replacement apparently. That's not okay and I was glad the Clips got rid of him.

By diehard Go To Postthe Clips are absolutely the douchiest team
If we're going by facial hair, then the Dubs take that crown.
Shun conveniently forgetting that Matt Barnes plays for his team, lol.
Shun conveniently forgetting that Matt Barnes plays for his team, lol.
No, Matt Barnes is a piece of shit. He was a core piece in 2007 and was shit then, 10 years later he's a temporary replacement backup hired by our piece of shit owner as a Machiavellian move to stay top seed and win for the year.
Dray hates him, other players do too.
I wasn't okay with the signing and it's all Lacob. Unlike his other tenures where he was a year long core piece, Barnes is completely temporary and will be gone by playoff time* depending on KD. He's not a core member and will not be one in the foreseeable future.
Bogut was also a dick.
I'm completely firm on the stance that these high profile athletes have a responsibility to be role models with their platform. I'm not the only one who thinks that, db does as well.

Tied for first. Whatever. I just want the Nets to start losing again and the Lakers/Suns/Philly to keep on winning.

Blazers back in 8th spot. They play Denver on Tuesday at home. With a Blazers win, they'll own the tie-breaker outright.

Call this fatal overconfidence, but who's going to do it? A worse Raptor team beat better Miami and Indiana teams last year. ATL? The only team that would concern me is Milwaukee, they've been great with Middleton back.
so should i be happy we are back in the playoffs or sad that i probably have to watch the worst matchup possible?

When we played the Cavs and they just went Lebron + scrubs in the 4th, their defense was actually good.
By reilo Go To PostCavaliers have now a worse DRtg on the season than… Portland.straight trash
Speaking of DRtg and our favorite teams. Pels will move into 5th after tonight. Last season they were 27th.
Of course, they are 27th in ORtg this season when they were 18th last season.
Overall, Pels are 22nd in NRtg this season compared to 25th last season. Improvement! Minor, incremental improvement, but improvement all the same despite a large roster turnover and style change.

I refuse to believe anything about this: http://www.tmz.com/2017/03/27/master-p-nba-coaching-job/
Master P says he's ready for the NBA – as an assistant coach – and he's laser-focused on making it happen with the New Orleans Pelicans.
The rap mogul was a pretty good player back in the day – and had contracts with the Charlotte Hornets and the Toronto Raptors.
Now, P says he wants to pass his knowledge along at the pro level … and he's dead serious.
There's more … P has some strong feelings about LaVar Ball – he LIKES what the basketball dad is doing and says people should be happy that a father is taking such an interest in his kids' lives.
"I think a lot of kids need their fathers in their lives," P said … "All that other stuff, I think he's on the right track."
Ah yes, the Master P era.
Master P sucked. He couldn't even make it through 5 preseason games before he got cut. The guy shot .307, and had 5 fouls & 4 TOs in 23 total preseason minutes.
The fuck is he going to tell anyone?
