Dubs fans with their revisionist history.
By diehard Go To Postthe same people who thought the Pelicans would? That's not true either...

NBA commissioner Adam Silver has called the practice of teams resting marquee players "an extremely significant issue for our league" in a memo sent to team owners Monday and obtained by ESPN.http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18962901/resting-star-players-significant-issue-league
In the memo, Silver informed teams that the issue will be a prime topic of discussion at the next NBA Board of Governors meeting April 6 in New York and warned of "significant penalties" for teams that don't abide by the league's standing rules for providing "notice to the league office, their opponent, and the media immediately upon a determination that a player will not participate in a game due to rest."

By reilo Go To Posthttp://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18962901/resting-star-players-significant-issue-leaguewe need a shorter season. 82 is ridiculous
they been playing 82 forever and a day but now it's an issue w/ this generation.
just go ahead and make it so you're only allowed to rest players at home. that way you dont cheat the road fans out of their 1 or 2 chances to see the stars when they come to town.
if they want to extend it out to what the nba deems as marquee games (thursday TNT, saturday/sunday ABC) then i'd be fine w/ that too.

You gotta take into account how good medical advances are and how correlated fatigue is with getting injured. The league knows this as well which is why they've been cutting back-to-backs, which is at an all time low. They're even going to extend the season and shorten the pre-season starting next year to bring back-to-backs to a near zero occurrence.
By domino Go To Postthey been playing 82 forever and a day but now it's an issue w/ this generation.
Remember how we say that each generation is physically superior as a whole. And they just keep getting faster / stronger.
The downside is that their bodies take more of a pounding.
We're also more aware of it now then ever with the easy access to injury lists and data on it.
It's a fact that at certain peaks in their workload, athlete's are far more exposed to injury. The occurrence of injury on the second night of b2b's is /was far higher. And for an extended period of time, not just a one year thing.
And any other statistical analysis you want to run on it, showed that injury rates went up when fatigue was due to hit a peak.
Playing 3 - 4 games a week for 6 - 9 months a year, at your physical peak, when you're also regularly traveling, is going to catch up with you.
I got no problem with them resting players. do it at home when the fans already get to see you 41 times a year. I pay to see Steph and KD when they come to Charlotte and they don't play then I want a damn refund.
I still think it's soft overall though.
I still think it's soft overall though.
If I remember to do this when I get back from a meeting, I'll link an article that shows when playing on a b2b in a different location than the previous game, injury occurrence spikes to like 3 or 4 times more than normal. B2b when in the same location for both games also results in a spike but not nearly as prominent as one where travel is involved.
I'd be very happy to just beat the Hawks in a series and then lose to the Cavs in a respectable 6 games. Anything but getting the pipe by Boston in a series. And to be honest I really want to see Raps Celtics.

This. I'm kind of fine with preventative rest. The idea that we're owed these guys playing through sore ankles/knees - because that's what this is - just because we like watching them on TV is whatever. The "I blew my family's mortgage on these tickets poor me" excuse is whatever. There is no situation the league can mandate where fans can buy a ticket and the guy they came to see will be immune to injury.
Let's be real, they just need a way to say "hey, don't fuck up our national games by resting Lebron. Wait 'til @DET on Tuesday."

I think that they genuinely need a way to compensate those who are in attendance though. The product with out LBJ, Kyrie, Love isn't the same as with them. You're buying two very different experiences worth very different amounts.
wow.
we were mocking Waiters not too long ago,
but I have to admit, I was low key rooting for him.

Shame Miami lost their franchise player for 8 weeks too. Might cost them a play off spot.
The Los Angeles Lakers have decided to re-sign David Nwaba to a two-year deal with a team option for the 2017-18 season upon the expiration of his second 10-day contract, according to Shams Charania of the Vertical.
Who?
