Naw, Lakers faced the Celtics in 2010 and it was a 7-game series with one of the worst officiated quarters I've ever seen when the Lakers went to the line 16 times in the fourth quarter alone to eek out a win.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostI've never heard of Rakeem Christmas, but that's got to be a top 5 name in the league right now.
Syracuse taint.
Vonleh with two straight double-digit scoring games :D :D
EDIT: WAIT! THREE straight double-digit scoring games for Vonleh :D :D :D

By livefromkyoto Go To PostIt's fun to call him Iblocka, but maybe the pbp guy doesn't need to go to that every single time.Easy to get stuck in a rut.
But .. yeah for a professional...
Lol, these refs are so inconsistent about what is a foul call. Player A is driving to the basket and makes a layup attempt. Player B is defending from in front and reaches around enough to touch player A's back from over his shoulder and then swipes down on the forearms on the shot. No whistle.
Earlier on, player A went up on a putback. Player B was defending by standing still in his jersey but his arms were only at an 85 degree angle instead of a 90 degree angle and got called for a foul.
Both teams have been getting hosed with no-calls and bad calls.

Is there anybody who doesn't think Tony Brothers is a shitty ref? I get that nobody's perfect, but he's had really clear screwups in every game I can recall.
Pelican players have given Steez the nickname of "Instant Grits".
Relatedly, he has been playing extremely well for the Pels and I'm afraid of a big drop-off from him next season.

Hi PSY,
I noticed you were very quiet throughout this entire game. I also noticed something interesting in the boxscore. You're usually one to speak up when Damian has a bad game or when the Blazers lose, so, any comments on this?
How embarrassing.

I'm still confused by the Nurkic trade.
Yeah, the fit was terrible and Nurkic is an asshole, but geez the guy is talented and you manage to get nothing for him?

When you're a semi-lock for the 8th seed and you have an embarrassment of riches at one position, what's a measly first rounder?

The leave Britney alone of sports.
By giririsss Go To PostDidn't Phil return the favor the next year?besides win like 207 games in less than 4 years? I guess so.. And yeah lost to one of greatest coaches ever... but he is 1-1 against one of the greatest coaches ever with the same team and that's not bad eh?
And he's really done not very much with this clippers roster that a brown paper bag couldn't have.
Frankly i'd rather have Snyder, Stevens or Spo.
By diehard Go To Postkabro i dont think slaent supports embedding webpwhat's that?
i see it fine on latest version of chrome.
Am i the only one seeing it? lol

He took over a team that Vinny Del Negro managed to get to 40-26, 56-26, to then win 57, 56, 53 and are on track to finish under .600 for the first time since 2011.
But that context means nothing.
And fail to improve the post season success in 4 years (Lost to Thunder, Houston, and Portland all in the second round), even VDN got them to the second round.
Or address any of their short comings in those 4 years. Or significantly improve the team in those 4 years.
But i guess we should over look all that too?
Doc isn't a bad coach, but he's overrated.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/why-the-skyhook-isnt-a-part-of-todays-game-195220557.html
Where has the skyhook gone? Players shrug, too. Grizzlies center Marc Gasol prides himself on a diverse offensive repertoire. He shoots standing hooks and running hooks. An old-school, Kareem-style skyhook? “Not in a real game,” Gasol said, laughing. “I don’t know where the ball might go.” Anthony Davis has the long, 6-foot-11 frame ideal for the shot. “I’ve never tried it,” Davis said. “Never thought about it, either.”
So why don’t players work on it? Some do. They just get discouraged, quickly. “The balance is the tricky part,” Gasol said. “You have to understand perfectly where you are. Once you commit to that shot, especially from the set position, you have to be very precise.” Added Thunder forward Enes Kanter, “If you don’t stay low and you don’t stay balanced, a defender can push you and you take a crazy shot. It’s hard.”
The hook remains a valued weapon. After practices, Bryant, the Thunder’s big-man coach, regularly works with players on hooks. “I think the hook is the best shot in the world,” Bryant said, “especially when you have your shoulders squared up in the middle of a guy’s chest. There is no way in the world you can block it. So you can get real comfortable with it. I love the hook.”
And the skyhook?
“The kids don’t like doing it,” Bryant said, laughing. “It kind of boils down to that.”

The coach's job is to get 50+ wins each year despite stars breaking down like Yugos. I agree the hasn't quite done what was expect of it since he took over a coach and He certainly hasn't been a good gm.. But I don't know if overrated is the right term for Doc as a coach

But I don't know if overrated is the right term for Doc as a coachThe team has largely stagnated is my point. And if he was a very good coach, he would have found a way to avoid that. Particularly post season.
As a GM he's been well below average. But as a Coach he's been largely Average. The clippers have had their issues, firing of sterling, CP3 injuries, blake injuries. They've treaded water through that. So, average.
Austin Rivers has seemingly developed under him, and DJ is playing in his role. But that's about it. Those are the two "accomplishments" he's added to an existing 55+win team.
Which for a veteran coach in his 4th year isn't exactly a stand out return. (Particularly for his salary demand).
I'm not going to pretend to be a Voges fan, i'm not. But he seemingly maxed out the talent in Indiana. Got lance to play sane for a year, "Developed" PG13 (as much as we can say DJ developed under Doc). And largely had the buy in of his players.
I'm not sure Doc is a positive move forward, as much as he is a name hire.
But Orlando NEEDS positive news.
