After de-emphasizing the triangle earlier in the season, Hornacek and the Knicks have run it more often since the All-Star break. It hasn't translated to on-court success. The Knicks are 4-7 since the All-Star break, and Hornacek has conceded that the Knicks are likely to finish out of the playoffs for the fourth straight season.
New York (27-41) has struggled on defense for much of the season, but some players have also privately pointed to the difficulty of learning the triangle offense as a factor in their disappointing season.
The Knicks will continue to emphasize the triangle for the remainder of the year and, most likely, for as long as Phil Jackson is team president. Last week, Jackson conducted an on-court tutorial to go through different triangle positioning and options with the team's guards.
Some perceived that workout as Jackson intruding on Hornacek's duties as coach, but Hornacek doesn't see it that way.
"No. We talk about stuff all the time," Hornacek said of Jackson. "So when he comes out and demonstrates for the guys, he's so used to being out on the court it's probably fun for him to do. And the guys get another look at it from a guy who has run it for years and years, so it's good."
Jackson and the Knicks' front office could have nearly $25 million to spend in free agency this summer, depending on how the club decides to proceed with pending free agent Derrick Rose. The triangle offense will certainly be a topic of conversation during any negotiation between the Knicks and free agents this offseason.
Despite some of the negative stigma surrounding the offense, Hornacek made it clear Wednesday that he thinks it can be a good selling point for free agents.
"It's a strategy that, almost every time down the court if you're a player, you're watching things develop. When you look at it that way, it's actually fun to run," he said.
😂😂😂😂😂
Man wtf is going on in Knick land?
I told you all that Jaylen Brown wouldn't be ass.
But I do admit that Brad Stevens is making him look better than he has any right to be at this moment in time.

This whole rookie class has been cheeks this season (I mean players that were drafted this past year). Most of them started off incredibly slow but a few players are coming into their own.
Chriss, Murray, Brodgon, Hield, and Brown have all improved significantly.

Charles Barkley and LaVar Ball talked a lot of smack on Wednesday, including Sir Charles issuing a one-on-one challenge to the father of UCLA standout Lonzo Ball, a likely top-three NBA draft pick.
Barkley was asked early Wednesday on ESPN's Mike & Mike if LaVar Ball was starting to become a distraction, and he took it from there.
"Once I found out he averaged two points a game [in college]. … Listen, you need to slow your roll," Barkley said of Ball. "He says I didn't win a championship. I said to myself, 'I need to go back and Google this guy, because maybe I missed the Ball era, when he was dominating and winning championships everywhere else.' Listen, I'm too old and fat to play basketball, but I'll challenge Mr. Ball to a one-on-one. How about that?
"I don't even know how old he is – he's got to be around my age – but no guy who averaged two points a game can beat me at one-on-one. I'm positive of that."
Ball, who played in college at Washington State and Cal State Los Angeles, made headlines earlier this week, telling USA Today that he was looking for a packaged shoe deal involving his three sons that would be worth $1 billion.
Appearing later Wednesday on SportsCenter Coast to Coast, Ball laughed off Barkley's challenge.
"He wants to play one-and-one and all this, and he says I averaged two points, 'Who cares?'" Ball said. "… I know he don't want to play one-on-one because he's too big. He better stay behind that TNT thing … and eat them doughnuts."
Ball said Barkley used to be his favorite player, but that title now belongs to his three sons. LiAngelo Ball will play for UCLA next season, and LaMelo Ball still has two more years of high school remaining.
"He's not my favorite player now. Not because I don't like him. It's because my boys are my favorite players now," Ball said. "He'll be all right, though. … I'll send him some Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and he'll be my friend again."
As funny as it is to trash talk Chuck... Ball needs to shut the fuck up tho..
Anyone who drafts Ball is also going to draft his dad. Sounds like a fucking trainwreck.
Pls Magic... don't do this.
If we keep our pick.

Would only be for a year I think.. Thought he had a team option for his 4th..

By Kibner Go To PostHe didn't do it with Monty when they had greater cause and a cheaper contract. This reminds me of when the Wolves wanted to fire Kurt Rambis, but Glen Taylor didn't want to pay for it, so David Kahn sold a couple draft picks to get the money to cover his salary. Glen Taylor is worth $1.8 billion.

No because they are still playing Deangelo.
By Kuma Go To PostWolves don't howl in Boston!Thats so awful it sounds like something Tommy Heinsohn might say
The bad thing about finally having a good team to root for is you don't get all that much enjoyment when they beat mediocre teams.
By Kuma Go To PostWolves don't howl in Boston! It's tough to win when only Rubio and Towns play well. Wiggins is completely off his game right now and probably shouldn't be playing. He just looks exhausted. With that Bjelica injury, they got nothing from the bench except some Bazz empty stats.

can't think of a greater cause than having AD and DMC and wanting to make DMC stay long term...
