Using ESPN as a reference, Howard is actually getting fewer attempts this year with the Hawks (8.0), than he did last season with the Rockets (8.5). When you consider that James Harden isn’t his teammate any longer, that pair of statistics is staggering. I was expecting Howard’s attempts and points per game to increase upon joining the Hawks, but I’ve been wrong.
By Red Blaster Go To Postmagic are definitely tanking, jeff green has played center on a few occasions lately. sometimes they get "lucky" and payton decides to not suck and win entire games by himself thoughI think playing Jeff Green at all qualifies as tanking.

He apparently begged Kahn not to trade for him and called himself a cancer to Kahn.

This shouldn't be shocking though. He's not playing with Harden, but he's sharing frontcourt touches with a better PF than he's ever played with. And he's doing it in a year where everybody who's not New Orleans is running their offence through their guards, and most bigs who get serious touches have range.

I met with David Kahn and told him: "Don't trade for me for the love of God, I don't want to play in the NBA anymore, I'll ruin your team. I'll fuck up the team chemistry, do not trade for me. When it's not working it's not working." He told me to join them for 2 weeks, and if I'm not feeling it I'm free to leave. My first year there actually went great. And then you took the $15M when he offered it to you. Whatever, dude.

That article's amazing.

The thing about Vince was that he was an elite 3PT shooter from the getgo, too. I'd argue he was born a generation too early cause he'd be up there with the best of today with his talent and skill... if he had the drive.
At least Darko owns up that he was his own biggest problem.
I'd do a lot of things differently now. It's true that I ended up on a team that was trying to win a ring, which rarely happens to a #2 pick, but in the end, we're all looking for alibis. I could say i didn't get a proper chance. However, that's simply an alibi; it's up to a young player to prove himself, work hard and wait for his chance. My approach was completely different, as a #2 pick coming from Europe I thought I was sent by God. So I got into fights, got drunk before practices, spiting everyone, while in the end, I was spiting myself.David Kahn also thought you were manna from heaven, so I get it.

“I want Trail Blazers fans and friends to know I’m doing well and in the process of getting better. My family and I appreciate the prayers and well-wishes for my recovery. I had an unfortunate incident with a minor brain hemorrhage which means I’ll be in rehabilitation for a while. But I’m excited about trying to get past this speed bump. I’m improving every day.”Uncle Cliffy 😰

By domino Go To Postkahn was dumb enough to offer it.It's like he was a bad GM and made only two good moves ever, trading ***** **** and Mike Miller for the #5 pick and drafting Ricky Rubio.
I was just looking at his BBRef page and he turned Al Jefferson, our then best player, into Kosta Koufos, a 2011 first and a 2012 first. He traded Koufos after 39 games to get Anthony Randolph. The 2011 pick got packaged to get rid of Jonny Flynn (Houston selected Motiejunas). The 2012 pick became Chase Budinger (Houston selected Terrence Jones).
Morey was feasting on that dude for years. Jeez.

By reilo Go To PostAre the Knicks gonna match their win total (32) from last season? Are they trying to?
They have go to 6-9.
The Knicks were never tanking. Not with all those veterans. Phil really thought it wouldn't be a bad team.
Exactly, Rodeo. And with this whole new insistence to make sure they're running the triangle it seems like a "well they'd be winning if they ran the damn triangle!" mantra. Classic Phil.
Look at the GP/GS and MPG spread of their players:
You don't keep playing those dudes heavy minutes and starting them if you're tanking. You'd shut Carmelo down like you did after the ASG last season. Noah would still be starting if he didn't have knee surgery.

Where they not tanking when Puddles had all that hope?
You can tank at the end of a season to better your chances, but some fans act like their team got to a shit record 3/4ths of the way into the season because they were tanking. The Lakers FO sure as hell didn't make the moves they made this last offseason to get the record they now have.
By diehard Go To PostWhat was the Lakers record when they made that move?Depends on the draft and a team that is put together poorly can decide to tank much sooner than a team like the elite Lakers

By reilo Go To PostDisagree. Look at the minutes breakdown vs Brooklyn:
As much as anything. Who the fuk else they gonna play.
Seems like they're basically using it as practice for Triangle heavy offense. Or a new offense.
“The crossover,” Hardaway said. “Everybody says Allen Iverson. I’m going to tell you this and I tell everybody this: Allen Iverson carried the basketball. I had the original killer crossover and people are doing my move. They’re not doing Allen Iverson’s move. They’re not doing nobody else’s move. They’re still trying to perfect my move as the killer crossover and it’s my move, all right? That’s the way it is. I brought a unique style to the game.”
Timmy travelled his ass off with the UTEP 2 Step... Dude needs to shut it..
Besides AI had that double crossover that was so nasty..
Also...
There’s a perception Fred Hoiberg watches helplessly as Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo run roughshod over the coach, the Bulls organization and even sometimes each other. Is this more evidence of that or just confirmation bias?Ken Berger of Bleacher Report:Yet the belief persists in front office circles that Butler is no fan of Hoiberg. In fact, a scout with a rival team told Bleacher Report he’s witnessed persistent episodes when Butler, Rondo and Wade have ignored plays Hoiberg has called.“When Fred would call plays on the sideline, Rondo would just flat-out blow him off,” said the scout, who spoke with Bleacher Report on the condition of anonymity. “Wade does it, too. Butler does it, too. … That becomes infectious.”
Just fire the dude..

I agree.. The Knicks aren't trying to win now. They maybe were looking at the playoffs in the offseason with the moves they made and the contracts they gave but that didn't work and now they are hoping to get young talent again...
They also can't NOT play players in New York... the fans and media would have a fit..

Going for Noah and Rose was definitely a "we're in the mix in the conference now" type of move. Jackson thought the Knicks would be like those Chicago teams they played on, it was just a really bad read on them health and fit-wise.
From a distance, if you asked me I'd definitely think they're tanking - they're not great but they're not "lose to everybody including Brooklyn" bad. But based on Porzingis' comments the other day about how they keep changing things around and nobody knows the plays, maybe they really are just that discombobulated right now.
Jeff Hornacek acknowledged that the Knicks have given up their playoff push. "The playoffs may not be in reach but this could especially for some of our other guys who might get some time show what they really can do and build something for next year," he said before Tuesday's game against Indy. NYK is 7.5 games out of 8th place, so it makes sense for NYK to play some of its younger players.oh
