By IWMTB19 Go To PostSean Kilpatrick is a guard.
He had 23 points on 3-5 shooting and only one three.
What guard gets 17 free throw attempts on 5 shots? lol
You know the answer to that one.

Bad Porn was the GOAT.
Every play he would try to get to the line or commit a turnover.
By reilo Go To Postthe best part ws he blocked harden's layup right after
Kibner you might have found your wing player
Keep hitting 10 three's a game and don't play against Gobert and you are golden.

By IWMTB19 Go To PostCousins doesn't run back on defense and Gobert gets an easy putback layup.I'm sure you know this, but neither team did. Both traveled to Utah the night before or morning of this game.
These teams just had two of the dumbest turnovers I've seen in a close game in a while. They look like they haven't slept in two days.

Putting faith in Jordan Crawford seems like it could never go wrong.

O i wasn't being facetious. was referring to James Harden.
I guess old Wince and RJ did a ton of that too.
EDIT: and how could I forget my mans Gerald Wallace. Too bad he wasn't a guard.

I remember when the Warriors gave him $50million

Right after the game, Favors was sniping at national reporters, lol.
(Who noted that Favors lead the league in most dunk attempts blocked)
I wish Favors wasn't playing on one leg too :( :( :( :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((

Will he ever have two legs again though? Like we needed to shut him down for a month or two but we cant do that.

It's perfectly common to have catastrophic knee injuries during the summer for no reason that are then badly mishandled and covered up by the organization, I don't know what you're talking about.
By Kuma Go To PostThis the year Gentry get fired yes?Probably not. It's only his second season and he has yet to have a consistent roster to play with.
By Kibner Go To PostProbably not. It's only his second season and he has yet to have a consistent roster to play with.I can very well see it happening. I know Jonm feels he should be gone.
Though I find it hard to lay much of the blame at his feet, someone will probably "be held accountable" for the lack of success, and coaches go before GM's.
I personally don't like him, either. I would have rather they just kept Monty, but it's still bad form to fire a coach after two seasons. Might make it harder to hire a quality one to replace the previous if there are multiple openings that off-season.

I find it hard to blame anybody in New Orleans except those scrubs bricking wide open shots. If they even have replacement level shooters they've got a couple more Ws with Cousins.
How many Knick coaches in this millennium have lasted two full seasons?

Gentry seemed like a bandage hire anyways to me
I'm a Gentry truther. It's clear to me that management hired evil houngans instead of a proper medical staff, and then pissed them off and they cursed the entire team so they are all injured forever. Tell me what a coach is supposed to do in that situation unless he is Shadow Man.
By giririsss Go To PostI can very well see it happening. I know Jonm feels he should be gone.I honestly can't figure out how I feel about Gentry.

I largely agree with Kibner though. He has had a raw deal. Even if I felt from the onset he wasn't the right choice. Then again I also see things that I just can't excuse, like some of the local reports about how disorganized the structure of this team is. Which you can kinda see in plenty of games with how unprepared we look. Basically lots of non X's and O's stuff(then again down by 4 with few minutes left and having Davis and Cousins camping at the three point line all shot clock was baffling).
...Then you see things like that article kibner posted and I think, this guy clearly has a great offensive mind to some degree. And honestly in my head, replace Solo and Thompson with ~40% catch and shoot players and things likely look a lot different offensively. The lack of reliable outlet shooters allows defenses to cheat and defend 5 on 3 basically.
Long way of saying I don't have a clue and I'm glad I don't have to make that decision in Cousins contract year.
By blackace Go To PostWhat truth about Gentry is there?
The truth that he's not Shadow Man, the only one who can tame the dark forces of the Louisiana Bayou.
By IWMTB19 Go To PostI don't know if you should be envious of a team that doesn't try against bad teams until the 4th quarter…I'm not jealous of your first three quarters. Composure in the 4th is just something we lack.
By the end of my lunch break, the team was still up by 13 or so. Check later in the day, and we lose to the Spurs in the final minute (again). I can only think of one game where we've scraped our way back from a double-digit deficit, but can recall half a dozen games where the opposition has done it against us. I wouldn't be surprised if our first round exit consisted of a bunch of losses that were like this:
I just don't know what you can do as coach when your team gets 50 uncontested shots but makes only 15 of them on a consistent basis. Open corner 3s and layups just being missed. Even the ones being taken in rhythm. The only alternative is to force even more of your shots into the guys taking shots against double and triple teams and that doesn't seem like a good idea.
If you're getting 50 uncontested shots no matter how bad the shooters are, that has to a testament to the prowess of the coach's offensive schemes, right?
Gentry hasn't excelled but he hasn't had a chance too, the Pelicans roster has either been shit, injured or at best, both.
He's shown before that he can lead even a garbage roster thats a little bit healthy to moderate success from his work woth the Suns.

Did some actual look up of stats since the All-Star break/Cousins trade.
%FGA Open (defender 4-6 feet away): 28.2% (13th best, just behind the Spurs); 23.6 open fga p/gm
FG% on Open shots: 32.7% (worst, by far)
eFG% on Open shots: 38.5% (worst, by far)
%FGA Wide Open (defender 6+ feet away): 20.5% (tied for 8th with the Spurs); 17.1 wide open fga p/gm
FG% on Wide Open shots: 35.0% (worst)
eFG% on Wide Open shots: 46.3% (tied for worst with Clippers)
So, yeah. They are getting a healthy amount of open looks, but aren't knocking them down. Pulled stats from stats.nba.com.
e: I was wrong, it was 41 shots p/gm that are basically uncontested and they are making 14 of them. That's roughly 34%.

By diehard Go To PostI saw very little last night to suggest the Davis-Cousins duo isn't a "it's your turn now" offense. They are using Cousins to space the floor for Davis pick and rolls (I think he's been the best perimeter shooter since the trade), running the offense through him at the high and low posts, and setting screens for Davis and others to get the ball in space at the free throw line and base lines.
Davis gets tons of pick and rolls all the time and screens from guards and wings to again get space at the free throw and base lines. He will also get some low post iso's when Cousins is out.
I was wrong again. Cousins is merely the third best 3pt shooter for the Pels since the break at a blistering 28.6%. Moore is at 60.0% and Cunningham at 36.4%.
By Boston HeraldSatch Sullinger was asked last week what his son Jared is doing, right now, and his voice curled into a shrug.
“I have no idea, man,” he said. “He’s working out in Toronto. That’s all I know.”
Told that the Celtics haven’t ruled his son out, Satch Sullinger said, “Not sure that would change anything for him. He has to make up his mind about what’s important But if you’re going to stand in the way of progress, then get out of the way. . . . All I know for sure is that the signs aren’t good. Even if Phoenix kept him, that wouldn’t have made it any better for him. He still has to face himself.
“As a dad, man, it hurts. But water seeks its own level. It’s up to him.”
“People are looking for players with his ability who can help,” Satch Sullinger said. “But you have to make a commitment to yourself before you can help someone else. You’re under pressure — under the gun.
“He’s a Sullinger — he can handle being under the gun. Most people who get cut and can’t get back in the league don’t have the talent, but that’s not Jared. He’s got the talent. Last year when he was at 300 pounds, he still managed to get 25 double-doubles."
