Hmmm, I don't know about a Destiny movie like the ME one, but I think the majority of the juicy bits are in the 'grimoire.' If you care about getting read up on Destiny lore that'd be the place to do it. The storyline as it's told in the game is unremarkable at best. The dialog is so bad it's almost crossed the cringe threshold into acceptable kitsch territory. And there's barely any of it, so a movie would be pretty damn short.
That said there's actually is some creative ideas going on in the grimoire and if you see yourself being invested in the game it'd be worth delving into. It's just, it's a virtual encyclopedia, not a game, so that sucks.

I think D2 will have longer staying power, the original really takes a dump after you've tried everything and finished the story. More dev time hopefully means a more fulfilling game
I am definitely interested in D2. Only played the beta of the first one and it was frankly utter shit. Controlled like shit, looked like shit and just seemed intensely bland. But I also noticed they put a lot of work into improving it so my I hope is that D2 is kinda like them getting another try at it and hopefully they nail it.

Destiny 1 definitely wasn't a looker. It was clearly caught between gens. But I do really like the art style of robotic sci fi soldiers in tattered cloaks. The latest expansion was a significant step up graphically.
I wouldn't say it controls like shit though. The only FPS I've played since Destiny that felt as good to me was Titanfall 2.
I'm going PS4 again. I haven't upgraded my GPU since pre-PS4. The Pro is well past my PC's graphics.

Helping my brother in law out with his job for the next 5 months that will not give me time to rest at home much. Which is why I'm set on getting a Switch as my main game system this year.

That said it's a great show overall and probably the best thing Marvel have done so far (I realise that bar is low).
The first Destiny was a cross-gen game in 2014, and even then the art design was pretty great. But we live in a post-Horizon world now.
The Taken King was a massive upgrade on the base game.
