Even as someone who loves to shit on BioWare games I still will give it the benefit of the doubt until release. Games rarely come across well when what you see is out of context video clips... unless it's some really fresh gameplay systems, which to be fair, people don't really want or expect from Mass Effect, then it just doesn't look or feel right, even if the end game is good.
That said, they've clearly been left behind in terms of animations, and the character design is really drab and some of them are pure derp, like female Ryder.
I'm sure it plays well, and if the story grabs me I'll probably really like it, but the dialogue seems rough.
Right now I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it, but I probably will.

Man Horizon will take me quite some time to complete 100%. I'm with 12 hours played, 15% completed, a bunch of side missions available now.
I'm playing on very hard and, so far, is not that hard at all. I think i died like less than 5 times. Think it's the ideal difficulty level at least for me, not too easy and not so frustrating like The Witcher's deathmarch was on the first hours.
Graphics are insane. I have one criticism to make tho: the transitions from night to day and vice versa occurs too abruptly. Should take a little bit of time in between. The Witcher 3 does this perfectly.

It's a little thing that they couldve done better.
the Blade Runner game was one of my favourite games during my childhood, it influenced my tastes till now and ignited my interest in the cyberpunk genre before I saw the movie or played Deus Ex. I had the discs and they got lost somewhere when I moved houses countless times

also you have to appreciate the blade runner movie for the visuals, soundtrack and how it inspired countless other works after it, the hype (for me at least) was never about the barebones plot

By Pele.gif Go To PostYeah :/Yeah, I think they have the day simulated around 10x faster than how it should occur in real life. In that way it makes sense for the transitions to be rapid since those usually last about 30 minutes - 1 hour in realtime.
It's a little thing that they couldve done better.
Should have customised it like the Witcher devs did. Let the dusk and dawn last at least three times longer than it should be.
Edit: Pele it gets much, much, much harder later. Wait until you get into some absolutely spectacular battles.

Bombcasts, quick looks, UPF, whatever. They're asking Jeff and Brad to set the pace and tone, and both of them seem to be in a prolonged malaise. Doesn't help that when they try to spice things up a bit, they call upon people like Rorie and Steve Lin. Ain't nobody gives a fuck about game preservation.
With Dan going to New York they've basically doubled down on enthusiasm out there with Vinny as well, and left themselves woefully short on the other coast. It reminds me of when Idle Thumbs was going through the motions as they were developing Firewatch.
Might be a situation I'd willingly take if offered it though, been enjoying Dan+Vinny's stuff a lot, and I've always enjoyed the Beastcast even when Alex was doing my head in. He's toned down the imminent doom jokes recently, thankfully.
I like Rorie. He is a bit weird and awkward on camera, but he usually got some cool games with him the rest wouldn't play.
