By Scum Go To PostIt is, m8.Yes lads!
Have a nine and a half hour flight home. Hopefully the lack of any connectivity and my battery pack will help it limp over the line
Must admit, I was interested in the Space Jockey in Alien, but after learning that Scott's gonna make two more films (including Covenant) to lead up to Alien....lol, no thx
Some things are interesting precisely because we know nothing about them. Implication. Imagination. etc.
The process of explaining a mythology is rarely compelling.

Conte having to face questions at the presser today regarding Inter is gross.
Salesman was good. Slow burn but I really enjoyed it for what it was.

By Zabojnik Go To PostArrival was pretty good yeah.
Arrival was pretty great. If Blade Runner 2077 and eventually Dune are on the same level, I'll be happy.
Pessimistic about Blade Runner but time will tell I guess.
Didn't know they were making Dune also.
Some ITKs are suggesting that Juve have been in contact with Strootgod for over 6 months, Pjanic-style.
I'm not sure I'd want him, even though he's pretty much back to his levels this season. It's probably bullshit tho, tied to recent reports about Roma being in financial straits because of no CL football. One between him and Manolas is definitely gone this summer.

We'll see if this kid ever gets a chance at City or not, but he is very impressive. 16 years old and regularly making U23 players look silly. Scored again today vs Everton in the 1 vs 2 matchup this afternoon. Glad City have tied him up.
I still have hopes for Luke Shaw. It sounds like City are going to try and sign Rose this summer and then Spurs will go for Shaw. If it were up to me, I'd cut out the middle man and go for Shaw. I know it won't happen since those transfers are so rare, but I think he'll bounce back big time at his next club.

Based on Villenueve's track record, I'm confident that Blade Runner 2049 will be a better film than the original.

By jtb Go To PostBased on Villenueve's track record, I'm confident that Blade Runner 2049 will be a better film than the original.Wouldn't be hard, the original is zzzzzzzz.
By GQman2121 Go To PostTolisso is certainly on though right Zabo? That's the word on the street, but I've been burned too many times before to get the ol' hype engine going. I don't even know the player that well, so yeah. Also, every time there's a sub-23 player quoted @ 30-35M€ liked with Juve my anus goes into clench mode. Verratti, Draxler, Berardi ...
We'll see. He's definitely our no. 1 midfield target and seems within reach. Much like Sanchez.
Here we go again. Blade Runner is the GOAT, giiyh.

Blade Runner is fine. Blunt, heavy handed, and pretty shallow. It's mediocre sci-fi and mediocre noir. Mashing those two things together doesn't really compensate for that.
It's a beautiful film, though, and Villenueve has an excellent visual eye. So 2049's gonna be fine.

By Freewheelin Go To PostKimo doesn't appreciate good sci-fi, he thought Arrival was shit tooNot shit but the twist just did nothing for me.
It is true I'm not big on sci-fi though.
Blade Runner is nice to look at but shallow as shit.
Agree with jtb. Love the themes but they're not always especially well communicated but it is a lovely looking movie.
I'm with gq.
I actually feel asleep the first time I tried to watch Blade Runner. Harrison Ford, sci-fi noir, looks gorgeous and yet I couldn't give a flying fuck about it.
Villeneuve will make it good tho. I believe.

By GQman2121 Go To PostSomething about neon lighting at night in the rain.My new BR shirt agrees.
Gosling alone is going to make the remake good.
Btw, it's not a remake.
He's good but in serious danger of becoming franchise reboot man.
He's done well out of moving between genres and new ips.

It's not a remake, but I wonder how similar the themes explored will be. Like, are they going for something significantly different, but still in the realm of what makes Blade Runner what it is, or is it going to be a remake in everything but the story per se. This being Villeneuve, I'm pretty positive we're getting the former, but Hollywood gonna Hollywood, so you never know.
In any case, I'm glad I know next to nothing about it. Fuck spoilers of any and all kinds.

We both know it's getting JJ'd.
By Scum Go To PostSo. Who's looking forward to Mass Effect: Inquisition? Will wait for reviews and opinions.
If it's shit, I'll just hope one of the January titles like RE, Gravity Rush 2 or maybe even NioH is cheap.
For now I got Horizon and there are still plenty of last years titles I'll have to tackle...
By hixx Go To Postfeel asleep.
By Laboured Go To PostWe both know it's getting JJ'd.I want to believe. So hard.
Agree about Villeneuve locking himself into one genre / reboots. At the same time though ... he'd be so perfect for Dune.
By Laboured Go To PostHe's good but in serious danger of becoming franchise reboot man.

Don't think he is.
He agreed to do one and then was offered his dream ip.
Wouldn't read too much into it.
Also, agree with jtb on Blade Runner.
By Scum Go To PostSo. Who's looking forward to Mass Effect: Inquisition? It's dead, Jimmy.
I think we're only missing n8 on the BR meh-train.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostShe is so fucking badass.Another movie I wish I hadn't seen the spoilerific trailer for. But I was expecting it to be as shit as the previous ones, and so I didn't care and I watched.

Villenueve has made more good films already than Ridley scott has in his entire career.

Not worried at all about Villenueve. His films have all had distinct identities, despite having a lot of common threads running through them.
Arrival was his most ambitious film yet, in the sense that it's the most he's strayed from his comfort zone and tiptoed into an almost Spielberg-ian sentimentality, emotional core, sense of wonder, etc. Thought he succeeded for the most part. It was like a really good episode of LOST.

@Zabo: you ever play that Lucasarts Blade Runner adventure game? apparently it's fucking incredible.
