Man I don't want to rant to much but words can't express how happy I am for him. Like he IS the golden child, are they're better emcees… MUCH better imo but I really don't think anyone has ever put out such a complete body of work as this. I really feel like grime is/was going through the same cycle that hip hop went through when it was first invented. We are now after 15 years or so finally getting real commercial success and maybe even acceptance as mainstream genre. It just feels fantastic to be part of such a movement man, so proud of all of them as it feels like yesterday I was listening to dizzie rascal on ice rink.

He's definitely made the album..."accessible" which is both sensible and understandable. And at the same time it still feels completely genuine.

Saw Arrival for the second time the other day. I think I liked it even more than the first time around. Great film.
It's definitely the type of film that rewards for a second watch. I just saw La La Land which finally landed here. Sensational film

By Diego! Go To PostIGN have given the Wii Switch a 6.7/10They haven't.
But it's a "look at me" review, compared to to most other reviews. It works though, suddenly IGN is very relevant again.
La La Land certainly was a film that I watched. And past that I can't muster any stronger feelings towards it.
Edit: Seems Nintendo is jts's achilles heel. I will remember this in future.

Sounds like the Switch is like a year away from prime time in terms of functionality and a year behind in terms of technical power.
lol Spurs. The one time they're able to field a good team and they are going to blow it up. Joke club
Zelda review thread tomorrow? What a time to laugh at console warriors.

I'm ambivalent Scummo, I did want it to be good (I miss owning a Nintendo console) but I'm seeing quite a bit of not-good in amongst bits of good. Some of this stuff will get fixed and improve, as will the game library eventually. But there's no fixing the limited hardware specs.
Now if they did a Switch Pro in a few years we might be able to talk.
By Vivalapizza Go To PostHmm, not sure about that. It’s been a while since I’ve looked at these finances closely but this is the first year where the revenue has stayed flat. It will bump up again next year because of the new TV money and additional match day revenue. And in general, the football market continues to grow richer. Global demand keeps increasing and I don’t think we are that far off all 380 PL games being televised.
Your commercial revenue is still higher than Arsenal and Chelsea (may have changed now with new deals etc, but in the same ballpark) so you are doing okay there…but there is a question about whether you should be doing better. Okay the club doesn’t win and hasn’t for a long time…but it still has a big big reach.
Would have to look at the report for exceptions but one thing I would be worried about is that you sold Sterling for £50m in this period…but still reported a loss. I think you did have a positive net spend that summer but it was relatively small (~£30m). That suggests the club are more or less up to the wall in terms of spending power and unless they are willing to carry risk you can’t go out and spend £100m net.
From the perspective of FSG…the cautious approach is understandable. Why carry that risk when it guarantees nothing. The club as is will keep ticking over…revenue will keep growing in line with the market…and the manager might just develop a good enough team to get into the CL for a year or two at which point you might look to push the boat out.
This really is a classic case of between a rock and a hard place and the problem Liverpool have is that all of their rivals are in a better position than them (Spurs excepted…who have a better team on the pitch and have a new stadium in central London around the corner..)
Revenue was basically flat from 2009 to 2013 with the vast majority of growth coming in the past 2 years. Partly this was down to the lack of Europe driving down broadcast income even whilst commercial revenues grew, but its not been a constant upward curve the past few years. Commercial revenue has doubled from 2009 but its not been a constant rate of growth either, some years saw huge increases whilst other saw increases of only 3-6 million. The majority of the growth has obviously come from a handful of mega deals, like those with new balance or garuda. The club should be due to renegotiate the shirts deal soon - the 25mil they got back when it was signed was a really good figure but they could expect to more than double that when it comes up again. Just depends when certain deals come up for negotiation. A lot of low hanging fruit has already been picked but there are still a few possibilities, like naming rights for Anfield, that could also be worth a lot.
Otherwise it's worth noting that the previous years figures contained the CL payments after the second place finish. Broadcast revenue still went up due to the PL bump but it was basically 35 mil gone, if Liverpool were able to add that back in then they would be on about the same revenue as Chelsea and within 20mil of Arsenal.
I don't think FSG will be worried about the profit figures. Though its nice to make income, their aim is always going to be to make profit from the value of the club and not from dividends. Football accounting is so filled with bullshit anyway that the profit figures are basically pointless. Money for transfers is ultimately going to depend on the club's ability to get cash flow in, which I doubt would be an issue, either FSG can loan the club more money themselves or debt can be taken from elsewhere; current debt figures are low enough that getting money in this way would not pose any problems. This is assuming FFP continues to be a joke, of course.

But seriously, I just like the fact that the Switch has finally got Nintendo away from their old ass hardware and in bed with the likes of Nvidia. And thanks Microsoft and Sony's love for hardware iterations, we will probably get a Switch Lite and/or Switch Pro too. What I would like though, is a mid/high end range docking station with computing insides that gives the Switch a kick up the ass when docked. 👍🏾

What people seem to want is for Nintendo to make a PC in a box with its own ecosystem like Sony and Microsoft, but we all know that's not a battle they can win.
I totally agree that the Switch isn't exciting hardware. I just think the metric isn't really fair if you're looking for relevant specs, since they're trying to supply products to their own niche, not catch up with the other runners in the race.
Nintendo could release games on my toaster and if they are good, who gives a flying fuck about the specs? Just another lame talking point that's been regurgitated since 2006.

I get the niche thing but you also have to accept they are making games and there is a certain expectation in this field that your tech is at least current/vaguely competitive on release.
Like, I just think it's really crap to come to market much later (3 years?) than everyone else, release considerably weaker tech at similar price to your competitors, with one main unique selling point and say "well hey we're trying to carve out a niche for ourselves here".
Doesn't wash for me.

Ya, I mean why make the Switch any more powerful than the Wii? Or the WiiU? I mean who cares right?

Can a horse not just wish for a better world for those worse off in a highly vocal and abrasive manner?
UEFA has banned away fans from both legs of the Olympiacos - BJK after a unilateral request by Olympiacos. UEFA stays racist and prejudiced. Didn't even ask the Turkish side for input, just went and did it.
