Resources for learning Python.

I'm a math student with almost no programming experience (other than knowing a few lines of codes in Stata and having taken Discrete Math), but I'm interested in just being able to do some basic things with computer programming. People have suggested that I start trying to learn Python, are there good resources online or good textbooks on getting started on this?

I don't know. I just normally learn by looking up what i have to do. But that only works because I'm relatively experienced i guess.
