I can't say I really had expectations for this, but wow, the turtles look so awful.

I believe that was scrapped, but yeah this still looks like Transformers with Turtles instead of Robots.

with michael bay directing, i knew this was going to be shit

The guy that directed classics such as Wrath of the Titans and Battle Los Angeles is directing.

Okay, seriously - unless you're talking about the bloody Frank Miller "tribute" original Eastman & Laird series, when has ninja turtles ever not been exactly this? It was a silly kids' cartoon that was made into sillier movies with Vanilla Ice in them. The only thing I see different is the addition of nostrils and the somewhat baffling transformation of Shredder into a white man.

He's a great character actor, I just don't think he's a strong enough actor to be a main actor.

Also I'm surprised this guy isn't in the movie: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0607703/?ref_=nv_sr_1 as apparently Michael Bay likes him so much that he resurrected his character from Transformers 1 so he could be in Transformers 2.

I somehow avoided both of those. I get why they've promoted this as a Bay movie, though. Not that his name means anything to me, but it is all I've heard about this.

Yup, I worked with the dudes son and he told me that Bay asked his dad to be back in TF2 and the guy said he'd love to but he had died in the first one. I guess Bay retconned it somehow so he was still alive. He ended up in all 3 movies. Its not really a major plot point or anything.
