By Smokey Go To Postlooks fine to me in person especially the first planetSome advert before a twitch video I'm watching, it looks like a desktop shaped like a giant cube
i mean the pics are shit as i was messing around with ansel but *shrug* it looks fine to me outside of the goofy faces
?

By Smokey Go To Postoh yeah. it's just a gaming desktop in a cube caseThunderjaws were in the first trailer and on the box art mmk

By NinjaFridge Go To PostIs it worth playing the first 2 witcher games or should I just go straight to the third?I thoroughly enjoyed 3 even though I only played a little of the first one (too much jank) you'll out on the significance of some side characters but it's still great.
By Kibner Go To PostI have endings A and K for Nier:Automata now. Not sure how I feel about the game, but I'm intrigued enough to play more.
havent seen anything yet
my pics suck but yall think this looks bad? from the first planet
if you sold this as a sony exclusive at e3 gaf and slaent would explode
the second planet is drab in comparison but still looks fine

That looks great. But I still can't get around that bug eyed woman with short hair. That looks way dated. People are always going to remember the worst.
but AAA sony exclusives look way better than that?
do you have your sharpness turned up or something? screen looks off.

That first planet in that post looks alot better but the desert screen caps look trash. You're really so concentrated on fidelity and texture quality it feels like that you're completely disregarding good art direction, which ME clearly lacks.
I wouldn't say ME has bad art direction per say, it's not a great looking game but I think Smokey is just really bad at taking screenshots.
Its clear Bioware spent most of their resources on the environments and very little on the character models and animation. Which is pretty stupid considering the type of game it is

Sony has put out 2 games that look better in 2016 to 2017 tho
I swear Overwatch is at least 30% responsible for the blood pressure issues I've been having. I don't know what it is about that game. I never had the issue before after thousands of hours of TF2

Just finished UC4.
Holy shit. Definitely the best in the series. If anything it went on a bit too long, but I can forgive it because it was so damn good throughout.
The fact that I binged the last third of the game in a few straight hours probably has something to do with it too.
Great ending too.

First screen looks fine, but that foliage on the second one... So fucking ugly. Something just looks very off and annoying about the whole sand texture in it as well, feels like everything is very inconsistent when it comes to quality in the screenshots.
Was able to get the game locked at above 30 fps for something a little below 4k native using resolution scaling. Mostly high settings. Definitely superior to the pro version.
But..I think I'm burnt out on open world rpgs right now. Going to put this on the back log for a bit.

By GQman2121 Go To PostIf MS haven't tapped up Take Two and Rockstar by now to have Red Dead be the prime lead for Scorpio this fall then they're fucking lost in the sauce. That is going to be the big game (probably Destiny too) both on and offline. GTA online laid the groundwork last gen and RDR2 is going to be the next current step forward.Sony has a marketing and exclusive DLC deal with Rockstar for Red Dead.
By masud Go To PostI thoroughly enjoyed 3 even though I only played a little of the first one (too much jank) you'll out on the significance of some side characters but it's still great.
I would play the second one though, what a great game that still is.
First one is a bit jankier but story is still great.
Fine is the kindest adjective to mass effective screens, like forget that we've been seriously spoiled by Horizon recently I just dont think the game is anything to write about graphically, i think you have to playing it because you enjoy the game as opposed to thinking its super pretty. Dont get what res you can get it running at, average textures and shaders cant make up for that imo.
By rvy Go To PostYo damn, this like sweet.
Blows my mind a single dude is making this game.
By Lupercal Go To PostYo damn, this like sweet.Looks a lot better than a lot of these triple a multi-million dollar 100+ team games.
By Smokey Go To PostYeah and we (SLAENT) about to eat. It's clear there's money being left on the table!
wheeeeew.
Why are all the things I'm interested in doing in life low paying jobs, lol.
By EldritchTrapStar Go To PostI don't particularly want this to be interpreted as me taking a shot at anyone else. Whatever conclusion someone reaches is up to them (low or high score). I'm not a fan of having to using numbers to rate anything, but if I had to adhere to the "standards" that everyone else follows, then the answer would be a resounding hell no. Even with my criticisms, I'd still feel comfortable ranking it as high as almost everyone else.
Damn near all of the games that I'd give a 9.5 or 10 to have some shit that bothers the fuck out of me. Dark Souls 1 has an entire garbage area. HL has Xen. RE4 has the Island. The list goes on.
I agree with all that. And I thought I was the only person who hated Xen. I think Black Mesa is fine without it.
By rvy Go To Posta single dude is making this game.
A single dude with the money to outsource maybe. Even if I accept that a guy has all the requisite skillsets to pull that off solo, there aren't enough hours in a day.
That said, lol @ random guy pulling that off while Scalebound gets cancelled in multi-million dollar development hell.

But did he get on base? Or did his bat break?
By RobNBanks Go To PostGot $9 in my PSN wallet for some reason, debating on picking up God of War 3. Opinions? You haven't played it at all before or you're asking about the remaster?
It's a great game.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostA single dude with the money to outsource maybe. Even if I accept that a guy has all the requisite skillsets to pull that off solo, there aren't enough hours in a day.The majority of the content in that trailer are built in assets from Unreal Engine 4 though. All the environments, particles etc. The animation work is very impressive as are the models. He's been working on it for years.

Dust: An Elysian Tail was made by one dude too and that's just as if not more impressive.
IIRC after he got noticed, I think Sony is picking the game up.
By KingGondo Go To PostYou haven't played it at all before or you're asking about the remaster?Haven't played it at all. Bought it when I got my PS4 but never opened it so I ended up returning it. For $6 it seems like I should take the gamble, didn't really care for the first God of War though

It's hard not to be impressed by the production values and epic scale at the very least. It arguably had the best graphics and presentation on the PS3.
Even using CEMU, the pre-existing fan-made Wii U to PC emulator, those involved estimated Zelda would take months of work, such was the size of the game and the complexities of its systems.
Fast forward two weeks later, and there has been remarkable progress.
Where previously the group could only show off the game's opening cave, a new gameplay video shows the game running almost as well as it does on Nintendo's own hardware.
The framerate still isn't quite up to scratch (a complaint you could also level at the main game), but the number of things now working after so short a time is genuinely stunning.
Combat works fine, exploration and the world's physics systems appear to function correctly, you can enter and solve Shrine puzzle dungeons, you can use the game's rune powers correctly… the list goes on.

Cemmmuuuuuuu
it'll be fully ready by summer
tech improvements aside I wouldn't actually mind buying a switch because I'm out of a handheld now, but goddammit I already know their release schedule is horrific and I'll be waiting forever for a good library
especially since it looks like their handheld teams jumping up to the switch as a uniformed platform is unlikely
so they'll make 3ds games? idk wtf is going on, maybe nintendo is still undecided about what to do with its best handheld teams

The release schedule doesn't look that bad. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe next month, ARMS between May and June, Splatoon 2 between June and July, Super Mario Odyssey, Fire Emblem Warriors and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 in the fall.

what?? I thought this was the whole point of the switch
although I'm sure at this rate cemu will somehow run switch games soon lol
There is no design issue with the Joy-Con controllers, and no widespread proactive repair or replacement effort is underway. A manufacturing variation has resulted in wireless interference with a small number of the left Joy-Con. Moving forward this will not be an issue, as the manufacturing variation has been addressed and corrected at the factory level.
We have determined a simple fix can be made to any affected Joy-Con to improve connectivity.
There are other reasons consumers may be experiencing wireless interference. We are asking consumers to contact our customer support team so we can help them determine if a repair is necessary. If it is, consumers can send their controller directly to Nintendo for the adjustment, free of charge, with an anticipated quick return of less than a week. Repair timing may vary by region.
🤔
Cities Skylines was made by a teeny tiny team

It doesn't seem unlikely at all - it looks like they're just clearing out warehouses of 3DSes in North America then letting it die off, nobody can find New 3DS on shelves anymore. I'm guessing they moved the bulk of assembly lines/manufacturing capacity over to the Switch, and most of what little new stock they have is being sent to Japan/Asia. I'd expect a few more on shelves at Christmas when Pokemon hits, but it seems really clear they're getting out of the 3DS game faster than anybody expected. Apparently Switch orders are so crazy they're doubling production this FY.
