Even if you don't like Dan, I don't see how anyone can think the Bombcast is better without him

Beastcast has been better than the bombcast for a while now.
The SF office desperately needs someone to remind them that all they need is an idea and to turn on the video capture or mics to produce good content. East is doing a play-through of Megaman, Yakuza 0, and commentary for the Fast and Furious films every week while West half asses some quick looks.

Spent some time on Eos and Nexus.

By Laboured Go To PostThe ME:A reviews actually kinda make me want to try DA:I instead. Is that weird/unconscionable?Maybe you're just hungry for an MMO or want to create something special.
I still renember Woodens DA:I character or the one n8 created, which looked like a dwarf version of Diego Costa.
By Smokey Go To PostThere's a thread on GAF from an anonymous former Bioware employee and the shit that happened during Andromeda's development. Then there's thisWow. Reminds me of Mighty No 9 early tech demo which looked better than the final version.

Yeah. It's Mass Effect gameplay. It's the other areas like story and VA where it's a little cringey, but I've yet to run into the terribad animations we've seen posted.
KBM is a dope way to play too. First time I've done it in Mass Effect. Outside of the initial small adaption phase, it's been cool.
Gonna mess with the Ansel screenshot feature later .
The story is shockingly bad so far, but the game itself is fun moment to moment.
Literal opposite of Dragon Age 2

It's honestly not that bad, if you are ok with a completely mindless and dumb rpg. It has a place. Seeing as it's often on sale for peanuts, I would say it's worth a try.
just try to find a cheat engine table that lets you avoid all the resource gathering bullshit. Horrible stuff.

Nah, for what it costs these days the game is an alright distraction if you're hungry for some high fantasy.

Couldn't tell you what's going on beyond some arks missing. But I'm landing on planet and lifting dudes in the air with my hand so I'm gud.

the ps4 pro version of this game just isn't cutting it
Image quality or performance?
Or this just an obvious difference between the true 4k you played on PC? How is the HDR? With the type of game it is, I'd expect it to look nice.

It's significantly worse looking than 4k high/ultra. Uses checkerboard 4k I guess, my main character is default Ryder and his beard textures look low res and awful on the pro. Some light input lag as well making shooting feel a bit off.
HDR is whatever. They have a max HDR brightness option but not a regular ass brightness/gamma option which is dumb. But coming off of Horizon and Uncharted 4 back to back---it was like going back to the base PS4 by comparison.
I just put it on the other side for sale
going back to the PC version, 4k 25-30 fps with no input lag > this shit

I couldn't imagine playing an rpg and not being fully into the story and characters. That was like the most gripping part of Witcher 3 for me. Gameplay was what it was - not amazing but tolerable between narrative sections and me collecting Gwent cards.
I really struggle with single player titles where I don't care about what I'm doing or why I'm doing it. It's why most Platinum and Guerilla games are lost on me, yet, it seems like both studios have put out two pretty decently told stories this year already.

Same. I don't play a game for its story (or well, at least very rarely with to the moon and silent hill series being an exception), but seeing what happens next or to the characters is one of my main motivations to keep playing. I need that, and I absolutely hate if I don't care about it. Worse however is, if it forces you to watch a bunch of cutscenes and listen to a bunch of dialogue, that I struggle to care about.
Depends on the type of RPG for me. Can't tell you what happened in Diablo 3 but I still loved my time with it. Same with Skyrim.
Conversely I found nothing enjoyable out of Fallout 4 at all when the story didn't grab me. Don't know how I put up with 60 hours of that pos game. Stockholm syndrome probably

Lack of good story in Skyrim led me to never finishing it
Like...this world is way too big for me not to give a fuck about anyone, myself included
Think they tried to fix it in Fallout 4 but failed

Only games that have evoked an emotional response for me on the level of a film were made by Naughty Dog.
It's less about story but more about whether there's a reason for you to spend time with it. Story just happens to be the easiest hook out of a number of options for devs to work with.

Second is good, but also quite a time investment.
First however... It got its fanbase, but I just can't play it. Too much jank, and not a fight of the combat at all. Don't feel like I missed out on too much in the second.
It depends.
I've liked games like Legend of Dragoon, which had a by-the-numbers story but had a cool world, great soundtrack but most of all a really engaging battle system. TBH I had a better time with that game than Chrono Cross, which I still haven't finished.
But on the flip side, the 2anime4me tone in Skies of Arcadia totally undermined that game for me ("wow, it was super tragic how that city full of people just got obliterated in front of us. Let's go have more adventures! Hooray for the spirit of magical fun!") , even though it did so many other things amazingly well.
Same goes for Final Fantasy X and its angsty water polo whale dad nonsense. That game had one of the best FF battle systems hands down, a beautiful world and a couple of cool characters (Lulu), but I can only remember it as pretty dumb.

I'm still on ME trial and hit the gate so to be fair I don't think the story has even opened up yet.

I have been staring at this timecube sentence for like 3 minutes. It's fascinating.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postyall really gonna front like at the end of mgs3 you pulled the trigger with the quicknessI'm not fronting, I was just trying to see how long the game would let me not shoot.
Yeah UC2 was the first game where I finished it felt exactly the same as watching great blockbuster film.
