By DY_nasty Go To PostPersona 5 reviews sounding amazingThink there's a lull after Persona
My pockets aren't gonna survive this year
Might get a switch in that period, Zelda looks like it'd last me a month or two
By GQman2121 Go To PostIt's great that you and the majority of other new owners aren't experiencing any issues, but to go to bat against clear video evidence in this manner is bizarre. That's some Ben Carson shit.
Whoah hey, let's get one thing clear - I'm not buying one of these things (but I did get a PS4 at launch). I'm just saying there are issues that come out of every console launch (remember Xbox Ones eating discs?), and this isn't a random video, this guy's whole channel is gaming-related mockery videos, and he's done them for other launches too.
Neither you, I nor anyone else knows if these actually represent a larger or smaller per-capita failure rate. That said, yeah, the screeching thing is worse than jet engine fans.
By blackace Go To PostStill torn over if I should get ME on the PS4 or the PC..PC version will always be available while the PS4 version will only last as long as the console does.
By blackace Go To PostAs long as Origin is alive at least..I think they let you make backup disks.
By blackace Go To PostStill shook of Origin lol
I mean...Origin isn't the service that had a massive breach of security and actually let's you talk to live representatives.
Steam is pretty terrible all things considered. It was just the first to market.

PC. Faster patches. Better loot. Mods to skip the bullshit section if needed.

Better service than Steam. Full stop.

So that means they have a workshop now and is stupid mod friendly?
By Professor Beef Go To PostFor the one or two people who care, UMvC3 is available on Steam.really tempted tbh even if i already got it on ps4 but that zelda+nier+persona got my wallet dry
for honor down to 3k viewers and its only been out a month despite having a huge pop during beta and launch week

No. At one point Origin became acceptable, but it's now absolutely shit again after the redesign.
Those menus that takes forever to load, the client that has to update all the time and forgets both your login and password, the fucking friend list not working half the time either.... Whenever I see a Origin game now I just skip it, can't be bothered.
Of course nowhere near as bad as uplay, but being just less terrible than uplay is still bad.
By HasphatsAnts Go To PostBetter service than Steam. Full stop.
no. just no.
no support for any payment methods other than credit cards (steam has both debit and credit card support, steam wallet codes, cash on delivery(!!) in my region), terrible regional pricing, no workshop, no community
ea can suck my dick

By Smokey Go To PostSo much origin #fakenewsI am sure Steam tapped the phones but that is just the game business..
By sohois Go To PostI just finished Wolfenstein: The New Order. People like that game, right? I thought it was quite good.
Very keen sense of pacing. It wanted to tell a detailed story with a lot of characters and world building but never fell into extended cutscenes or something like that. Cutscenes would never be more than 10 minutes and even where story was given a lot of focus there would always be some break to chainsaw an officer or find some data. It was neither too long spent on 'downtime' or never ending 'uptime' without any break.
That being said, I didn't think the storyline was amazing. Blazkowicz was always a bit of an enigma, without much to drive him except kill all the nazis. In a way that was congruent with the Wolfenstein franchise but when this game was so story driven it needed something more. Also whilst it was obvious that the story wasn't going to be super realistic, at some points it really did defy disbelief with how things would proceed, Blazkowicz was basically immortal. They could have just redone some scenes.
I liked how the gameplay catered effectively to different styles, with a run and gun, dual wielding approach being pretty viable and fun, but players were still perfectly fine to stop and pop or just use stealth if they wanted. Of course, the stealth itself was pretty awful but it was a nice extra option and useful in the harder difficulties for clearing out the commanders. There were some continual annoyances like having to pick everything up all the time but it rarely detracted from the core gameplay loops.
It was all fairly inventive and never minded about certain mechanics being underutilized as long as there was still lots of variety for the player. Perhaps there is another version of this game where certain things are cut such that others are more tightly controlled but I'm not sure that much could have been changed to make the game better in this regard.
So to summarize I enjoyed it quite a lot. It's certainly not been left behind by developments in the past 3 years and should make a nice bout of nazi killing for anyone disturbed by recent political developments. I did find the 'hard' difficulty setting to be a bit frustrating and would suggest normal for anyone planning to play it though.
Behold, I agree 100%.
I found the plot device of "the Nazis won" as the most interesting aspect of the game. I thought it was overall good, and a necessary precursor to the FPS PERFECTION that is DOOM.
Doom is so good. Easily ,my favorite FPS campaign ever. I can't wait for Doom 2 just because I think Doom 2016 gave them enough merit to start making their own monsters and setpieces. I'd love to see Hell on Earth with some more genetically mutated demons
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostSo yea….HDR, at least as far as games, is *probably* a gimmickI don't believe this, i think there is a tangible benefit. Gimmicks usually have drawbacks too.. HDR other than a very small hit on performance does not.
DOOM was just good. I don't really get all the love.

Go on...
My only complaint about DOOM is that the initial loading times are on the long side. I think that's it.
By Smokey Go To PostGo on…
I need to test further before i do
By RobNBanks Go To PostI wanna try Nier but..Platinum has let me down too much recently. My hype was climbed way the fuck down. I did enjoy the demo though.
I demand to know all of your top FPS.
We're not talking about top as in "changed the industry." I wanna know your personal favorites.
Mine are Quake 2, Duke 3D, Crysis, HL2, AvP, Overwatch, and of course DOOM

used to play delta force a lot as a kid, not one of my favourite series though
It kinda goes against GTA's actual propensity for making the creation of mayhem as morally blank as possible, but I'd kill for a GTA where certain parts of the city felt anywhere near as alive as the two villages that I've hit in BOTW. Each open world game has a different motive, but damn if this isn't some shit I want to see in other games.
TimeSplitters 2, HL 2, Half Life: Opp For, Crysis, Goldeneye, Team Fortress 2, and Wolfenstein: TNO.
Honorable mentions go to No One Lives Forever (free the license you bastards :( ) and Quake 2.

Spent the most time by far playing the original Halo trilogy (RIP) but this list made me realize how much I played pc games on my shitty family computer as a kid. I got the cheapest graphics card possible to run BF2 and it was always a gamble if the next patch would break it for me.

cod4 mp if that counts, black ops 1 too. I'm not too fond of FPS games so I can't really name many that I found amazing.
Halo CE, Maken X (though that's more melee combat), Deus Ex HR, Metro:LL, Destiny, Black Ops 2, Bioshock Infinite.
Tribes, Half-Life, Jedi Knight Dark Forces 2, Jedi Outcast, Halo CE, Halo 2, Unreal Tournament, Q3 Team Arena, Soldiers of Fortune 2, Fear, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, Bioshock 1/2, L4D 2, Chronicles of Riddick, Metroid Prime
I think my biggest "you should feel bad for not playing" are Deus Ex and Battlefield 2.

By s y Go To Postcod4 mp if that counts, black ops 1 too. I'm not too fond of FPS games so I can't really name many that I found amazing. You really missed out if you never got to play Natural Selection in its heyday. Class-based, fps-rts hybrid, asymmetric command structure, resource distribution, and movement/combat between the two teams. Also, very inventive maps, high skill-cap while also very team-oriented, and opportunity for creative use of placeable structures. Lots of different, viable strategies, too.
I'm basically always keeping an ear out to hear word of something as good as the original NS, but nothing has really come close. The sequel feels way too sluggish and TF2 didn't have the depth and map complexity I wanted, nor the RTS aspects.
