I actually agree with Dy about Smash. It's fun as hell as a party game (I've been done with the series since GCN cause I don't ever get the opportunity to play party games locally) but as soon as it comes to "turn off items and 1v1 me bro" I nope the fuck out. It's boring as fuck, I don't care how good you can get at it. It's when Dy tries to extend this opinion to Splatoon where he loses me.

I’ll agree with that. The gameplay is serviceable for it’s purpose of giving the player something to do between set pieces and QTEs without being outright awful.
So I’d rather replay DMC3/4, MGR or Bayonetta than get hyped for God of War.

Doubt they are going to be much alike. He is just doing scenery modelling and such, but they did pick up quite a few from Ready at Dawn as a lot of them left with the uncertainty of the studio after the order.

However they laid off like 50 people and the rest stayed and worked on GoW, unless they got an unrevealed title in the works, which I really doubt.

Barlog is also the person behind the best game in the series. The games are fine on their own, but the second game is really, really good. Kind of similar to Uncharted in a way. So that's one reason to be hopeful this new game is at least something fresh.

They were a fucking huge studio before though, and I am pretty certain still got two teams. Obviously one is probably still early development though and the focus is on god of war.
I expect it to be better than the other GoW's. But seeing as they were pure shit, that isn't saying much.
