Glad I havent had an outage.
What? The image shows up fine. Your company sucks balls.
Usually outages like that are caused by a Tier 1 provider, it always used to be Level 3 but they are a part of Centurylink now.
I'm sure Comcast will reimburse everyone affected to the tune of $2 per outage day on their next bill. So that makes up for the inconvenience.

"I work from home what the fuck, ive been without service for 3 days"
"Ok sir, well you're plan is $60 a month, lets divide that by 30 and you had an outage for how long? 3 days, okay so I'll issue a $6 credit on your next months bill"
Then they'd ask for a supervisor who would then proceed to place them on a 30 minute hold or how ever long it took for then to hang-up.
we have Google fiber here but you basically have to live downtown
I think it's pretty much DOA as a service for 99.9% of people

Because I can transfer you to that department and it can be shut off within seconds. You can then go and find another service provider in your area. Oh, there are no other broadband providers in your area? Well then maybe you want to calm the fuck down and wait like everyone else, and understand when I say we're working on it, that we're working on it and that I don't know how long it's going to be. Is Comcast even in NY? When I was looking at ISPs for my new apartment I don’t even remember seeing them as an option (not that I would have chosen them anyway). There’s like 3 other options so I can see why Comcast doesn’t even bother, can’t have that same conversation they had with us that they had with GQman
I like how people thinking GB hiring new people would make them somehow not have trash tier taste

Ben fucking sucks though, already at Patrick stage where I wish he'd leave.
Assumption that BotW will revolutionise open world games, and Odyssey will do the same for platformers was a bit strange.

also a top 10 with destiny 2 and dream daddy but no yakuza 0 or divinity 2 is not fine

They just didn't play enough divinity for it to be eligible really, Vinny is the only one who played it at all iirc. Rory as well, but fuck Rory.

Liking PUBG so far.
Still figuring out the map for best possible sniper's nest.
How many y'all have it on pc?
Maybe we got enough to resurrect the PUBG thread?
Also are items randomized per round?

Oh hey, Steins;Gate 0 is finally 50% off. I felt burned because I got the first one at launch and it was on sale at a really steep discount after a couple of months. Figures this time it took them more than a year.
Adventures of Mana is dirt cheap too, might jump on that.
What am I doing I will never finish all of this.
No lie, when they hired him was pretty much the point where I totally disengaged from their site. He's so damn boring it killed their podcast. I don't get it either, they could have had just about anyone, why somebody that awkward?

i do
i feel like items are randomized but certain areas have a higher likelihood of having good stuff
Do all the main PUBG streamers play first person these days or no?

I talk with many industry folk and quite a few of them told me that Botw is already a huge influence during creative meetings and some even gifted switches to employees so they could experience it.
By DY_nasty Go To Postpeople mainly play first person to escape the cheats, from what i understoodYou can cheese the third-person camera to a much greater degree than you can with the sword in Destiny 2. It's ridiculous and leads to many deaths that feel "cheap".
By Mariosalic Go To PostI talk with many industry folk and quite a few of them told me that Botw is already a huge influence during creative meetings and some even gifted switches to employees so they could experience it.I don't doubt it, but the argument was basically 'Zelda and Mario should beat PUBG as they are revolutionary' which is assumptive, and ignores the fact that PUBG has already been copied in the months since its release, and will also likely be aped in the coming years by full releases.
By Kibner Go To PostYou can cheese the third-person camera to a much greater degree than you can with the sword in Destiny 2. but pubg is not a revolutionary concept, its just that they were the first ones to create a good game out of it.

By Xpike Go To Postbut pubg is not a revolutionary concept, its just that they were the first ones to create a good game out of it.Both PUBG and BotW copied off several previous games that did the same shit. They just did it in a way that is more enjoyable to a larger player base.

By Xpike Go To Postbut pubg is not a revolutionary concept, its just that they were the first ones to create a good game out of it.Their success will revolutionise things if it happens, the concepts in both games have all been done before. Not all the concepts tied into one package, but seperately at least.

I think I mighy be falling out of love with open world games regardless. Got a bit sick of Horizon, Skyrim, TW3, AC:O, BotW, Fallout 4 and Fallout: NV after exploring about half the map
GTA and RDR have just the right amount of focus for me.

*scratches head*
I really don't see what Zelda is doing that's all that crazy. *shrugs*
It's climb everything system and having a rich economy to cook food with is cool, beyond that I don't see much. The side quests are all time bad--"pls help me find my chickens."
The whole doing away with obligatory missions, allowing you to do whatever you want after the tutorial is done, it's a design philosophy that was never adopted for AAA open world games until now.

It's design is actually a revolutionary take on the open world formula, which is why every major dev had a meeting talking about it this year. The way it guides you to (or hints at) discoveries through the world is really organic compared to the 'here's all the dots on the map in your area' way that type of design has been handled in the past. They did a great job curating the design of that world, one I'm not sure that many devs will have the time/resources/talent to copy.
There's also the emergent gameplay that made the game a hit on streams, so many weird little things you could do and combinations of systems.
And maybe the most important thing was just how alive they made the world feel. I played through mist of the game with family, and people walking by who don't even care about video games would just stop, sit down and be entranced by it.
By Hitch Go To PostDream Daddy getting on there was blatantly just to shut Abby up, it's like they purposefully did a shite job of arguing against it and rolled over with little encouragement
Seeing as pretty much no one else had played it, except Vinny who really liked it and wanted it on there as well, that seems reasonable? Same shit that happens every year with Brad in every single category.
It doesn't help the only argument they could make against it was Dans "IT'S A DATING SIM!!!"
By W Go To PostSeeing as pretty much no one else had played it, except Vinny who really liked it and wanted it on there as well, that seems reasonable? Same shit that happens every year with Brad in every single category.Alex loved Kakuza while Dan liked it. Pretty much the same situation as Yakuza, though I thought Dream Daddy's genre and format would have seen it lose out and there seemed to be much more interest in Yakuza from those who haven't played it.
Maybe I'm being harsh, it seemed to slide onto the list at Yakuza's expense far too easily though. Would help if Dan wasn't making a tit of himself with his counter-arguments.
Hah I actually added that part while you were quoting. His only actual argument was "IT'S A DATING SIM" and then shaking his head. Vinny liked it, Abby loved it. I'm fine with it being there, think it's nice to have some more niche games on the list.
Overall I really liked the GOTY discussions this year, even if I find it hard to agree with most of it. But Brad seemed a bit less of a bitch which helped a lot.

you can roll down there if you want but you don't have the tools to do it really. getting those tools is the new story/progression/etc.

You can also go and do some shrines and try the final dungeon.
Or go do 1/2 Divine Beasts, then try your hand at the final dungeon.
Or just never do the final dungeon until you've 100% the game.
It's freedom that previous open worlds, a genre that markets itself on how free it is, has never offered before, all in a world that feels like it's been lived in before the player arrived.
