By Dark PhaZe Go To PostWe probably should have gotten Halo: Battlefield by now.
The arena style gameplay is just…it's peaked. And that's not a bad thing. Put it on steam, update it constantly with graphic overall, add maps, etc, but it's peaked.
lol
Warzone was the answer to that.
Will probably be closer to what they envisioned in 6.
They escaped shit for lootbox REQ's in H5 but if they try it again they'll catch serious shit.
Yea, they offer free maps and what not, but that entire Warzone shit is P2W.

When they started barely having BTB it was like "what's the point anymore" especially since the smaller 4v4s just turned into some RPS type shit with the loadouts. I stopped with 4 and didn't even purchase 5. They took a good feeling game and just made it into every other fps on the market. That's not why I played Halo.
There's no way they do away with Req packs, but after the outrage this year over like Battlefront and Forza, I'm curious what shape they'll take. I imagine it'll mostly be cosmetics. Which I actually think still sucks since customization is something that was in Reach and 4 and they took back from players.
Is the Standard Fortnite game (which includes the Battle Royale version) worth it? It's on sale for $19.99 on PSN. Battlefield 1 Revolution which is base game + all 4 expansion packs is also on sale for $23.99.
I didn't even pay attention to halo 5, they did what now? God I forgot about the hilariously bullshit progression and fucking with nades and shit. Halo 4 and up is such trash.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostI didn't even pay attention to halo 5, they did what now? God I forgot about the hilariously bullshit progression and fucking with nades and shit. Halo 4 and up is such trash. The core arena gameplay of 5 is awesome. It's a marked improvement over 4. If there's a problem with it, it's the map variety since the majority of the DLC maps they put out were just remixes of existing maps.
The Rig is a good map. I don't need to see again, but this time we're adding lava and we're calling it Molten.
I'm still just not interested in loadouts and ordinances and you gotta earn picking up nades off corpses.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostI'm still just not interested in loadouts and ordinances and you gotta earn picking up nades off corpses.None of these are in Halo 5.
By rodeoclown Go To PostNone of these are in Halo 5.Might check it out then unless it's quicker TTK.
Is it bad that I'm still waiting on double shot and BXR to return
Doubleshot in particular is something that should probably be in any arena style shooter. The idea of a risk vs reward approach that allows to potentially come back from not getting the first shot with a risky but skillful manuever at the cost of you being vulnerable after is actually a really cool gameplay mechanic.

By Random Ass Username Go To PostMight check it out then unless it's quicker TTK.It's really not that fast, even with things like sprint and clamber. Smart scope even functions the same way zooming used to in the older titles (when you get shot, you get kicked out of it). It's back to the old ways of controlling power weapons and points on the map to gain the advantage and more methodical than most shooters out there.
What I liked about Halo was in being slower it actually allowed for much more kinds of styles of play. Some folks were just crazy aggressive still with crazy TTKs because of their ability to body shot then head shot or body shot just enough to bxr. Then you just had the plasma holders who'd then switch to pistol or br to get the headshot they needed. These days juking/dodging one full charged plasma shot seems like nothing. Then you also had your dudes who seemed to be able to BR folks from any fucking spot and double jumped insanely quick. Getting good at nade bouncing off various walls. Fuck I miss old school Halo.
Wtf when I booted up my PS4 Destiny 2 was on my dashboard with the option to buy it. Next gen ads I guess

Never seen this before on my PS4 lol
The skill ceiling in Halo 5 mp is quite high due to 343 putting a heavy focus of esports in it for better or worse. Im sure if it wasn't on Xbox most of y'all would like it.
They really need to bring back ranks. The road to 50 was amazing.

I played Halo 5 on my cousin's Xbox One X over the Christmas weekend.
Spent like an hour each in single player and multi.
I can tell you that it's a beautiful, visually stunning and addictively fun game.
The game is legit good.

By Red Blaster Go To Posteven a shit persona game is better than sex offender chronicles 2. i dont care how good the gameplay is when the game will gladly shovel shit down your throat via cutscenes that are about on the level of an episode of barney and friends.the irony in this when one game lets you date a middle schooler and the one that doesn't is the one you call sex offender chronicles 2 lmao
dont believe dy's lies
yeah, some characters in x2 got hilariously tig ole bitties. what a world. outside of that, you're getting a better game, story, and you don't have to make the difficult choice of fucking your pediatrician or your homeroom teacher
Made it to Mario's post game content. This is different. I enjoyed pretty much all of them, but I haven't had this much fun with the more recent one's, since...Galaxy. Damn.
Lol @ the ending. Be a "good guy", brehs. Lmao. Link would never do this.
Nintendo has two of my GOTY noms...easy.

Arekkz seems like a less twattish version of TotalBiscuit
Would like it if he covered a broader range of games, but I enjoy his MH deep dives

Granted I usually enjoy BF games though last one I played was BF3 on PC. Game is definitely most active on PS4 too.
Oh man... I can already tell Nier's story is going to mess with me. It's got me catching feelings just fighting trash mobs.
By rvy Go To Postthe single player is fun?Yeah, the single player is also hella fun, especially if you can rush in guns blazing and strafe around like a madman and get away with it.

I take it for what it is, a sci-fi bang bang, and just try to speedrun through as much of it as I can. The faster you can pace yourself through it, the more you can move along from one firefight to the next without worrying about the plot too much at all. You make it about the adrenaline.
Battlefront 2 is on sale for $35 and I'm being told that EA changed all the pay-to-win shit and made it so that the OG whales aren't vastly overpowered compared to newbies.

the gap is still there, its just not nearly as pronounced as it used to. i don't think you'll be able to notice the differences right away though. its there, but its not in your face like before.
like you'll see "holy fuck" vaders but not "holy fuck why cant he die? did he really use that with zero fucking cooldown AND regen all his health? wtf *logoff*" vaders
Nier is fucking bananas. I'm fighting this boss firing bullet hell patterns while dropping crucified androids on me at a nightmare robot Disney Land and it's like...who thought all this twisted shit up?
It's kind of making me forget about FF XV.

But the story sucks, the Promethean knight encounters are generally a bore (Halo 2's brutes Pt II), and the repeat boss fights are bad. It does so very little to advance the overall series narrative that it's genuinely perplexing how it was okay'd at every level. You spend 90% of the game with Spartan Locke and a group of dudes looking for a plot and a main character. All of the progression happens in the like the last two levels when you find Master Chief and Cortana reveals herself to be the new big bad.
Breath of Wild, they really fucking nailed exploration. Man, it's crazy how small stuff like not indicating every interesting thing on the map with a question or quest mark really adds to the experience.
Everything is geared towards the player thinking "hey, what's that over there? I wonder if there's something on top of this mountain? What's behind that thing?
I was just wondering around in the snowy parts after I got some warm clothes and ended up freeing a fucking dragon from a curse lol. There was no quest, I didn't have listen to some dumb ass dialogue, I had no way point to follow or anything. Just me fucking around exploring, adventuring.

Actually, the dlc is on sale right now, I should get it for the eventual day that I go back to finish it.
I don't hate it. My problems with the game are the dry combat, half the cast having a stick up their ass and the other half seeming...I dunno, forced? Like even the wild & unruly characters seem a bit artificial much of the time. Blackwall is the only guy I really like because he's just pissed off at all of it all of the time.
There's a bunch of other stuff that's good. The world is nice to look at, there's some decent lore to find. There's mountains to do. I like the stargazing puzzles. But I've spent the last two years getting into the game and then drifting right out again.

Yeah, some of my best memories of that game were just wandering around the empty frozen Northwest and the surprising amount of stuff you'd stumble across in the frozen wastes.

As if you won't be on Dragon Ball day one.

Oh.
Anyway, Nier seems alright so far. I just took down a skyscraper-sized boss while flying around in a transforming aero mech.
It obviously has a limited budget...characters aside, a lot of the geometry looks like it came out of a PS3 game. Most of the budget seems to have gone into the soundtrack, which is actually really good so far. It has tons of weird Zone of the Enders/Attack on Titan singing. Actually, the vibe of the whole game feels alot like AoT crossed with Ghost in the Shell crossed with I don't know what.
