By reilo Go To PostNo lie LFK, it gets worse.
I finished the first questline.
You know how there's always a tragic death? If it's Prompto that's okay.
Now I am watching a lengthy cutscene of them checking out a rusty RV.
Now they are testing out plastic Walmart garden chairs.
REAL AMERICA FANTASY EXPERIENCE IT IS LIKE ARE IN A BOY BAND AND LEFT JAPAN
Prompto is taking pictures of my fake friends. Presumably to show to other pretend friends on fake Instagram, which would be showing artificial poses of fake people on a fake version of a thing that is already fake. That is four levels of sad delusion deep. Now I can only think of lonely outsiders who have nobody in their lives and could somehow find solace here.
This is delving into unintended levels of existential ennui. I'm just feeling bad for all the people this game was made for now. Because I know they're out there, and they probably deserve better from this cold uncaring world.

I liked Prompto more than the other boys

Ratchet and Clank(2016) is great so far. Loving the pace and how I'm constantly getting upgrades. And its just a joy to look at. Also groovitron and Proton drum combo is so broken. Playing on hard and not breaking a sweat using those 2 weapons and the pyrocitor.
By Smokey Go To PostIt's a necessity tho
I’ve coasted by without it fine. The only reason I’d get one is for the dpad, and at this point I’ve just conceded to using the analogue stick for 2D games.
By data Go To PostPrey is probably my GOTY. Game was so good.torn between this and Nier, but Prey was really fucking good
Still need to play Nier.
Started it once when I loaned it from a friend, but I couldn't really get into it properly.
Haven't started Prey yet either, should have done that instead of Wolfenstein 2 or Evil Within 2...
GOTY is Persona 5 and Yakuza 0 for me.

$10 is a steal, since that includes the season pass and the first Halo Wars.
HW2 is when 343 figured out the Halo art style and story telling. It's a good campaign that gives me hope for Halo 6.

Couple of reviews from me:
Reigns: Her Majesty If you're not familiar with Reigns, the original was released about a year ago on mobile and PC, and essentially asked you to run a kingdom via a Tinder-like interface where every decision was reduced to a swipe left or swipe right. Some people will probably read "Tinder-like interface" and immediately run for the hills but trust me when I say it worked really well and was a fine game. Whilst the original put you in the role of a medieval king, Her Majesty has you play the Queen as the name implies. This being a medieval queen, that obviously has a quite a different flavour in terms of the decision making you are asked for and makes for a fresh experience even if the core gameplay is largely the same. The overarching story is a bit stronger this time round, though the satire is far too on the nose most of the time (Women had it difficult in earlier periods? Colour me shocked!). The biggest problem with the game this time round is that the impacts of your decisions are a lot more obtuse and unclear and you will likely spend a good period of your early playthroughs blundering into deaths. Nonetheless, it remains a good timewaster and anyone who enjoyed Reigns should pick it up. It comes in at £2.79 on the Play store.
Valkyria Chronicles 3 The third game in the series technically never made it outside of Japan, but a passable fan translation was released so it's not too difficult for anyone to give it a go nowadays. Whilst it was only released on the PSP, emulation via PPSSPP is good enough these days that any half decent phone or PC will be able to play it.
Despite being a PSP only title, the game loses very little compared to the original which released on PS3. Gameplay is not harmed and though the beautiful cel-shading is no longer present some intelligent presentation helps avoid that becoming an issue. In fact, i would say that from both a gameplay and presentation standpoint the 3rd game outdoes the original. Gameplay wise is mostly a result of small changes that make the game more strategic, like greater class and weapon options, more interesting map design and more strategic decision making outside of tactical maps. On the other hand, one would probably expect that a sequel would have such improvements.
The real difference comes in the superiority of the story. VC3 is set at the same time as VC1 but follows a 'secret' unit, tasked with doing the dirty work that comes with a war. There is plenty of overlap with the original but it always manages to keep it natural and not forced. The biggest strength of VC3 comes from realistic character motivations and depth to the various antagonists that makes them much more interesting than the cliched psychopaths of VC1. The story is not without issues, namely that it appears to have been written by 2 separate people; one guy in charge of the major story aspects and one guy in charge of adding various bits of anime bullshit. However that bullshit is pretty minor and shouldn't be too tough to ignore. I should also mention that the fan translation isn't the best but I don't think it was too flawed overall.
With VC4 coming, there is no better time to experience what is the best game of the series.
Tactics Ogre: Let us cling together I can't say I've played every strategy RPG ever made, but I have played a lot of them and most of the great ones. Without a doubt, Tactics Ogre is the best of the lot and it isn't even close. In fact this game should easily be within the 10 greatest games ever made. But for a handful of QoL issues, Tactics Ogre continues to shit all over modern video games and it is frankly embarrassing how superior the game manages to be on nearly every aspect.
The gameplay will be familiar to anyone who has played any of the Final Fantasy Tactics series, it is a not atypical isometric strategy RPG with a world map. You move between locations, you fight battles, you do side quests, you improve your units, etc. etc. Gameplay wise the game isn't a massive break from other titles, relying mainly on a refreshing originality in its classes/units/races/etc. alongside generally excellent map design. The main criticism I would have is that classes aren't especially unique, but it is a minor flaw.
The storyline concerns a conflict over the continent of Valeria, which has been beset by war since the death of a unifying king some years earlier. You are part of the Wallister clan, squeezed between the more powerful Galgistani and Bakram, whilst also being manipulated by the foreign invaders from Lodis and Xenobia. Over the course of the game the main character will have to fight to free their people whilst dealing with personal revenge, betrayal, the breaking of family and friendships as well as facing the weight of war. The game is full of choice and consequence, all of it utterly natural and on a par with modern paragons such as the Witcher series; there is no Good/Neutral/Badass here. It's really quite a shame comparing this game to the modern Japanese RPG which has been stripped of any such nuance, even with Matsuno's own titles.
I'm not much for describing music or art, but safe to say it is excellent. Tactics Ogre was re released on the PSP, so as with VC3 there really is no reason not to play it today. I will repeat: This is the best SRPG ever made and one of the best games ever made

Y’know when old people try their best to get along with “the kids” and show they’re still cool and relatable but it just comes off as weird to everybody watching?
That’s basically the Polygon PUBG review in a nutshell.

Played PUBG 1.0 earlier for the first time (only did a quick test previously). Some lag issues, which was to be expected on day 1, other than that it runs great. Only played a couple of matches on the new map and man, there are some sensational sniper spots around some of the cities.
Gonna be good. Vaulting. :lord:

New map has got levels to it. The elevation changes intreouce a lot more variables , and there's a lot more towns and villages, and those areas seem to have a bunch of buildings with levels and windows. Read that they're also working on a 3rd map, which will be snow based.
