I just discovered my university library lends out PS4 games, I've got Injustice 2 until January now. This is my big chance to learn a second combo with Dr. Fate.
If you like Uncharted, that game is shockingly good. That's a great price for it, the included DLC is one of the best parts.
I look at that game pretty hard every time I'm in the store, but it looks like the type of old school adventure game I'm not really into.
By reilo Go To PostPicked up Rise of Tomb Raider 20th Anniversary Edition yesterday for $20 at Gamestop. It was the cheapest I could find anywhere. It's still $60 on PSN for whatever idiotic fucking reason.

By W Go To Post3 hours into The Pillars of Earth and it's pretty pretty good. It's like… if telltale games were still good… and looked good.

Well as said I am only 3 hours in, but that is very far from the reality of the game so far. I loved old school point and click back in the day, but also have little patience for it today, but there is absolutely no pixel hunting in this so far, or bizarre item combinations. Still haven't been stuck, story is progressing nicely, and lots of conversations rather than puzzle solving. It's pretty much a 2D telltale game so far, except far better told.

I just couldn't get myself to finish it because it lacked the sort of thrill seeking adventure I was looking for. It just felt like grimdark survival for grimdark survival's fate, and I wasn't in the mood to finish it. If I ever rebuild a PC, maybe I'll finish the first.
DY convinced me the second one has less of those vibes and they streamlined quite a bit of it, and for $20 it's basically the price of a SF movie ticket.
Well speaking of a Tomb Raider just checked if that was the cheapest and if you have a Target with it in stock it might be on clearance for $11.98.
Just checked my local Targets on brickseek and there’s 2 nearby that should have it in stock at $11.98. Just checked if there’s any in SF and they’re all sold out though one store did have it for $11.98.

So that's kind of the stuff I have limited tolerance for. It's like, Beyond Shadowgate is cool and Grim Fandango was an alright playthrough with a FAQ, but stuff like Broken Sword put me to sleep.

That sounds like the kind of thing I could get behind.

I never played the first but that's not the vibe in this one.

The way Tomb Raider 2013 seems to revel in showing you increasingly gruesome death animations and scenarios for Lara is so damn weird. I really like playing that game, but when you mess up, make a wrong jump, and now she's suddenly impaled on a spike and flailing about, it's very offputting.
Ride of the Tomb Raider does a lot less of that. The story is still whatever, but it's a joy to play and explore those environments.

Tomb raider reboot to Rise of the tomb raider reminded me of going from Uncharted 2 to Uncharted 3. Not terrible, but just more of the same, and done at a rate that is just becoming down right boring. Feels like there's no actual danger of failing/dying most of the time.

By Red Blaster Go To Postplaying re7 gold (got a price error code from era), this shit is dope–just got to the second floor of the old houseIt falls off a little at the end but I still put it in the GOAT tier of REs. Up there with RE2 and REmake. Jack is amazing.

Fuck I miss Chrome Hounds
Man, I gotta hand it to Netherrealm. Injustice 2's single-player mode blows away any other I've ever played in terms of production, they went all out for this thing. At a time when the Tekken team doesn't even want to offer a training mode, I really hope the Japanese devs are taking notes.

Db really needs some female characters though. Short hair Videl would have been a good pick.

Yep. That's my only problem. I'm not trying to hear that dumb excuse about certain characters not being able to fight Beerus and whatnot. Videl would have been cool. Future Mai would have been dope. Bulma with capsules, the Saiyan girls, and Chi-Chi with kaioken. It's a versus game. They could have made more.
That said, this shit looks crazy.
Shame its coming out the same day as MonHun
And that I've never liked an Arc game
South Park just put out a gig update. Must be new DLC

DBZF got me contemplating buying a fight stick even though in all likelihood I’ll regret buying one lol.
Why is Cyborg such an asshole in this game? Like don't get me wrong, it's a refreshing change from the zero personality he usually has, but he's ready to murder someone with a smile in just about every scene.
beat re7
game loses steam after leaving the baker farm, seems like they ran out of money with the zoe/mia choice but still dope all-around especially for only 25 bux. a true return to form. cant wait to jump into the dlc

By Smokey Go To PostOn a scale of 10, how scary
first 3 hours or so are pretty intense--i'd say an 8, levels off a bit after that
By Smokey Go To PostOn a scale of 10, how scary
initially 8 but becomes stupid after the halfway point, falling off into mediocre "what were they thinking" 4 for the final quarter.
Still a good game
