By Pennywise Go To PostHow far are you?I'm about 5 hours in and I spent most of them exploring Union, doing side quests, gathering weapons / resources. I'm currently in Chapter 4, going through The Marrow, on my way to City Hall.
Alot of people I've spoken to, said that the game is getting weaker towards the finale.
I enjoyed TEW1 and I can understand why somebody who really liked the original would feel TEW2 is a step down in a lot of ways that pertain to Mikami's style, but so far I'm rather digging the more linear & understandable storytelling and the semi-open world approach. It brings something new to the series, which is what I'm mostly interested in whenever I decide to tackle any sequel. Also, the artiste villain seems interesting.
Hope things will keep escalating and won't fall apart later on.

We played that shit at a lan party, passing around the ISO I remember. What a horrible game.
Right now, I'm actively playing Mario + Rabbids and Super Mario World. Hoping to finish both before Odyssey comes out, but I'll settle for just finishing the former.

I watched Game Grumps' playthrough of MCL. It brought back awful memories when I played that game.

While many jobs are demanding, the conditions in this industry are uniquely unforgiving. Most game developers in the United States do not receive extra compensation for extra hours. They may gaze with envy at their colleagues in the film industry, where unions help regulate hours and ensure overtime pay. Their income pales in comparison to what’s offered in other fields with reputations for brutal hours, like banking and law. The average American game developer earned $83,060 in 2013, according to a Gamasutra survey, or less than half the pay of a first-year associate at a New York law firm.
I've just accepted that I will never like Mario
Odyssey looks like it couldn't possibly do any more to get me on board, but it just doesn't look like something I want to play.
BotW got me on board with Zelda when I'd never been interested and bounced off of ALBW, and I think I've outgrown my anti-Nintendo bias, but still.
Any rumours about when proper Fire Emblem and Pokémon games will be coming to Switch?

Yeah, Mario bores me after 30 mins, everyone of em. Something's off about the colors in Oddysey too.
Zelda still looks like the only game worth owning on the Switch. So I might as well build a PC.

Fire Emblem is 2018
Pokemon should hit in 2018 or 19.

Both trash. I have zero interest in playing games like Until Dawn or Life is Strange. Watching them on YouTube does the job.
wut
If they're worth watching, they're not trash surely?
Whether you're willing to pay for them or not

Tight controls are my number 1 thing in gaming. I wouldn't play until dawn with a gun to my head.
After playing Super Mario RPG for the past week or so, I've started to appreciate it a bit more. But holy shit is it easy as fuck.

FF VI is still a very good game. I'm playing the Steam version and having a blast. Yeah, I don't agree with the design of some of the redone sprites, but it's not enough to take away from my enjoyment.
I'm going for a 100% achievement run while also staying fairly low level (though, not as low level as I could be). Wanting to get more efficiency from esper level ups, is all.

Oh damn. I've started this game a couple of times but never finished it - though I did watch a friend play through all the best parts back in the day. But you just made me realize I would play the shit out of this game with PSN trophies.

Roughly 200 hours played without ever beating it. Hoping to change that this time!
Dancing Mad is one of Uematsu's best compositions and totally worth seeing the final dungeon through to the end.

Oh, one thing that is making this FF VI run even easier than normal is taking the suggestion I read elsewhere and just stick everyone in the backrow. Abilities (for the most part) and spells don't care about what row you are in.
https://www.ea.com/games/starwars/battlefront/battlefront-2/news/progression-oct-2017
We went into Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II with a goal to make the deepest, biggest Star Wars™ game you've ever played. That meant transporting you to all three eras and handing you a huge assortment of heroes, classes, and vehicles – as well as bringing tons of free post-launch content to all Star Wars Battlefront II players.
The Beta gave us a welcome chance to test all of our systems in action and tune things up for better balance. A few weeks back, we mentioned we were going to take another look at how the progression system works. After incorporating feedback from the Beta, we’re happy to share our plans for launch:
Epic Star Cards, the highest tier of Star Cards available at launch, have been removed from Crates. To help keep everyone on a level playing field, these Star Cards will primarily be available through crafting, with the exception of special Epic Star Cards available through pre-order, deluxe, and starter packs.
You'll need to reach a certain rank to craft upgraded Star Cards. You won't be able to buy a bunch of Crates, grind everything up into crafting materials, and immediately use them to get super powerful Star Cards. You can only upgrade the ability to craft higher tier Star Cards by ranking up through playing the game.
Weapons are locked behind specific milestones. While a select few will be found in Crates, the rest can only be attained by play. Want to unlock a new weapon for your Heavy? Play as a Heavy and you’ll gain access to the class’s new weapons.
Class-specific gear and items can be unlocked by playing as them. As you progress through your favorite class, you’ll hit milestones granting you class-specific Crates. These will include a mix of Star Cards and Crafting Parts to benefit your class’s development.
This system, as well as all of the others, will be continually iterated on and improved. As we first announced at EA Play in June, we’re committed to keeping the community together. All upcoming weapons, maps, heroes, and vehicles introduced in Star Wars Battlefront II’s post-release content will be free so that players can play alongside friends as the world of Star Wars Battlefront II continues to grow. We know that the magic is in the balance, and we're going to make sure that we continue to make a game that is fun for everyone.
