Going for the Platinum in Metal Gear Solid 4. I've beat the game seven times in the last week and have one gold trophy remaining. This Big Boss Extreme run is kicking my ass. I don't know if I'm going to be able to finish this under the five hour time limit. It's very challenging.
Just started the Avenger Defense mission
I fear this is where my campaign will end
Even if it does, I've had a tonne of fun playing it and will start a new one in a couple of months probably. The metagame is miles better than it was in Enemy Unknown imo
Do I want to keep a couple of soldiers next to the ramp, or try and get them all pushing towards the objective?

They actually have some great tips on getting through each act quickly, as well as good tips for Act 3 and a No Alert Run for Act 5.
The hardest parts of a BBE run are Act 1 and Act 3 tbh. Everything else is fine.
Lads, UT99? Whatever game you're talking about is inferior and most likely shit so forget it and play a real game.

Act 1 was absolutely the most difficult. Act 2 was a breeze. Act 3, which is terrible by design and worse on Boss Extreme, ended up going pretty well too. Took about 90 minutes. I got lucky on the bike section though. Acts 4 and 5 went smoothly.
The boss battles we're what I expected, though the quick recovery time for the tranqs made the Frogs in the sniper fight pretty intense. She also abused that unstoppable rush attack way to often.
Liquid also whipped my ass for a good half hour before I got the timing cues down.
Absurd narrative but very Metal Gear. Glad I went back and did a trophy run. It's a great game in full HD that runs at 60 frames most of the time and has a lot to give from it's underrated gun play. Those emblems that require high kill counts were a lot of fun.
Gave up on Until Dawn. I draw the line at Ouija boards.
Onward to...Dead Space 2 perhaps. If I'm not too afraid.

Gonna watch a Let's Play of Until Dawn at Halloween
What a great game. Can never be bothered to replay games like that, though I can spend hours watching playthroughs

Congrats, that's no easy platinum. I didn't even try.
I'm back at the end of Guacamelee, the game's not that hard until the last boss. I need to summon the willpower to bang my head against that wall for ~20 mins until I beat him.

I just finished Walking Dead Season 2. No platinum in this one, lame. Though it's hard to complain since you get 100% of the trophies just by finishing the game, and it's neither long nor hard. But still.
I am now done with all the Telltale games on Vita. Also lame.
Hey, you'll get no argument from me.

Dynamic Resolution with max being 2560x1440, but it doesn't hit there often.
No checkerboarding used at all
Unless they add a performance patch later, doesn't look like it'll hit the resolution of other Pro Andromeda games (1800 w/ checkerboarding)
GT Sport Demo download is up, but doesn't go live until 10/9

Going to play Hotline Miami next. Never finished it the summer it was released on consoles.
By s y Go To PostStill got a solid 40 hours of fun out of MGSV. Gameplay was excellent!
WOAT
The open ended structure for MGS V changes your approach, but the controls and core gameplay are very much the same in the fourth game actually.
The guns are all so fun to commit murder. The full auto Glock is insane to run on up a group of soldiers with.
Also, visually the hair on all the characters--specifically the women--stood out to me as being really good even for current gen standards.

Also the tits were great. Completely unnecessary and a bit awkward at times having a character in a bikini all the time but they looked great.
finished dual destinies. the special case was ridiculous, in a good way.
now to play spirit of justice. I really need pursuit ~cornered~ to make a comeback, hypest game music of all time.

the gran turismo sport "demo" visuals are insane. it doesn't go live until monday, but you can let it sit and it will cycle through replays, various cars, interiors, scrapes, etc
before you even start it gives you prompts to set up your display, ask if you're running hdr, adjust hdr brightness etc.
this is by far the best implementation of HDR i've seen in a game. the lightning in GT is always top tier anyway, but jfc. the entire package should be used to validate a pro, 4k, and hdr
kado ;_;

It's immediately noticeable. colors pop all over the place and combined with PDs lighting, it looks crazy.

Yamauchi went over details of what the PS4 Pro version of Gran Turismo Sport will bring, with 4K (with a 1800p checkerboard resolution), HDR and wide colour support. The new version will support current HDR TV devices as well as future models, and is capable of reaching a brightness of up to 10,000 nits.
In more straight-up terms, this will be the first Gran Turismo that will be able to accurately mimic the distinctive red found on Ferraris. If you've ever been to an F1 race you might have noticed the slightly strange orange glow to the older Ferraris, a trick used so that when shown on standard TVs they look more like the red traditionally associated with the marque.
Gran Turismo Sport on PS4 Pro employs BT2020 colour space, which allows it to reflect a wider range of colours. "Ferrari's red was a colour that was outside the colour space up until now," said Yamauchi. "With Gran Turismo Sport on Pro, the red of the Ferrari is accurately represented. All the McLaren cars, the colour is outside of the colour space that's been represented in the past."
It's immediately noticeable. colors pop all over the place and combined with PDs lighting, it looks crazy.
^^ That stuff about Ferrari red is actually pretty cool.
I finally started playing the first Danganronpa. At first it just seemed like a Zero Escape clone with Persona S-Links in place of escape rooms. But by the end of the first trial I understood why the series has the cult following it does, those scenes are really well done. And the twists in the story are pretty fun. I have no idea how many of these characters will still be alive by the end, if any. Everybody's killing everybody in here.

We're four years into the PS4 era and this thing is just hitting now. I have limited expectations that they're going to get another one out on this hardware.

By data Go To PostTo be fair, I think Sony was banking on Driveclub alternating with GT
You say that as though somebody forced them to axe that studio. I don't know the particulars of how it went down, but surely after WRC and Motorstorm those guys had enough of a pedigree to get another shot.
It's hard not to look at Sony killing them - and more egregiously ending Psygnosis, probably the greatest UK design heritage after DMA and Rare - as a cruel fit of madness.
I'm saying I think Sony expected Driveclub to do a lot better than it did and not have such a fucked dev cycle
PD is an inefficient studio imo. Even with this scaled back GT, it's not hitting until 4 years into the PS4 life cycle.
But jfc the presentation and fidelity of GT Sport is insane.

Took a break but the game is still pretty near to my heart.
It's the kind of game where if you take a break you end up getting left behind though. There's no way you can come back be as memorable about all the peak spots and best ceilings/walls to get a killhole from.
