😒

if it looks like that on vanilla then whats the point of a pro
rob is in disbelief
By blackace Go To PostLike that???Yeah. There's nothing to even do. Everything is fucked up some kind of way.
The connections aren't even the worst thing about this either. Progression is absurd, blatant pay to win, not enough game modes, balancing issues.

Just beat the story of Berseria. It was really good. Characters felt human, music was solid, combat is fun, and story had a great mix of drama and humor. Only real weak point was poor dungeon quality, imo. But I'm not sure if that was ever a strength of a Tales game.
9/10 would recommend.
I do want to emphasize that it brings the feels like few other games. Shit gets rough and depressing but always has a bit of hope left to keep you going.

Also it's way more fucked up if you played Zestiria.
I've only played the first couple hours of Zesteria. I may need to start a new file and play it. Or just read a synopsis somewhere. Lol
I think what really helps the player to become invested into the characters of Berseria is how relatable their struggles are. A sister unable to process her grief of the death of her family, a brother fueled by jealousy of how his older brother is better at their common dream, a boy who doesn't know who he is or wants to be, etc.
Strip away the anime trappings and there are some good characters here.

Speaking of Berseria, me and the roommates just helped take back the prison that Velvet was in. How far are we?
Loving the game so far. Some of these Code Red hunts don't fuck around.

By DY_nasty Go To PostEhhh almost halfway I think? Act 2 kinda has a weird pace to it. My timeline is kinda off tbh. This reminds me. One of the roommates was hogging the tv with Berseria, so the rest of us decided to play Symphonia since one of them never played it.
Jesus Christ, I was afraid of being right, and I was. That shit is archaic now, and even worse since it was obvious (even back then) that multiplayer was never given more than a glance. There's no camera options that work, omg.
By DY_nasty Go To PostYou can't go backwards with Tales games. Almost all of them age like shit.Well they all start that way to me..

One more week.
Gotta finish DQ4 and Ys Origin plat by then
I think some of the older games have way more appealing art directions than the modern ones. Specifically Abyss, Legendia and Vesperia

So apparently next week Target is having a B2G1. Pretty good timing. I'll probably get some combo of Horizon, Torment, Nier, Yakuza, or Beseria.

are you hype for that smokey--i enjoyed what i played of the first one but took a break and it's too difficult to get back into now
literally about to go and get paddles for my ps4 from gamestop and buy the infinite warfare dlc lol
thought i was gonna just swap it for another game after I beat the campaign but the game looks, controls, and feels so good at 4k and its really scratching an itch for me in terms of just "turn off your brain and slay"
no 30 minute destiny loading times or having to go back and forth to the tower for bounties--just get in and shoot shit in really cool sci fi environments

By Woodenpapangus Go To PostI'm pretty damn confident it's not actually running Horizon in native 4k. But even getting halfway there from 1080p is a big upgrade from 1080p. I know how hard a time I've had going back to 1080p just from running a few games in 2560x1440 on pc.The loudest point is, when I start up a game and the disc is spinning.
Also recently got a pro. Barely have any games for it yet, but got a few under way (bought bloodborne, uncharted 4 and world of final fantasy all used or on sale for fairly cheap). Will get the last guardian once the prices drops a bit. Was worried about the fan noise, as I have seen insane videos of the noise… But… I can barely hear it. The true struggle of the ps4 so far, is the shitty and terrible PSN store.
It stays like that for a minute and is silent after that.
My OG PS4 which my gf got now, is the same and the difference is, that the disc drive is a bit louder.
By reilo Go To PostI don't think PSY is lying, IGN has a comparison video up: http://www.ign.com/videos/2017/02/25/horizon-zero-dawn-graphics-comparison-ps4-vs-ps4-proOnce you see HDR in effect, you don't wanna go back.
The differences are very subtle afaict.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postare you hype for that smokey–i enjoyed what i played of the first one but took a break and it's too difficult to get back into nowI'm not that hyped for it but sometimes a sequel is all that's needed to correct the fukkery from a first game.

By Retro Go To PostI think some of the older games have way more appealing art directions than the modern ones. Specifically Abyss, Legendia and VesperiaI'll agree with this. I miss the charm and art direction of Vesperia. The world felt a lot more cohesive.

bruh one of the maps takes place with gargantua from interstellar in the background
the skyboxes are too gud--i can forgive a lot with these visuals
I guess I'm weird as visuals don't matter as much to me. Jaggies, excessive clipping, incoherent visual design, and animations that are completely stiff, stilted, or behave unexpectedly with collisions or player input are the only visual things that bother me.
That's probably why I can happily go back and play a game like Anachronox for the first time, nearly 20 years since its initial release.

Oh, low framerate also bothers me, but I consider that more of a feel/responsiveness thing than visual.
Watching Horizon gameplay like the QL and twitch streams

I just told my wife we needed to tighten up the budget. This is ill-timed.

Fucking consoles.
Shadow of Mordor will be got! Liked the first one enough... and if they expanded it enough with proper hubs and stuff it could be real fun
