By DY_nasty Go To PostThat's how you lose.In regards to Overwatch (and Overwatch only), Phaze and I did most of our placements together. I ended one tier above him. The matches I didn't play with him were all losses, iirc, but I just clean up as tank and healer in that game while still having a couple pocket DPS picks in case I need to switch to that role.
I wish Faze would comment instead of being benevolent and pretending he cares about 2ks next trash product. Teamwork isn't even worth leaning on until you reach a certain point of self-awareness and skill floor imo (dependent on the game of course). If you're setting your teammates up with stuff that they can't even diagnose or recognize, then its wasted mental effort on your end. The inability to understand situations means you can't even learn from failure - that's why the first and sometimes only thing I encourage people to do when they pick up any fighting game or shooter is *don't die*. Someone properly engaged with finishing ability is infinitely more valuable than a guy content to trade and bread stick until the end of a match.
One really good player will absolutely, routinely destroy coordinated teams who still don't have the skills to grasp what's being thrown at them. Even in Overwatch it's apparent and that game intentionally looks to stack the deck against that fact at every level.
I guess I've just gotten good at covering up over or fixing idiot teammate mistakes. Still, when I play healer, I try to figure out real early who is worth prioritizing over others for healing and, in rare cases, who is worth putting myself at risk to help.
I guess it also helps that I play a lot of Ana and Zenyatta who are capable of self-defense so I can usually take care of myself 1v1.
I ain't no scrub in this game: https://www.overbuff.com/players/pc/Kibner-1642

I'd love to watch a keynote by someone at rockstar to explain how they make their worlds feel alive

First boss down. Didn't care for the Manus fight in DS1, but this toned down version was cool. I'm slowly getting accustomed to the combat system. Humanoid enemies and dogs I can handle. Two of those werewolves beasties and I'm getting rekt 😔
I didn't think the RE7 environments could be outgrossed but some of the shit on the floor in Observer is real fucking gross
like just some bird skeletons hanging around on the floor

With a lot of talk about the new Sonic going around, I decided to go and finish Sonic 2. I cant help but come away thinking these games are pretty overrated. It's colourful, the art is great, the gimmicks that bounce you around are fun, but the physics have always gotten on my nerves after a while. It feels like you spend so much time fighting momentum since Sonic has the torque of a tricycle from stop. The jumping physics are just weird, they take so much control away from you. I actually died because it timed out as I bounced back and forth between two bumpers with no way out. And the level design is often cheap AF, making you run into an enemy just offscreen, or forcing you to jump up to a platform with a waiting enemy who's basically impossible to avoid.
I started off liking it, but by the end I just wanted it to be over. These games never belonged in the same tier as Super Mario World.

I finished Phantasy Star III. It was kind of the opposite of my experience with Sonic 2, in that it's a game that I ended up kinda liking in spite of its flaws. It's very much a thing unto and of itself; whether that's because as some rumours say it started out as a generic fantasy rpg that had the Phantasy Star universe bolted on to it, or because the Golden Axe team who made it just didn't know what they were doing, it ended up being pretty unique.
The setting and reveals about the world, the generations system and the way the story unfolds are kinda memorable. It's a game whose ideas were crying out for way more development, it anticipated things like that marriage system that made Fire EMblem huge. And the enemies get really weird:
In the end I can't say that I don't understand the game's critics, there's a lot about it that's undercooked (though that may just be because apparently Sega cut back on the cart size partway through development). But Japan cranks out a lot of forgettable cookie cutter jrpgs, so there's something worthwhile about one that stands out simply on the basis of its idiosyncrasy. And like I said before, in the end I found it way more playable than Phantasy Star II, the one everybody praises to the skies. I'm quite sure that if I owned this game as a kid I would have gone through to see all the endings (though the one I got felt way too brief for a game that spins a generation-spanning epic).

Observer lost me a little bit when I realized it was all walking simulator(or whatever the nicer term for those kinds of games is) and psychological horror. My favorite parts of the game are the world building like some of the conversations you have with the tenants and emails you read are really fascinating, the 'pristines' basically being antivaxxers, the class segregation, the police form and corporate symbiosis but a lot of the game is the mind fuck stuff. I knew the devs made layer of fear but I wanted to jump into this mostly blind because it seemed really cool
and it is cool and I still like it but I think someone who has more of an appreciation of those kinds of games will really like it. so far it seems like hellblade with a much more interesting setting to me. and I knew I wouldn't like Hellblade.

The habits I developed playing the Dark Souls series made getting use to Bloodborne a bit of a pain. That was, until the parry finally clicked. GG everything that can be parried. Lol
Up to the third boss (I think). The chick was praying and then turned into some wild shit and started spazzing. 😣
R.I.P. to the little girl 😢. Killed the fuck out of her dad and she goes out like that? Smh.
Why is everyone a dickhead in this game? Lol

By jjasper Go To PostSo has 2K overtaken Madden as biggest sports game in the US? It has to be close at this point.Iirc 2K has been bigger than Madden for a while. I dont have any numbers though. 2K usually stays on the charts for a while. Idk i dont watch or play football games.

Nice that this game got that kind of a reception. Final Fantasy should have probably ended with XII and gone out on a high note, TBH.
