I'm pretty damn confident it's not actually running Horizon in native 4k. But even getting halfway there from 1080p is a big upgrade from 1080p. I know how hard a time I've had going back to 1080p just from running a few games in 2560x1440 on pc.
Also recently got a pro. Barely have any games for it yet, but got a few under way (bought bloodborne, uncharted 4 and world of final fantasy all used or on sale for fairly cheap). Will get the last guardian once the prices drops a bit. Was worried about the fan noise, as I have seen insane videos of the noise... But... I can barely hear it. The true struggle of the ps4 so far, is the shitty and terrible PSN store.

By Smokey Go To PostDoesn't it have to say HDR on the input title or whatever for it to be active?
There's an actual hdr label for titles in Netflix but on ps4 it just says 4k
Most of time time yes your supposed to get the hdr message but a few apps don't. My native Netflix app doesn't but I know it's working. Infinite warfare doesn't either. Final fantasy and nba 2k give me the message.
The optics on the entire thing are really rough for casuals. For them to be marketing it this way its not at all consumer friendly.

is nintendo afraid of making money

Yep. They've got to clean this up and it's different for every manufacturer. Part of being an early adopter, I guess.
By KingGondo Go To PostAre you new to game discussion on the internet?Naw. I've been around for a long time, I outgrew this system wars nonsense.
I just play games breh.
By data Go To PostSomething about ESO is jsut really, really ugly to me.Its a really ugly game built off another really ugly game
I mean, Deadly Premonition is one of my favorite games of last gen. There's something different about ESO's ugliness.
By data Go To Post'but preorders are sold out!'I don't think Target does pre-orders on hardware. Those would be first come.
By DY_nasty Go To PostGhost Recon isn't even worth the time spent downloading. Ugly, jank, boring as hell.Controls like shit too
By Hitch Go To PostControls like shit tooI haven't thrown a demo in the bushes in decades. Shit reminded me of those demo discs for PC Gamer and PlayStation magazine on off months...

Game looks as dull as most suspected it would. Nothing I've seen resembles that debut trailer. Classic Ubi marketing.
Rainbow Six was legit, they improved The Division a lot, people like For Honor.
Ghost Recon still boggles the mind. They were doing so good and decided they needed to release a bad game or something I guess, it never looked interesting at any point of development.

Didn't know there was a new Wonder Boy remake coming out. Love the art style.

By Smokey Go To PostHope they made the combat more challenging and with more options.
First one is one of the most puzzling games to me. Never understood how that thing could get that popular... I guess it was a dry period for games. Because jesus christ. Not that it was terrible, but it was just so fucking boring and forgettable.
wasnt even an early days thing. people are excited for the sequel when WB puts out trash
how u gonna get hyped about a game from the publisher that put out Shadows of Mordor and Batman Arkham Knight

Nemesis system was fun but it got annoying when I fought the same guy over and over again even after cutting his head off.
By RobNBanks Go To PostRainbow Six was legit, they improved The Division a lot, people like For Honor.Rainbow Six was propped up by a decades old community that saw the last title killed in development. Ubisoft simply couldn't afford to let such a strong IP take another big hit.

The Division had potential, but because of their shit earnings priorities improving that game didn't become a thing that they could even attain until months after release. The main unique attraction of it died days after it came out the box. For Honor is looking just like it wants to do the same thing too. Blatant pay to win microtransactions ruining the game? That shit ain't going anywhere until 60 days of running everyone's pockets lol.
AK was garbage.
Kids grow up dressing as Batman for Halloween and grow up wanting to be Batman. There's no kid on this planet that grew up wishing they could be the Batmobile when they grew up

By RobNBanks Go To Postpeople actually watch teen react videos? The 5-11 demo does.
They're people too.
By RobNBanks Go To Postyeah..noPro gives you 4k + HDR, 100% locked framerate etc.
if it looks like that on vanilla then whats the point of a pro
As far as effects, foilage, lighting, its 1:1.
The game is ridiculous. I've not noticed a drop during fights, there's no aliasing, very limited pop in, good loading times. Its crazy.
I don't think PSY is lying, IGN has a comparison video up: http://www.ign.com/videos/2017/02/25/horizon-zero-dawn-graphics-comparison-ps4-vs-ps4-pro
The differences are very subtle afaict.

Hah. Thinking it's not all about that adult male demographic.

Well it's hard to analyse image quality, in a video like that.... But it still looks like there is far less jaggies/dithering in the environment. Supersampling is always nice, but hard to see in a recorded video.
