By Kibner Go To PostYeah, ProAm and Park are where I play since I like controlling only a single player that I create and customize.
I'm no stranger to latency in games but it just feels fucking awful in those modes. Like, a full half-second or longer delay before my guy starts the animation for my input. It's insane.

Nintendo announced that the SNES Classic will be available for preorder from various retailers in late August.
That tweet made me look up actual majors, wtf is up with Valve? Dota went from 4 to 3 a year. CSGO went from 3 a year to 2 a year.
Even more hilarious is Valve created this image
edit - img not working, didn't even realize and I'm on mobile right now so fuck it
Yet one year after that announcement, they completely disregarded it.

ProAm was generally aite for me--park was always shit. quickplay is good.
its embarrassing how few players have any shame in 2k quickplay. Like...can I ever NOT go against the Cavs or Warriors?
And why the fuck are my wizards in the same tier as the fucking warriors anyway?

reducing pyre to a visual novel does it a disservice. there is really nothing i can remember that blends presentation and the core gameplay together in such a cogent way. supergiant games always ooze style, but pyre is an achievement in taking the player choice to such an interesting place. it's game design that other developers who pride themselves on immersive gameplay can take note of when crafting their own stories.
this game might just nudge breath of the wild out of its (rightful - and before now - guaranteed) top spot.

gameplay works for me. especially once the suite of options opens up - it's really compelling. I can see how people would lose interest after the first few rites though.
pyre is definitely a game that shares more dna with transistor than it does bastion, gameplay wise. i only see the nba jam comparison in a shallow, 3v3 setup sort of way.

By livefromkyoto Go To PostI finally went back and finished off the last boss of P3P. Holy crap that was long. From the last save point to the end of the credits took 3 hours.
That ending still GOAT

I was cleaning some things and I happened to stumble on a wonderful box...
Still works after all this years. Let's see if I can beat Revenge Of The Shinobi.

What a time. I remember getting my Megadrive with that 3 game cart that had Revenge of Shinobi, Streets of Rage and Golden Axe. Legendary pickup.
I used to play Revenge with starting shurikens at 0 and avoided the pickups as much as possible, using melee for the entire game. Even better to do that in Shinobi 3

Forgot how much the waterfall level is fucking annoying with all those jumps.
I'll get back to it, playing Hyperstone Heist now.

Valve came in and did 3 majors + TI. a tournament every 3 months basically.
Then people complained that there was no off season and there were too many majors, couldn't run other tournaments. So they ran 2 majors + TI this year.
People complained there are no 3rd party tournaments, the only tournaments people care about are The Majors / TI. So 3rd partys are struggling to even get sponsors because no one watches them.
So Valve said, fuck it, all the 3rd partys can run either a Major or a Minor (there are rule changes / prize pool restrictions that define what is what). Each tournament will be worth x amount of points. Distributed the same way every tournament. And the teams with the most points from through out the year will comprise next years TI Field.
I'm sure people will find something to complain about with all of that, too.
Smh. It's dumb but I guess at least thats Valve listening.
That's not what happened in CS though so I wonder why they changed that. If anything it's the opposite, people feel there aren't enough majors and too many third party events.

It should also give regions that don't have enough local competition (South American countries and Korea, for example) a way to compete regularly against quality teams.

It could very well all go to shit, but there is hope, at least.
By KingGondo Go To PostAm I gonna need it?probably, i don't have access to those numbers but here it's only slightly better than last time, overall even worse bc. demand is higher.
Ball is going to be useless in the 2k world. He might be a Gold Dimer or something but in the grand scheme of a 2k match, that doesn't mean shit. His defensive attributes should be bad and he can't shoot. How tf is he a 80, no logical reason outside of marketing.

I've been playing Genesis games all year on Vita via the PSP collection. Knee-deep in Phantasy Star III, Shadow Dancer, Shinobi III & Golden Axe III right now. Shinobi III is the best one, Revenge is the one everybody remembers because they all owned it on one of those multi-carts or collections, but Shadow Dancer is the forgotten one that represents the best iteration on the original formula imo.
I love shadow dancer, my dad had it cycled in one of the cabs at his shop when i was a lad. Never played a MD version of it.
been trying to finally play though all of the classic sonics in anticipation of Sonic Mania, already finished 1 and 2.
Apart from the lack of continues these games have aged beautifully.

It actually came out for a ton of stuff, mostly terrible Euro computers and a surprisingly competent Master System version. The MD version is totally different from all the others, with unique levels and abilities and is imo the best version of the game.

Hmm. Sorta.
It's about giving the tier 1.5/2 teams more media exposure. More screen time. So that sponsors can see the value in sponsoring the teams.
As it currently is, the top tier 1 teams are really only playing 5? 6? Tourneys a year. Which means that all the other tournaments are seen as "lesser", draw smaller crowds, and the sponsors don't see the value in it.
Giving those teams more tournaments to compete in, and as a result, more chances at earning prize money. Not the large booties you see in the current Majors. But it should be spread around more evenly than the very top heavy structure at the moment.
Korea is part of SEA, they have plenty of exposure already. To grow the scene there they need to run a huge media blitz to try and break LoL's stranglehold. But with Overwatch taking off pretty strongly... I think it's safe to say that Dota has missed the boat in korea.

downloaded Just Cause 3. Not even 10 minutes into the game, hop in a tank and the FPS tanked to a max 15 fps wtf
I finished Evil Within. It was an ok experience. Overall, it was a positive and more than anything left me more hyped for TEW 2 than anything else seeing it get a generation jump will be nice.
