Not that their solution isn't shitty, but who else has solved that one? The only thing I can think of was the 3G Vita, which tanked. Nobody's getting a second cellular contract for their gaming system.

Honestly, I don't think there was even an issue that needed solving. If you're not on a wifi connection, tough shit, you're not playing or talking online. If you are, integrated party/in-game chat.

But there's also all the issues with app itself that are in that arstechnica article that make voice chat an absolute ball-ache when playing at home, let alone on the move.

Yeah, game is a mess right now but I think the servers stabilized.
The game has this weird sense of depth to it and the crafting shit is piss easy. Quick crafting ammo is a godesend for this game

So, Fortnite is very solid for how 'early' access the game is right now. Crafting mechanics are simple enough to encourage doing wild shit with building forts, but I can see resource grinding is going to be a real test of patience for the higher-leveled weapon schematics.
Gunplay feels really solid. The class abilities are probably going to make/break what works 'best' for the game. (Outlanders are good with scavenging + Constructors for building. Gonna be impenetrable.)
