Killzone worth picking up for ~$7? I have a lot of fondness for 2 and 3.
I liked 2 a lot. I thought 3 was meh and thought Shadowfall was meh too. I got it at launch because it was something pretty for my new system to run and it scratched that itch. It's not awful, but it's not really good either.
$7 can't even get you a beer at a sporting event though. Relatively speaking, I got a lot more enjoyment out of that game than a single shitty domestic beer.

I had a decent time with it mainly for the multiplayer. The single player...sure, it's $7 worth of entertainment. Honestly though, there are so many other cheap games on the system that you'd be better off putting the time into.
By s y Go To PostCouldn't force myself through Killzone 2. Awful stuff. If you liked 2 and 3 then I'm sure Shadowfall is up your alley. Not at all
Plenty of people who liked 2 didn't like 3, and liked SF even less
As someone who liked 2 (and never played 3) At launch I personally thought Knack was better than ShadowFall. (Resogun is better than both)
I actually don't think there is an exclusive FPS on the console worth owning.

Yeah I quite enjoyed KZ2 singleplayer at least, but 3 was just... So fucking meh.
Never tried Shadowfall, but by all accounts, it seems worse.

By jjasper Go To PostI actually don't think there is an exclusive FPS on the console worth owning.Sony has never had a good fps. Wish they would try to bring back SOCOM. Siege shows there's a demand for that tactical play style. Is it going to get you CoD money, no, but it's better than nothing

Resistance was great fun.
Resistance 2's coop was.....ok I guess. I don't really remember much apart from the hours and hours I poured I played to Platinum that game.
Speaking of older Insomniac games, they sure have made some stinkers. Happened upon a video of Overstrike(which turned into Fuse) and boy did they fuck that up.

That guy's pretty hilarious. He's the biggest personality in the Tekken scene, commentates matches, was doing training videos back when the series wasn't cool, etc.

"That's not tournament legal!"
Just finished Rime.
The ending was really nice, if a bit abrupt, in no small part thanks to the excellent music. Overall it's a mixed bag. It starts off a little bland and takes too long coming into its own, which it never fully does. Some nice touches here and there, like the ball-head walkers, but the feeling of it being a lesser amalgamate of Ico + TLG never goes away. Also, the puzzles are just too easy & straightforward. Still, a solid in-between game.

I hate doing it
I'm thinking of buying the DMC reboot on PS4. Game was pretty decent from what I heard despite the complaints it got during its development (mainly art direction of characters)

Copped Nioh, Horizon, and UC4 off the PSN sale. Probably punt my save in Horizon and UC4 and start over, not like I was that far anyway. Look at all my hatred for Sony.

As far as I can tell, however, there’s been no official explanation since Xenogears was released 19 years ago. So while interviewing Takahashi during E3 in Los Angeles today about his new game, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (more on that soon), I had to slip in a question about that urban legend. Xenogears is one of my favorite games, I said, but what happened to that second disc?http://kotaku.com/the-real-story-behind-xenogears-unfinished-disc-2-1796151112
“Honestly speaking, what had happened is Xenogears as a project was staffed pretty much entirely out of new staff members, young staff members,” said Takahashi, speaking through a translator. “Back then, we had the direction of, ‘All projects take two years and that’s when we need to get it done.’ So on top of developing the game, we had to nurture and teach and grow these younger employees. Things like 3D were extremely new, which led to some delays in the schedule. It just wasn’t possible to get everything done.”
As it became clear that Takahashi and team weren’t going to hit their deadlines, Square’s higher-ups suggested that they just end the game after the first disc, when Fei and his team escape from Solaris.
I really regret not getting Tekken 7 on PC.
The PC port is SO much better than the consoles and it actually looks better than the arcade game

FF XIV: Stormblood is up for early access right now. I'm actually pretty excited to try PvP in that game for the first time since they just changed a lot about how it works. A poster from another forum explains:
Basically, PvP is a different mode entirely than PvE. You don't even use the same classes so it is balanced and designed completely separately from PvE. And it is now (almost) purely about player skill instead of who has been playing it the longest.
The revamp is incredibly different. Almost all of the RNG in the combat system has been removed with the notable exception of damage variance. Players have static stats, DPS sit at 10k health, with Healers at 12.5k and Tanks at 15k. Kits have been massively truncated to where classes only have about a dozen abilities total. Most importantly, the whole system where PvP Rank dictated relative player power through ability upgrades is completely gone. Everyone is absolutely equal.

I start up UC4 and like I said yesterday, was going to completely start over. I see I left off on chapter 6. Ok, let's see where I'm at I say.
Oh I'm in some cellar crawling around moving wine barrels to climb through a vent, while Sam is talking about god knows what.
