By Smokey Go To PostIf the EXACT same game as Horizon was released on Xbox but with say, a bald male, the game would get shit on. Think I'm lying. The hate ouchea for MS and Xbox is real brehsI wouldn't say you're lying because it can't be disproved, but you're chatting shit at least.
By WoodenPapangu Go To PostThey really are. One is typical Insomniac games trash. The kind of run of the mill trash, that fanboys will hype up.
God of War is just bad and boring. Hopefully the new one can actually do something different (as in be good).

By Hitch Go To PostWhen Sony put out an underwhelming game, people don't pretend they're brilliant. See UC3, GoW:A, Infamous:SS, Killzone:SF, Knack, GT5 (to an extent)
I don't believe it
Nikkas hype up UC4, your post is invalid
By GQman2121 Go To PostListening to the Bombcast right now and Jeff just mentioned that EA is going to have another NBA Live at e3.Because they want to get another Ultimate Team cash cow going.
Why do they do this to themselves?
I listened to the Easy Allies cast yesterday and there doesn't really sound like a lot to be excited about thus far this year.
Most looking forward to what MS has planned with their hardware; Sony's first party titles; and Mario I guess. But that's literally it.
Barely anything is know about this years conferences. You got all those titles that everyone expects, but apart from those we barely had any leaks. Only Ubisoft continues to leak their stuff once again.

By reilo Go To PostIs Rodeo hating, too? Cause he sure af isn't disagreeing with me (afaict) and he still believes in MS.My love of Microsoft and Xbox does come from loving their games, at least. The amount of multiplayer Halo I've played in my life is probably counted in months. I even still think their Xbox One output is good, what little they do release: Sunset Overdrive, Halo 5, Gears 4, Halo Wars 2, Ori, Forza related things.
Besides, let's be real here, your love for MS only exists because of the Elite controller and not because you actually like (or play) their games.
But having these studios set up to exclusively do one thing not quite as well as the people that used to (The Coalition, 343) is a killer. Having Turn 10 only make Forza is a killer. There's no reason those studios can't have two teams when they employ people numbering in the hundreds and hundreds. Rare has two teams, but I don't think I'm interested in what they're offering if it really is Battletoads. There's no reason to have lots of really good IP just completely dormant (Project Gotham, Perfect Dark, Viva Pinata, Crimson Skies, Mech Assault, Lost Odyssey, I don't know, man, take your pick). They need lineup diversity they haven't had in like 10 years.
I really wanted to be excited about Scorpio, but I don't really see much for me there if the selling points are Crackdown, State of Decay, Sea of Thieves and better looking versions of games I've already played. (Halo 5 at 4K does not excite, I'm sorry, Phil.)

would love to just have a convo with phil in a bar sometime
there's just gotta be tons of red tape--only explanation really
I think Halo 5 is a great playing game. 343 still has no idea how to tell a story. There are things fundamentally wrong with both Halo 4 and 5 campaigns that suggest to me they don't know how to fix it, either. For instance, they rely so heavily on extended universe storytelling, that I play these games and have no idea what the fuck is happening because I haven't read the last three novels they put out. Who was the Didact? I still don't know.
In that regard, no I don't think they could pull off something like ODST.

I never thought I would see Slizz so excited.Only seen you this excited for some bikini shots of some random actress/model or whatever. You must be getting seizures when you see female wrestlers.

By Smokey Go To PostI've said the same thing in a different way plenty of times.Nah lol. You're still stanning the Xbox brand like it was the 360 pre-Kinect era posting pictures of a CPU and such lol. Those 3 years they had were such an anomaly in the brand's lifecycle.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostODST might be the only Halo that kept me interested to play the campaign until the end.ODST is the only game I've gotten 1000/1000 achievement points in. It's the total package: firefight was a ton of fun, the single player was totally different than a usual Halo campaign in a good way, the music was smooth and atmospheric. Wonderful game.
By DY_nasty Go To PostI would give anything to see someone pry Metroid away from Nintendoeven Ubisoft?
That Red Dead 2 delay really fucked Scorpio didn't it?
I mean, MS are still going to tote most of the heavy hitting third parties near their launch as the best place to play. But RDR2 was likely the only system seller despite Sony have the marketing deal in place. No one is going to drop upwards of five bills for 2k, CoD or Destiny when their friends are playing on PS4. Red Dead has the campaign and visuals that I could see someone like Smokey diving in to have the optimal experience on. Now that's gone.

Especially before I had my first LCD and I was forced to carry that massive CRT monitor.QC is the only one I go to. It's like a three or four day LAN with over 3,000 other people. Very fun, especially when a game like Rocket League comes out. You would random hear people chanting the Ole song and knew exactly what was going on. It was often accompanied with lots of anguished shouts and insults from the losers.
I guess one final Xbox point: I get that Phil took over a bad situation and has had to do a lot of work fixing the mess of the launch and the messaging, but at some point, it has to be about the games you're making and not just hearts and minds. Backwards compatibility is really cool and adds a ton of value to the console, that Phantom Dust remaster is neat, Games with Gold, Xbox Game Pass, like all that stuff, I get it.
What are doing to put new games on the box, though? Don't tell me about your productive trip to Japan when no Japanese publisher touches your console except Capcom. Don't tell me you're totally invested in first party when when you have like five studios in house.
If all you have to show for your powerful new Xbox is what we already know, what was the point?

i mean its gotta be upper management right? You don't just let every marketing deal fall through the roof and do nothing in terms of new IP flat out on purpose. Gotta imagine there's some limiting red tape involved. I do think a lot of it was Mattrick, but not even getting a deal with Bungie done for Destiny is really weird. Same with letting CoD go blue.
By reilo Go To PostAre we sure Satya Nadella even gives a fuck about the Xbox brand?
let your best developer make a new IP and don't even get any kind of DLC exclusivity
then go through all the hard work for putting a team together just for them to try to copy what the other team was able to put together
have this kind of happen twice with the coalition, though epic didn't really go on to do other things, MS still just kinda sat back and watched it happen
I'm not saying Nadella has anything to do with it...I'm just saying the mismanagement is...immense. To the point of having to just be a tank job.
I don't think it's on Nadella, but at least we could say that Ballmer genuinely cared about the Xbox brand and pouring resources into it. MS has a money-maker in XBL, but if that didn't keep it afloat, would it be on the chopping block? The lack of studios and new-IP development and shuttering of once prominent studios while severing ties with the likes of Epic feels like an austerity move, and maybe that's the mandate from the top-down.
By reilo Go To PostNah lol. You're still stanning the Xbox brand like it was the 360 pre-Kinect era posting pictures of a CPU and such lol. Those 3 years they had were such an anomaly in the brand's lifecycle.
