This reminds me that Kenny Omega is in this week's excellent adventures with gootecks and Mike.

'PS2' Fire Pro Wrestling Returns rvy. It'll satiate you for a little so you won't wanna buy the new one immediately.
And of course one of my few gaming posts about a game winds up as the last post on a fucking page.

By Slizz Go To PostCross post from Footy thread, cause this game Fire Pro Wrestling has me so hooked like that ya'll need to hear about it too.I want this so bad but none of my friends play on PC and I doubt many PC gamers are lining up to buy a FPW game.
More gifs:
It's basically a super in-depth/realistic timing based wrestling game. Create-a-Player is next level as you can see because none of my .gifs are players 'included' in the game. The new version Fire Pro World will have 80 new moves(the library for moves on this game is already stacked) and a bunch of new additions, UFC cage matches, electrified ring ropes, intergender matches, abuses to referees… A ton of shit.
By RobNBanks Go To PostI want this so bad but none of my friends play on PC and I doubt many PC gamers are lining up to buy a FPW game.I just found out about this game like 2 weeks ago and loving it. I'm playing FPWR on PS2 in the .gifs.
With the amount of customization and huge community seemingly still doing customization to this day for it, it might have the legs on PC.
Brock Lesnar vs. Kobashi? Amazing dream matchup
Spike made a much better wrestling game but never followed it up sadly
Imported a JP PS2 just to play it

I guess one way of dealing with the competitive imbalance of Deadshot is adding another one.
(I kind of like Red Hood as a character though. He's the asshole Batman will never let himself loose and be).

I don't own this game so I don't know, but he seems like he has way more projectile spam going for him than Bats.

By data Go To Postyou're boy who cried wolf with injusticeits a trash fighting game. i'm not gonna sit here and pretend otherwise. shit'll die early just like the last MK/DC titles. title was set up to sell to ppl who like throwing money at comic book stuff... can't hate on that. they need to just make a Injustice/Shaolin Monks brawler and stop bullshitting. Netherealm simply can't make a good fighting game. They haven't in decades
people cry about deadshot, but the entire neutral game is built on crap foundation - so it doesn't matter how much you nerf what or buff something else, the distance you cover, the way armor works, and the way hits lineup there's literally always going to be something wrong with the game. I'll go to my neighbor's house and whoop their kid's asses all day with Ivy or whatever, but I'm not one to parrot sales as an indicator of quality. If you want to grind 4 different kinds of currency for Supergirl leggings do you tho.

Been on a Halo 5 MP kick for the past 3 days or so.
Game is good. Content overload.
Scorpio version can't get here fast enough to clean up these visuals tho.

That was my impression too at first, kind in a Tekken 6.5 range visually, but the game plays like butter.

I just love how even with the shitty bit look to the game all the moves look almost exactly like they do in real life.
The fact that you can't button mash in this fighting game also makes me love it. If you button mash it cancels your first move and your opponent will counter. On top of that the matches last a good long while and you actually have to press a button to breathe otherwise your fighter will get fatigued and stay on the mat longer and longer regardless of damage done.

Has there ever been a serious fighting game that ran higher?
By livefromkyoto Go To PostHas there ever been a serious fighting game that ran higher? It would have to be pc only.
By Kibner Go To PostIt would have to be pc only.
And 3D. And either run at an unlocked frame rate (not for this genre) or have higher settings. If anything's ever run above 60, it's got to be a pretty short list. Gameplay-wise I'm not even sure it matters, even the number of people who can make reactions based on 1/60th of a second is pretty small. I sure can't. Stupid Virtua Fighter :(

Because the console ports aren't as good as the arcade boards.
The arcade release is really pretty in person when it released
Skullgirls mobile controls pretty decent for a phone version of a marvel type of game. Typical gacha trappings (pull for characters, energy system, daily missions, etc..), but it's not egregious about reminding you to break out your wallet. Skill seems to be able to take you pretty far. I don't know where the wall is though. Shame about no real PvP.
Dunno if I'll stick with it. I'm already playing 3 of these things.

Tekken is an example of why 60 fps is industry standard (but folks are willing to settle for less).
There's actually a meta/pro-level game mechanic where you can execute very powerful moves by entering in commands within +/- ~10 frames.
For those that don't know, it's called a just frame. I remember playing Tekken 5 in college, and this dude who practices for tournaments would bring out his sticks to do nothing but EWGFs as a straight combo.
This would not be possible at 30 fps.

It took me until 3 in the morning, but I beat Circle of the Moon. That was easily one of the most asshole Draculas in a long-running series full of asshole Draculas. Overall the game is great though, I really like the Symphony of the Night formula but based around the classic whip gameplay.
By Phoenix RISING Go To PostTekken is an example of why 60 fps is industry standard (but folks are willing to settle for less).fighting games universally gotta work at a different standard than everything else. people can trip about lag or slowdowns or hit registry in shooters, but fighting games have their players literally counting frames

just can't have those kinds of issues in fighting games.

Have you played the other handheld CV titles?
fighting games need to be locked 60 fps, every millisecond counts.
older KOF and SF games had links which relied on input within 1 or 2 frames. 10 frames is a pretty wide window.

Castlevania Adventure - Yes
Castlevania Adventure II - Yes
Harmony of Dissonance - No
Aria of Sorrow - Yes
Dawn of Sorrow - Yes
Portrait of Ruin - No
Dracula X Chronicles - Yes
Order of Ecclesia - No
Mirror of Fate (3DS) - No
Of the ones I've played I've finished them all except Dracula X Chronicles - I'm at Dracula, I just need to summon the willpower to go at it until I've beat him - and Dawn of Sorrow which just got balls-out hard at a certain point. I'd consider Dracula X Chronicles & Aria of Sorrow to be the best. It's a shame the DS ones never made it to Virtual Console.
By Kibner Go To PostVirtua Fighter 4 has a character with a move that has a literal one frame window. Lol
That's Akira's lance - that's actually consistent throughout the whole series (maybe not 1). You have no idea how much time I spent trying to nail that, I could never do it consistently. There are actually several other moves in the series that have the same 1 frame inputs. I'm not sure why VF doesn't get more respect in the West, it's got the highest execution barrier of anything I can think of. The stuff tourney players can do is borderline superhuman to me.
Do we have a buy/sell thread?

It's one step below Partner and you can start earning if you're apart of it. http://affiliate.twitch.tv/
I've got 104 followers. I'm pretty sure I could easily hit the other requirements within a week or so.
