WTF?
Former NFL wide receiver Michael Jackson died in a motorcycle accident Friday in his hometown of Tangipahoa, Louisiana, according to police.
Jackson, who played for the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, was 48.
Jackson's motorcycle was traveling "at a high rate of speed" around 1 a.m. Friday when it crashed into a car that was backing out of a parking space and into both lanes of the highway, police said.
Jackson struck the driver's side door, and both Jackson and the driver were killed, according to police.

Michael Floyd's agent confirmed a TMZ report that he tested positive for alcohol earlier this week. What a dumbass.
Floyd failed multiple BAC tests after allegedly drinking Kombucha teas. He was only five days away from completing his home arrest, but could now be headed back to jail. Floyd's next step is to appear in court on June 26 to explain the situation. Regardless of the outcome, his Vikings future is in jeopardy.

NFL suspended Vikings WR Michael Floyd four games for violating the league's substance abuse policy.Again, what a fucking dumbass.
Floyd was arrested for DUI in December and tested positive for alcohol during his house arrest, violating the terms of his sentence. He claimed the positive test was triggered by Kombucha tea, an excuse met with plenty of skepticism. Floyd was awful last year, hauling in just 33-of-71 targets over 13 games for New England and Arizona. Already on thin ice with his new team, Floyd's four-game ban gives the Vikings a ready-made excuse to move on from the troubled 27-year-old.
Dallas PD released a statement saying they are investigating an alleged assault stemming from a Sunday night altercation in which Ezekiel Elliott was reportedly involved.Oh boy...
The statement did not mention Elliott or anyone else as a suspect, and the alleged victim does not know who assaulted him. The incident did take place at the same bar Elliott was reported to have had an altercation, however. Already expected to hand down a short suspension for Elliott stemming from domestic violence allegations last summer, an NFL spokesperson said the league is "aware of" this situation "and looking into it to understand the facts."
TMZ Sports reports a witness saw Ezekiel Elliott punch a man at a Dallas-area bar Sunday night.
A video shows the victim laying on the ground after the incident, but there is no video of the actual altercation. The victim suffered a broken nose. Despite a witness identifying Elliott as the assailant, police did not make any arrests because of a lack of information and the fact the witness appeared to be intoxicated. Police also did not speak with Elliott because he was gone by the time they arrived. No charges have been filed at this time.

Williams, currently a free agent, had recently told ESPN's Adam Schefter that there were four teams he would not consider playing for – the Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns and the Panthers. Carolina apparently is now an option again in Williams' mind with Gettleman's firing.Yo alot of former Panthers went in on him lol
The Panthers were 40-23-1 under Gettleman's leadership, making the playoffs each season from 2013 to 2015, with the general manager being instrumental in the Panthers' going 15-1 and reaching the Super Bowl during the 2015 season. But Carolina took a step back last season, going 6-10 and finishing last in the NFC South.

According to Mike Kaye of First Coast News, Jaguars DE Dante Fowler has at least 10 traffic tickets dating back to December 2015.
Since it was revealed he was arrested on Tuesday night for hitting a man, knocking off his glasses, stomping on the glasses, and taking the man's groceries and throwing them into a lake at an apartment complex all because the man criticized Fowler's driving, Kaye decided to dig into local court records. They revealed Fowler was once cited for driving 98 MPH in a 55 zone and another citation was for careless driving, causing $1,500 in property damage. Fowler could be subject to a suspension following his recent battery and criminal mischief charges.

All charges stemming from ex-Cowboys WR/KR Lucky Whitehead's petty larceny case have been dropped.get fucked Cowboys.
This is going to be a bad look for the Cowboys, who immediately cut Whitehead when news of the (false) accusation broke. The warrant for Whitehead's arrest was "rescinded" when Virginia police discovered they "had the wrong guy." Whitehead was a largely-ineffective gadget player/special teamer, anyway, but you can be sure the media is going to let the Cowboys have it, particularly in light of their unflinching stance that Ezekiel Elliott is innocent of multiple far-more-sinister alleged crimes.

Ravens OL John Urschel announced his retirement after three seasons in the NFL.So sad, dude is a genius but I'm happy he finds peace with the decision.
Only 26 and slated to compete for a starting job, this decision comes as a surprise, and it is likely not a coincidence the announcement comes two days after a scary study about the prevalence of CTE in NFL players was released. A doctoral candidate in mathematics at MIT, Urschel has a bright future off the football field. With Urschel out of the running, Ryan Jensen is the favorite to take over at center.

Ignore the fact that no one is signing him because they don't want the PR headache (from multiple angles) but that's honestly likely the reason.
People (see: idiots) care more about what the appearance of standing for a song represents than any one of woman/human/civil/constitutional rights. It's that simple.
That blogger can make lite of everything he wants but it really isn't that complicated.
No one is going to invite the type of coverage that Kaep brings heading into a new season.
It also doesn't matter what Flacco has done on the field in the past. Any numbers - as marginal as they are - are irrelevant. He's the franchises quarterback. That's just how it goes and everyone knows that. They're not looking for a QB competition or to have anyone second guessing things if the team is 2-6 before Thanksgiving.
It would be great to sign Kaep but it's not going to happen with Flacco healthy for week one. Not in Baltimore. His best bet is joining a club after the season starts or someone gets injured.

Furthermore, NFL owners determine when to care about what fans think. When Ray Rice punched his wife, this very franchise stuck with him for as long as they could. They ignored the backlash and brought Rice into training camp. When Giants kicker Josh Brown beat his wife, the Giants gave him a contract extension and let him play five games after suspension. Brown was a kicker. A kicker! There wasn’t even a football argument to keep him.
NFL owners chose to give credence to fan complaints when it aligns with their own sensibilities.
If you write to them about how ticket prices are too high, they’re not going to pay attention. If you think the seats in the stadium should be wider, they won’t take your input. If Giants owner John Mara gets two million complaints about Eli Manning’s offseason merchandise scandal with people threatening to boycott the team, he’ll just ignore them. He knows that fans won’t follow through on that threat just like Steve Bisciotti knows fans won’t stop watching the Ravens if Kaepernick is on the team.
Yet Bisciotti and Harbaugh will leap into “distraction” mode.
“Distraction” is the term NFL coaches and executives use when they don’t want to explain themselves. The idea is that signing Kaepernick would lead to an increase in media coverage, that media coverage would then lead to players and coaches being asked about Kaepernick instead of being asked about football. (Let’s stop here for a second. The cliche-reliant, question-avoiding players and coaches of the NFL *want* to talk about football? Since when?)
The idea that NFL teams get more distracted based on who is on the roster is not based in any evidence. Every single team in the league gets huge media coverage. Every single team in the league requires its players and coaches to spend time with the media.

Dui's, beating women, general shittiness doesn't matter if you're contributing to wins.
There's also the visual aspect of this situation for these retards.
Rice wasn't cut from Baltimore until the video in the elevator went public. The club acted like they hadn't seen the video until it was made public which we know is bullshit because all it took was TMZ to make a phone call and cut a check. Regardless, the public didn't care until they saw what happened and that's when he was cut effectively ending his professional football career.
Kaep took a knee for sixteen weeks straight on a poor team that was making headlines for all the wrong reasons. This is in the public's face week after, week after, week and he's saying exactly the wrong things after every game. And by wrong things I mean the wrong things to convince these clearly shitty, shitty human beings that he's doing something wrong.
I don't blame the owners at all. They know their product and they know their consumers are red, white and blue, deep fried, lite beer consuming trash people from sea to shining sea.
Kaep's time will come and it'll come when there's a market desperate enough for wins and is prepared to deal with the questions involved with signing someone so polarizing. The easiest way to convince people that he's worth their attention is losses on the field. That's not going to happened during the preseason.
The thing is... Kaepernick was a Superbowl QB 2 years ago. The team around him was utter dogshit in SFG and he STILL put up halfway decent numbers despite the coach not liking him.
And now there is a rally planned for him as part of a bigger social movement.

Owners colluding to keep him out of a job?
What the fuck is that guy talking about? It's really not that deep.
But.. all the evidence points to some sort of collusion. Colin Kaepernick isn't even getting meetings with teams, Seahawks are thew only team to bring him in. Practice squad fodder and CFL never-was guys are getting contracts over him. You tell me what has he done that he's "not worth the attention"? This perception that he's a negative player is mind-boggling.
Insult the author all you want but that message hits home. Again, the issue to me is not that he isn't signed. The issue is no one is even inviting him to facilities. For all the talk about him "not wanting backup money", how would owner knwo when they aren't even talking to him? Starting QBs don't suddenly find themselves out of work unless they're hurt or suspended, most manage to latch onto some understudy role or become training camp guys. Kaep is getting locked out and it's obvious, the only negatives attached to this is the national negative attention the NFL is getting for ignoring the situation.
I keep saying this, but lost in this whole thing is people are ignoring the message that Kaep was bringing awareness to and protesting against - the overwhelming killing of black men in this country by police and the lack of repercussions - and just slamming Kaep for protesting.
"First the “NFL experts,” in full disinformation mode, said that he was unsigned because he wasn’t good enough. Then they said he wanted too much money. Then they expressed worry that he was not in good enough shape because he is a vegan. Then they said that the starting jobs are all filled up, and he might just be too good to be a backup. As a long line of sub-par quarterbacks were signed—including some who had been retired, were selling real estate, had thrown for negative yards in college, threw more interceptions in a game last season than Kaepernick tossed all year, or were best known for being part of NFL blooper-reels—a quarterback who threw for 16 touchdowns and 4 picks last season, and who took the San Francisco 49ers within one play of winning the Super Bowl in 2012, still finds himself out of work."

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20302469/ezekiel-elliott-dallas-cowboys-suspended-six-games
NFL suspended Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott six games for violating the league's personal conduct policy.
It's the standard benchmark for domestic violence infractions. Elliott has three days to file an appeal, which will likely happen, and then the league would have 10 days to schedule an appeal hearing. This thing could go a number of different directions, and it's possible it may drag on for months. Elliott would be able to play during the appeal process. For now, we simply have to take the stance that he's going to be out for the Cowboys' first six games, which would have him returning Week 8 (Dallas' bye is Week 6) against the Redskins. In his absence, Darren McFadden stands to be the biggest beneficiary and needs to be drafted in the early double-digit rounds of fantasy leagues at latest. Elliott will essentially be available for half the fantasy season. He needs to be significantly knocked down draft boards, likely into the third- to fourth-round range.

https://sports.yahoo.com/source-nfls-lead-investigator-ezekiel-elliott-case-produced-internal-memo-casting-doubt-accuser-051749008.html
A lead investigator in the NFL’s domestic-violence probe of Dallas Cowboys star Ezekiel Elliott produced an internal memo in which she laid out inconsistent statements and credibility concerns regarding Elliott’s accuser Tiffany Thompson, a league source told Yahoo Sports.
That memo, produced by league director of investigations Kia Wright Roberts following her interviews with Thompson, became a significant battleground in Elliott’s appeal of a six-game suspension this week in New York. Testimony from Roberts and NFL senior vice president of investigations Lisa Friel produced key material that will ultimately be weighed by arbitrator Harold Henderson, the source said. Among that material, according to the league source:
• Roberts testified that she was the only NFL investigator to conduct a handful of interviews with Thompson and subsequently raised concerns about those interviews in a memo titled “Tiffany Thompson Inconsistency Transcripts.” Following the production of that internal memo, she recommended no suspension for Elliott.
• Roberts further testified that she wasn’t asked to attend a meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, when Friel met with Goodell and NFL executives to discuss the findings against Elliott. It was at this meeting – with Roberts not in attendance – that Friel recommended a six-game suspension of Elliott. This piece of Roberts’ testimony was also reported by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Thursday night.
• Friel testified that she had indeed been made aware of Roberts’ concerns regarding Thompson, including the memo Roberts produced outlining inconsistencies in interviews. She also testified that Roberts was not asked to attend the meeting with Goodell in which Friel recommended the suspension.
Asked if the testimony of Roberts weakened the NFL’s case against Elliott, the league source said: “It speaks for itself.”
