And none of you stopped me.
Thanks a lot, Slaent.

It has its ups and downs, but I really like it. Don't be afraid to drop it if you don't like it or it makes you depressed, though.
Marathoned the show because why the fuck not - this season sucks.
After that ending I had to know more.
No I didn't.

No I didn't.
The original anime run had me furious with the crazy fucked up cliffhanger. I haven't had a desire to catch on the remakes.
Yeah I watched the OG version. None of the movies or the recent series....
Still. I'd probably be better off with a handful of Xanax.
Oh, and Dark Souls/Bloodborne feels so cheap and blatantly ripped off after reading just a few chapters of this.

movies are just a really rushed version of the 90s anime, and the new anime is just a really bad adaptation of an arc that happens way later.
Manga is really the only way to go

By DY_nasty Go To PostOh, and Dark Souls/Bloodborne feels so cheap and blatantly ripped off after reading just a few chapters of this. It's been real popular for a real long time so, yeah, a lot of games and anime and other media have taken inspiration from it.
I mean yeah sure, but like... people just adored the art and the lore - I really just feel like it should've given more nods. imo

Vagabond is too long for me. But the art is sublime.

If you have to recommend an Inoue work, it has to be his best.
Aka Slam Dunk.
You know what the darkest part of Berserk is? The series may end on a cliffhanger due to how long it takes to release chapters

Miura's not fat and unhealthy like that overrated hack Martin.
Although, if Scamco keeps releasing Idolm@ster games...

It's a toss up between Slam Dunk, Vagabond and Real for me with SD slightly winning out... But Vagabond is closer to Berserk... therefore I suggested it

This current hiatus is more than likely preplanned to coincide with the anime's second seasno.

They're pretty much the same besides the fat and unhealthy. They throw in a bunch of pointless, violent sex scenes into their works for no reason and have inexplicably devoted followings convinced their works have real depth they can't find anywhere else in their respective genres/mediums.
oh and they also have no idea how to end their stories. Hence the breaks. lol

He traced NBA photos for Slam Dunk
Vagabond is the way more technically impressive work
Vagabond is ,better. So damn good, it'll NEVER be finished though.
REAL is even better but also will never be finished. Probably the best sports manga ever. Even though I wouldn't say it's a sports manga.
Basically Inoue is incredible. His art from Slam Dunk! to REAL is crazy. Almost wouldn't believe it's the same guy.

It's definitely some depressing shit--but good shit
Really--it's going absolutely nowhere in the manga, at least from where I read it years ago. Given the glacial pace the manga moves its probably only added 30 minutes of reading from where I last read.

Miura is a genius for sure. He's worse than George R. R. Martin though in regards to pace which is hard to do.

The latest one was just..
It's great but I think it's only gotten weaker after the Conviction arc. I haven't read anything the past year or so so where things ended for me it felt more like Guts and His Happy Adventures.
I think I'm definitely being spoiled by the quality. Most manga I've seen looks terrible in comparison

But of course Vagabond is better technically he was 23 when he made Slam Dunk

Vagabond one was something else tbh

By Zabojnik Go To PostAh, interesting. Lost touch with his work after Slam Dunk and a couple of Vagabond volumes. Will check it out, thanks.I'd definitely go back to Vagabond too. It's starts out slow but it picks up rather quickly and coincides with Inoue's decision to screw pencilling and just use brushwork in his panels.

I need to catch up. It's in the 300's now right?
By Apollo Go To PostI need to catch up. It's in the 300's now right?it's been in the 300s for the last for a loooooong time. Dude has done maybe 15 chapters in the last 3 or 4 years. The latest arc has definitely suffered from the constant hiatuses. AWFUL pacing. I really don't think he'll ever finish it. Which is a shame considering that it's practically near the end.
