the dems and MSM have actually been more cold blooded than I might have asked for or even anticipated tbh
CNN having the boldness to put the shooting story on the bench for the investigation headline is just cold blooded
the nofucks of warner in the Sessions hearing too...whew
"I hope you'll make yourself available whenever we call on your ass for any reason whatsoever. Btw it's good to see you"

This whole thread is a must-read. I tried copying the whole thing here but he wrote 40 posts & it gave the site fits & would probably crash everybody's phone browser.
Basically, Sessions fucked Trump over hard yesterday, perjured himself multiple times, confirmed everybody's worst fears and the PR show the Rs are putting out there isn't how they really feel about this at all.
Yeah that Twitter thread is a great read.

Funny thing about that:
White House officials are still insisting to the president that he should leave Mueller in his post. “We are all advising him not to [get rid of] Mueller. That has not changed,” one Trump aide told The Daily Beast. “It would be an absolute nuclear explosion if he did.”
But some privately concede that Trump is so unpredictable—and so frustrated with the persistence of the investigation and its cost in political capital—that they’re not ruling it out. Another White House official conceded that it would be “suicide” if Trump sacked Mueller at this point, but “I’d be insincere if I said it wasn’t a concern that the president would try to do it anyway.”
For now, officials are simply concerned with limiting fallout from what is sure to be a thunderous reaction from the president to news that he is personally the target of the FBI’s probe.
Asked what the internal game plan should be, one senior Trump administration official replied, “Keep him away from Twitter, dear God, keep him away from Twitter.”
Whoever leaked that Mueller bomb has to know that the leak would make it more likely Trump tries to fire Mueller. I also think the 97-2 senate vote to prevent Trump from lifting sanctions was a shot across his bow from the GOP.
I REALLY want to know what's going on behind these closed door sessions.

That senate vote more or less means the republicans know he is guilty. No way they do that unless behind closed doors the evidence of collusion wasn't strong as fuck.

They're fucking pissed at the idea of Russian interference in their elections, because getting re-elected is the only thing they really care about. Everything he's doing makes him look guilty as fuck, and despite what they say on TV they have to take it seriously that his henchmen are very obviously insulting their power and lying to congressional hearings. They hate that they have to keep doing very un-republican things to cover for him like pretend Putin isn't fucking with America, or shit on their intelligence community. They see his approval ratings tanking, and they see that even if he could skate on the charges he's too dumb to stop shooting his own foot off in public.

I agree. I don't think the establishment wants Trump. They're just protecting themselves and want to avoid a party fracture. I assume they would like to get the AHCA and tax shit done before they turn on him, but that might not be possible. In order to get the AHCA out of the senate the CBO needs to score the thing. That's a 2 week turnaround. If they don't have the thing into the CBO by Monday they won't get this done before the july 4th recess. Zeus and I are on the same page regarding that sanctions vote. I think we're seeing signs of cracking.
Also ... Sessions was really nervous with that negress questioning him:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jun/15/lobbyist-russian-interests-jeff-sessions-testimony
An American lobbyist for Russian interests who helped craft an important foreign policy speech for Donald Trump has confirmed that he attended two dinners hosted by Jeff Sessions during the 2016 campaign, apparently contradicting the attorney general’s sworn testimony given this week.
Sessions testified under oath on Tuesday that he did not believe he had any contacts with lobbyists working for Russian interests over the course of Trump’s campaign. But Richard Burt, a former ambassador to Germany during the Reagan administration, who has represented Russian interests in Washington, told the Guardian that he could confirm previous media reports that stated he had contacts with Sessions at the time.
How long before the Core Republicans start backtracking off Trump and starting pulling a Mr. Meeseeks to save themselves?
I mean he's not a sinking ship yet, but another 3-4 months of bombshells...

You guys are wasting so much energy on hoping for Republicans to develop morality.
Only when it is apparent that Trump cannot remain president (and I don't know what would even look like considering what he has survived so far) will they start to jump ship.

I think it's less trusting their eventual morality and more like deciding self preservation will eventually require them to separate from him. I guess they also told the admin they won't be slashing the EPA anything like he wants too.

I expected this, but a confirmation is good. More leaks that's gotta be pissing him off.
I think the original target to get the AHCA done before the 4th recess was to have the thing to the CBO by end of day today for a 2 week CBO scoring. They're really running out of time. Senate GOP working on this has ghosted everyone, including other senate GOP people. Even right wing radio on my way to work this morning was blasting the senate GOP, Including an admittance that Obamacare had an open hearing and was more transparent. They even went far enough to give credence to Chuck Schumer's point that they must be ashamed of the bill or they would be parading it through the streets. Granted this dude is a more moderate California republican who mostly just wants tax breaks, but he's got a big audience. Still, I think it illustrates why this is becoming challenging for them since there's other programs shitting on the bill because it's Obamacare lite with a tax credit instead of a subsidy.

Regardless this is indefensible. Another country essentially kills one of your own and gives him back like they ain't do shit?

North Korea is a genuine horror show, and the Chinese government will never be acceptable until they stop propping that regime up. If the Warmbier story makes you sick, realize they're doing this sort of thing on a daily basis to their own citizens.
In other dictatorial news, that story about the White House banning recordings is pretty frightening. The polarization of two party politics is allowing that scared, angry man to turn America into something else.

It's one citizen ... what are we gonna do? More sanctions? It sucks the guy died, but unless someone wants that #'s to exponentially raise nothing can or will be done.
We tell our citizens to NOT travel there for a reason.
i'll get around to writing up my adventures in utah when i get a chance
true story tho, while waiting to check my bags at the airport with some of my team - this old couple comes up to me and asks what how I feel about Trump. Not sure if this is a question to me, some black guy, or the service member, I just smile and say "It could be worse".
The woman smiles back and the guy gives me his sunglasses.

What's shitty is that this sentiment is met with condemnation from some on the as though this statement is the equivalent of telling a woman not to dress sexy if they don't want to be raped.
I'm mean ... there's victim blaming and then there's just acknowledging stupidity. Yes, NK shouldn't be imprisoning and torturing tourists, but they shouldn't be treating their own populace with such malice either.

I would have laughed in your face if you told me for even a second that a DEM was going to win in GA.
Biggest negative from ossoff is if Dems take it to much to heart or if Republicans feel embolden to think they can keep doing what they say they will do and won't lose the house in 2018
