Election day or how we call it, Bundestagswahl.
Let's hope these right wing fucks stay under 10% or even better, under 5% so they won't get into the parliament.

Clooney is a great man.
Made those Nespresso commercials, and uses the money to fund his own spy satellite to keep track of the war crimes in Sudan.

Kushner used private email to conduct White House business
Lock him up!
Presidential son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner has corresponded with other administration officials about White House matters through a private email account set up during the transition last December, part of a larger pattern of Trump administration aides using personal email accounts for government business.
Kushner uses his private account alongside his official White House email account, sometimes trading emails with senior White House officials, outside advisers and others about media coverage, event planning and other subjects, according to four people familiar with the correspondence. POLITICO has seen and verified about two dozen emails.

Ehhhh ... I get this mentality, but a prominent NASCAR figure directly shutting down a Trump argument, minutes after Trump thanks NASCAR, seems like the kinda thing the Kaep protest was meant to do. Too many of those players took too long to kneel or take arms in support. Same for the owners. We can sit here criticizing those people or be happy people are finally coming around, even if it's late.

Just like the Steelers and Seahawks yesterday choosing to hide from the anthem.
The messaging is clear cut at this point: you either take a knee and understand the discussion or you don't. No commenting or abstaining doesn't accomplish anything.
Making a statement is great but that's not good enough anymore. Put your money where your mouth is (your Tweets) and stand and shit with the cause or get off the pot.

Disclaimer: I am not one who conflates the protest with putting down the armed services
There are a lot of people who have a difficult time getting over this. There's lots of reasons why, but not all reason are, "because they're racist." It's important to remember this and I think it's why that message Dale said is important. Ideally he takes a knew too, but people have a more difficult time obfuscating if what he said is understood. He's saying to those who need to understand it the most too

As I'm typing the local news is airing people burning and feeding their dogs Ravens gear in protest to players kneeling. Do you believe a message like Dale's is going to reach these type of morons?
By DY_nasty Go To PostHow everything rides on if people take a knee or not is what's really stupid. It's unfortunately gotten to that point. Dale's comments are great and speak to those who understand what the conversation is already about. But for the rest (who I'm going to assume make up the majority of his fan base) it's an empty gesture that will be forgotten as soon as he's singing along at his next race.

Moral paragon Ben Roethlisberger. Far more concerned with a piece of fabric than with respecting women, who are actual human beings.

Again, these people in the public eye making comments are all talk and want everyone to like them. They don't want to have to answer any tough questions. Look at Roethlisberger trying to distance himself from his teammates and the issues. He wants no part of any of this, which I'll admit is his right and the situation isn't fair. But the President of the United States is calling you, your union and about 80% of your teammates out in front of the world -- you're involved whether it's fair or not.
I still can't believe that the Defense Department is behind making these tributes and pre-game anthems a thing in the first place. It's amazing that millions were spent to get us to this point. That's worth it's own outrage on its own.

He's not actually coming out on the same side as Kaepernick, just defending his right to peaceful protest.
I don't understand the "if you don't kneel, fuck you" crowd. It's basically the exact same stance as "If you kneel, fuck you". It's so bizarre.
It comes back to what you're using your platform for, right? You could totally not kneel and maintain your credibility, but what are you doing to fight injustice?
It's just weird to me that we want black people to fight racism for us when they're the victims here.

It's only similar in word usage and phrasing. The sentiment and reasoning behind it vastly differ.
Let's keep it 100. Any one of us can pick a page out of any book on civil rights era protesting and see how this already played out: everything from rewriting the reason behind initial protests, to wealthy people only "speaking out" when they feel "insulted", to black athletes being blackballed or having their jobs threatened.
Time can only repeat so much before people become tired of Groundhogs Day scenarios, especially when "enlightened" individuals push middle of the road thoughts with no actual stance.

Also, those players are hilarious. Sharpe was correct. These dudes watched kaep lose his job and get blackballed...and did nothing. Trump calls them bitches and now it's time to take a knee. Better late than never, but meh.

Also, many of these same people can't decide if they want athletes to be role models or not in the first place.

Because he has credibility.
Kneeling on hardwood for two minutes seems like a bad idea. But I bet we see guys turn their backs during the anthem this season.
Anyway, two weeks ago we had this happen in Baltimore County...
Seems excessive to kick this son of a bitch in his head as he surrenders and then twice more once he's being placed in handcuffs.
Diamontae Tyquan Farrar did lead police on a car chase though, so he was probably asking for it, but it does seem odd that the freekick taking officer, Christopher Spivey, didn't include any of this in his report. Perhaps he forgot at the time of filing that he was fearful for his life and didn't realize his support chopper was recording with night vision. 🤔
Feared for his life strikes again and pops up just in time for Spivey's testimony for the save!
Jury deliberated for thirty minutes. That's more than enough time to go over and thoroughly discuss multiple testimonies and videos presented during the three day trial.
His attorney is hopful for more work from the department in the near future...
So to clarify: One of the two officers who reported to Internal Affairs that they witnessed what they would consider excessive force by Spivey while apprehending this criminal is also one of the six officers who the City's States Attorney charged with the unlawful arrest and later death of Freddie Gray in 2015.
His name is Edward Nero and he was one of two BCPD bike cops who chased down Gray and arrested him because...Gray looked at them and ran away. 😕
This guy beat a wrongful arrest and murder charge in the city and then relocated ten miles to the County division.
But even his word and eyewitness account along with video evidence isn't enough to get a conviction on a cop for something as tiny as excessive force.
Diamontae Tyquan Farrar meanwhile got sentenced to three years for GTA a month prior to this trial.

Only well off people spout this cool accelerationist shit. It's not practical in the slightest for people that this shit actually fuck over.
If Brown's entire philosophy is trying to work with the devil you know to advance the embetterment for black people, then he utterly failed his entire modus operandi by rallying behind 45. Trump doesn't even give a shit about the white people he claims that he does, on top of being a bigot. Why tap dance for him instead of the actual politician? It wasn't smart at all. Acting like this country is better off now (when people were already protesting/counter protesting the current topics while Obama was in office) due to discourse, instead of Clinton being president is straight fan fiction.

Plenty of people voted for pure anti-establishment, and lets be honest - they're getting exactly that. Honestly, in the best way possible too. Trump and a majority GOP stir shit without creating anything of substance to support their far-right goals. Republicans can't even work together.
And I don't think that the efforts with Obama in office were near as substantial as people claim to be. If they were, then there'd be a foundation at local levels that would've lasted more than three months. Instead, people think Black Lives Matter is the primary social justice movement and that's a horrible, painful joke.

A 4 year conflict in which progress can only be attained by the gamble that the collective conscious of America can rise beyond apathy and go fucking vote, is more of a joke to me than the random person's perception of BLM. Even when armed with statistics and polls, there is still uncertainty clouding the air. Toss in social media fukkery and the field changes even more.
From a legislative point of view, this makes even less sense to me. Progress has been made while conflict has occurred, sure. No progress will be made during this administration, unless some outside force pushes the country forward or 45 is stripped of his power (maybe even less). We banking on Sessions to wake up and go, "well I uh, might have been a little wrong about the state of policing in the uh country, in regards to black men and minorities in general" and do something about the prison system?
The only reason this version of accelerationist ideology hasn't blown up in everyone's face, is due to everyone lucking up with an inept gop. That type of luck doesn't last.
Make no mistake, I'm glad everyone is talking or trying to hide their hand. It's in the open further and that's better than ignoring it fully.

Legislatively, its a wash. Nothing so substantial is getting done to where America burns without end. I mean, honestly it should be worse. If it was, then people might organize something more than a few rallies here and there that never seem to amount to shit. Instead, we're looking to the fucking NFL for civil rights discussion. How ridiculous is that? You'd think by now people would realize tipping over statues that've been there for centuries and talking about uncomfortable politics on Sundays isn't good enough.
I completely get where some of the old heads were coming from. I'd rather argue with someone who openly disagrees then take another handout from someone who can't wait til I disappear.
