I recently made the switch to brown switches, from the romer-g ones on logitech. While I liked logitechs. this feels so much better. Kind of wanted the more clicky ones, but I hate the noise it picks up in microphones and such.
By NinjaFridge Go To PostI'm getting a popping noise through my speakers but it seems to only happen in Chrome. Can't replicate it in other browsers and I didn't notice it in Wolfenstein 2 or when I listened to some music I have saved on my external HDD.Do you have your cellphone next to any wires? Or anything else that gives off strong radio waves or other electronic interference next to some wires? If it's not that, I got no idea. :(

I thought Browns we're too soft, and didn't provide enough feedback. Basing this off of my Logitech G710+. They we're definitely quieter than Blues or Reds. I find the Romer-G switches to be a happy middle ground for me.
If a cpu is overworked, does it fuck your sound up?
Sometimes when I play dota at 4k with too many other programmes running, the frame rate takes a dip when things get hectic
The framerate goes back to normal, but for the rest of the match, the sound is like somebody blowing into a microphone

By Hitch Go To PostIf a cpu is overworked, does it fuck your sound up?Oh, yeah, it totally can. Before... I want to say Windows 7... soundcards could use their on-board CPUs to process sound. Since then, however, Windows enforces sound processing on the main CPU (for a variety of compatibility and driver reasons). So, if your CPU is getting maxed out, it can definitely affect sound.

By HottestVapes Go To PostI looked it up last night. Few different models, but I'm guessing your has blue switches? Noise aside, I think blue switches are genuinely great. The feedback from the click just feels right.Brown equivalent.
By DominicanPower Go To PostBrown equivalent.
That makes me kinda jealous to be honest, the Auckey keyboard I had only had blue clones. If they were brown clones/equivalent I probably would've kept it.

We made it, boys.
Do I chance taking my 1080 apart to water cool that bitch?
Just saw this and seems like a really good value bundle for water cooling.

Poor 1070Ti gets too much hate. It's a pointless card, but still a very good card.
If I put off building my PC till now instead of 5 months ago, I would've went for the 1070Ti over the 1080 and just overclocked the life out of it. Easy £100 saving for the same level of performance (since I'm running my 1080 at stock settings anyway).

By Laboured Go To PostLads I'm looking for cheap G-sync monitors (yes I know). Any recommendations? You might be able to find a cheap Chinese or Korean monitors elsewhere, but the list for cheap G-sync monitors is short.

So I'm trying out the new firefox and it seems OK but when I fullscreen a Youtube video my cursor won't disappear. No audio popping though!

How cheap are we talking here? I paid £350 for Acer Predator one a few months back, still regularly goes on sale. It's 27inch/1080p/144hz.
Speaking of which, it's back down to that price now.

Meh, does me fine. I sit maybe two feet from the screen and shit looks good to me.
Full disclosure, from 2007-2017 I was using my PC on a 32inch 1366x768 resolution TV and I didn't see much wrong with that either.

Not a bad price that. Gonna dip on it now or wait for further sales?

Realistically have to wait. It's, ah, been an expensive month :p

All of them FF. All of the parts. Annoyingly I don't have a comprehensive cut and paste list.
It goes something like:
- i7 8700K
- Corsair H100 AIO CPU cooler
- ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-F mobo
- 16GB DDR4 RAM @ 3000MHZ
- GTX 1080ti SC2
- Samsung Evo 960 250GB NVMe
- Samsung Evo 850 2TB SSD
- WD Blue 3TB HDD
- Corsair modular 650 watt PSU
- Some extra Corsair case fans
That's the main stuff. RAM and storage are p expensive atm it seems.

I wonder how yours would run Rocket League :o
By Bungie Go To PostWhat happened to your previous monitor?
Nothing. Looking to get a monitor for the wife for Chrimbus (she asked for one) and the idea of buying a monitor without G-sync physically repulses me.
i bought an expensive ass 1080p screen with no gsync. but those 240hz gives me all the flicks in csgo. ez awping

May I suggest the Kraken x62 if it will fit in your case. The H100i is a bit outdated imo, and the x62 is the best looking AIO on market.

Worth getting one of these for some entry level water cooling?

Appreciate the advice m8 but it's already turned up. Will see if I'm happy with it.
The reviews for AIO coolers scared me off
Having said that the negative reviews probably represent like 1% of buyers

Reviews are always weighted towards the negatives. Thousands will buy something, have zero of issues with it and never really think about it ever again because it just works for them. Less than a 100 could buy the same thing, have issues with faults, etc. and feel motivated to say something about it.

I have 5 total ML140 PROs in my rig. They're legit. Maybe I should cop these RGBs
Finally had a free afternoon, so I started putting together the new PC battle station. Didn't accomplish much besides moving stuff around, but I did manage to finish the speaker stands I designed some time back. It was a quick job, but I'm quite happy with how they turned out.
Apologies for the shitty quality. I decided to keep the Tannoy 502's for now. Great monitors for the money. Next up: cabling and cable management.

That beats the hell out of my PC setup. lol
I currently just have a bunch of junk on my desk. I need to get a desk that is at least as wide as my current one but with no protruding parts underneath it. That way, I can have my case and printer and shit sit on the ground or on a small platform that I could move around, if needed.

That's thick, solid and tight.
My desk is an abomination, need to work on it, but due to some space constraints, gotta use it sideways for now.

thats tough
if you want to make it perfect, drill a small hole in the desk for the keyboard wire and use a sleeve for the monitor wires.
or go wireless on the keyboard and mouse
either way, that's tough, good stuff

Finally found a UK retailer stocking the ASUS AM4 ITX boards, and I'm really damn tempted by them. £176 tho. plus another £100 or more for a nice ITX case and another £80 or so for a modular small form factor PSU.
Not sure on what case I'd go for yet, I just want something shorter, no more than 30cm tall. Preferably not another cube case.
