Actually rewatching House again... Kinda hyped for Chance even if it sounds a bit samey, he plays a great genius doctor!
It sound far darker. I'm also hyped that it's in San Francisco.
Designated Survivor premier is pretty good so far. Kiefer fiddling with his glasses is the white normal dude version of Escabor adjusting his belt.

Mentioned it in the other thread but people should give The Exorcist a shot. The first episode was far better than I expected.
This year seems to be littered with movies turned tv shows or re-imaginings of old shows. Exorcist, Lethal Weapon, Training Day, Rush Hour, Prison Break, etc. I'd be shocked if more than one of those gets a second season.
Westworld - October 2nd
Starring - Anthony Hopkins
Won't list the whole cast but it looks pretty good
Notable inclusion is Ramin Djawadi as composer/producer
My one hyped showed this fall, have high hopes for it.

Rush Hour is already dead, The Exorcist was good and a decent critical reception but the ratings for the first episode wasn´t that great, the Lethal Weapon apparently had a decent pilot and ratings wise was one of the strongest premieres so far.
Watched exorcist.
Fell asleep through it.
Designated survivor kept my attention. Will keep watching.

I'm watching Atlanta, Strain, AHS and Scream Queens currently. I like them all obviously. Tried twice to get into Designated Survivor just didn't have the urge to finish both times. Will give it one more shot probably after the second episode so I can watch them back to back.
I'm on Atlanta and Better things. So far, so good. FX really is the best.
Also checked out HBO's, High Maintenance, which I didn't know much about going in other than it's about a dude biking around Brooklyn selling weed. That's exactly what it's not about and I didn't find the pilot very compelling at all. The second episode was much better so I think I'll stick with it now that I know what I'm dealing it.
It's apparently a collection of short stories about the people who are connected to the dude in the promos (the shows creator) who sells them weed. Very little is known about this guy other than how he ties everyone you meet together.
Checked out the opening for MacGyver out of pure curiosity. Standard CBS drivel. It killed in the overnight ratings though, so old people are clearly loving their three hour Friday night block.
Gave Designated Survivor a look and will check out episode two, but if Sunderland isn't involved and playing the real villain pulling the strings, then I think they've blown a big opportunity to do something truly edgy. The pilot was only okay.
The ability of the major networks to consistently produce programs with the same lighting, cinematography, sets and just overall vibe is incredible. I can look at a still frame, and go, yeah, that's an ABC show. Or those are certainly NBC levels of special effects.

You´re The Worst has already been renewed for a 4th season. Excellent news, it´s one of the best shows currently on TV.
By Phlebas Go To PostWestworld Hollywood premier tonight. Hopefully we can get some good early reactions before Sunday
There it is.
Rev up your hype engines
By reilo Go To PostThe Good Place is fucking amazing lmao. Michael Schur is a genius.Decided to check this out and watched the first 3 episodes. I'm hooked, the concept and Kristen Bell are what got me interested but damn the show is hilarious. And didn't even realize it's from the guy behind Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Parks and Rec. Loved the 1st season of Brooklyn Nine Nine though haven't been able to keep up with it since and I have yet to catch Parks and Rec.
I watched the first episode of The Get Down. I get that it's a teenage fairy tale, so I was just rolling with it right up until the end...when he got on the mic and suddenly, without ever having seen rap before, spontaneously invented every iconic 70s party hook jacked from like 6 different rappers. Like come on.
By Phlebas Go To PostYep, hype engine back to max for me.

By RATHasReturned Go To PostMany layers to Westworld. That was a good update on what the movie presented.Heard it did very well.
I won't be able to see it until I can get my PC fixed. Hopefully by next weekend
Man FX with all their comedies, I just can't keep up. Watched the first three eps of Atlanta, loved it. Already behind on You're the Worst. Also saw Westworld's pilot which is fucking great. Checked out the Luke Cage pilot, enjoyed it. Also happy to have B99 back. Oh and South Park of course!
I'm marathoning Mr. Robot season two and holy fuck I am just not built for this. On episode 7 and it hurts
The Get Down won me over by the end, the last episode or two were really good. I didn't realize it was so short though.
Though it's kind of not cool that they treat Grandmaster Flash like a deity but never mention once that DJ Cool Herc basically invented hip hop. And hearing them praise Afrika Bambaataa is just sad now that we know he pretty much started Zulu Nation because he was into young boys, though I guess you can't expect the characters to know that.

By Kabro Go To PostEp.2 of Westworld is too good. Shouldve been episode 1.The first ep was necessary to set up the main hosts and employees of Westworld, which allows the new guests to stand on their own when they enter the world.
I like that they kinda threw you in the deep end in the first episode, then explained a lot of what was going on in the second.
Awesome, awesome show so far though.
Reverse for me. I didnt like how they just threw viewers in the thick of things.
Wouldve been a lot more awesome if they ramped up anticipation of what the world was. A technique Spielberg uses. The world itself is a character, which the writers couldve used as a driver to create intrigue. But nonethless, the writers used the AIs instead as the focus. Its really nitpicking.
Loving it.
Edit: love Michael Crichton books. I might have to pick this one up.

man I hope they leak episode 3 two days earlier as well 🙈
I'm enjoying westworld, everything feels really well done and high budget, but none of the characters seem interesting to me... still early days though
also it makes me think of lost for some reason

Not sure how you make more interesting characters when most of your cast is playing robots that have yet to fully awaken. I think once that opening up starts to happen, and we see the greater plan, more of individual personality will come out.
I expect that the decommissioned "Pa" will make a return.

I really hope the character comes back as you predict.

Ditto.
I'm also shockingly looking forward to Timeless tonight too. I actually really enjoyed the pilot despite the amateur special effects.

lol its a real place?
I thought when Anthony Hopkids went to WestWorld via the Elevator, I didn't think it was a literal elevator. lmao

Insecure first episode was good. Issa Rae is adorable.
Binged survivors remorse s3. It won't ever deliver on its promise and the dialogue is ridiculous, but it's a cute little family drama. Likable characters.

Westworld pilot was...okay.
I don't quite understand a few things, like how the new comers enter the world and if they're monitored or even how they're eventually removed, but I'm hoping they flesh that out as they go. The premise is certainly interesting and the casting is very good.
Timeless on NBC is following a similar pace. They're revealing just enough little bits of the overarching story to keep their hooks in. I like it!

Atlanta really is a breath of fresh air. Hope it's been meeting expectations and is picked up for another season. It can't cost very much to produce.
I don't know--and I honestly don't see how--they can continue on their current trajectory for 20+ episodes though. The first two have been fairly procedural but have bits of serialized moments involving the antagonist.
By Kabro Go To PostTimeless is as cheap as the Librarians on TNT.It definitely comes off as a fancy high school play with the special effects, costumes and sets they use. But at its core it's a decent little story and the use of historical events is what I'm interested in seeing more of.
You can never trust NBC to execute a sci fi drama.

Black American Network had me rolling. I love my Charger as much as the guy in the commercial. I think I'd end up the same way.
They didn't go all the way with the cereal commercial and that showed a lot of restraint. That was a really good episode.
